A GPU from years ago is going to look better than the 360 version. A £50 GPU will do the job better than the consoles.
The other points aren't even worth mentioning.

[QUOTE="Crystal-Rush"]BF3 is gonna sell better on the 360, just like every other major multiplatform FPS. Why would Dice waste their efforts in making the PS3 version graphically superior to the 360 version when it wont sell as well. Sound like a complete waste of resources.DragonfireXZ95
You're right, they shouldn't even bother with the consoles because it's going to sell the most on PC.
Oh--That's right, they didn't. ;)
well of course the PC version will sell, look and play better. My point was for the console version of the game.Im sure that article will be from the xbox point of view and probably written with that in mind, however he does have one slight point that battlefield will look similar to the Console versions on most PC. I think this was badly worded but I readan offical tweet from one of the developers that said the recommended settings will only run the game at medium. I dont for one second think that the console versions will look near the PC version maxxed out but I think medium wont show to much difference screen res aside. I think the journalist should have said that an average £800 branded manufacturerPC wont look to different to consoles.
Recommended System Requirements
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Processor: Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU
RAM: 4GB
Graphics card: DirectX 11 Nvidia or AMD ATI card, GeForce GTX 460, Radeon Radeon HD 6850
Graphics card memory: 1 GB
Hard drive: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version
Yes it will, the consoles will be running at low. Even medium will show a significant difference, especially with 64 players.Im sure that article will be from the xbox point of view and probably written with that in mind, however he does have one slight point that battlefield will look similar to the Console versions on most PC. [QUOTE="NeonNinja"][QUOTE="Pray_to_me"]Fail. There's nothing superior about AA batteries and goldmember feesJohn_Read
Well, we don't use AA batteries so that goes to show what you know. It's called a rechargable battery pack my man. Plug it in and it recharges while you play or while the system is off.
The biggest reason to get the 360(or PS3)version though is to avoid that Origin crap that's stuck with the PC version.
what's wrong with origin ? (just asking) Nothing at all. Its just like Steam, Stardock, Games for Windows, and Gamespy Comrade. It lets you play your games without having to swap dvd's. Program doesn't even have to run to play the games after you install it, and you can just download it from the Origin servers if you need to reinstall.[QUOTE="ccagracing"]Yes it will, the consoles will be running at low. We cant just say the consoles will be running at low. The native res on them is less than 1280x720 so this may have been cut to give them a bit more visual oomph. PC will most likely be running 1680x1050 minimum on most 19"+ monitors so obviously require a stronger card that not a lot of pre built premiumbranded £800 or less systems will be using. BF3 will look the best on PC and if you want the best possible experience then that is the way to go but I dont think the console version will be that far behind what the average PC is running it at.
Fail. There's nothing superior about AA batteries and goldmember feesPray_to_meThis plus "several thousand" for a PC that plays the game on the same level as xbox or marginally better. Wow i don't know what to think about that article, it clearly must be a joke article there cannot be anyone so biased and with publishers privileges who thinks those points are all true? I mean seriously.
[QUOTE="eboyishere"]damage control from mircosofts board of directors?WilliamRLBakerhow is planetxbox MSBD?

Wow, the ignorance is thick with this one.
To max out Battlefield 3 on PC you DO NOT have to spend "thousands of dollars". Jeebus, I thought this tired old argument dies bakc in 2005. Modern PC hardware costs a fraction of what it used to, AND very modest hardware will pwn consoles in terms of power/performance any day of the week.
To max out battlefield youa re looking at under $1,000 rig. To play it at 1080p medium-high settings, 60+ FPS instead of low settings, SUB-HD no AA or AF and under 30 FPS like on consoles, you're looking at around $500-$600.
Or, since most people already have a PC, most likely a $150 GPU upgrade.
The difference between graphics, performance and responsiveness running on a PC and a console is not marginal. It is night and day.
forgetting the PC version...you know..where the game is going to own [QUOTE="lawlessx"][QUOTE="finalstar2007"]
In your dreams ( to da artical :P ), PS3 is the only system i would get it on
Free online? Free game with BF3 PS3? early DLC? footage already seen and is being marketed crazy by EA on PS3? win win and what? more win!
leave 360 for the 1 exclusive it has this year :P

If i play BF3 on my laptop it would look like this
Now tell me this? or PS3?
Why would you play it on a laptop? It's meant to be played on a high end PC.:|Fail. There's nothing superior about AA batteries and goldmember feesPray_to_me
I hate how fanboys who mention the controller fail to mention the annoying fact that it has that battery pack. Also the very poor quality of the rubber on the analog nubs.
Regardless both controllers DS3 and 360 are fun to use
Yet the PC version will be the best.In your dreams ( to da artical :P ), PS3 is the only system i would get it on

The funny thing is that Xbox 360 will probably still have more sales than the PS3. Cause the real world knows shooters are best on the Xbox.
jimmypsn
I think you probably meant "...the real world knows that shooters are best on PC.". Or at least all the PC gamers know this and rightly inform the Xbox and PS3 gamers.
Hell the PC I'm currently using cost me all of $1000 and it will definitely be running BF3 on high at 1680x1050. Not a bad price for something that does everything I'd ever need an electronic device to do.
Reason why I'm getting it for the 360...who plays FPS's on a dualshock? 360 controller is perfect for shooters. soapandbubbleslol no it isn't.

what's wrong with origin ? (just asking)I'm not a fan of being forced to download extra programs in order to be able to play a game. We already have Steam and GFWL doing that on retail releases, and now we get to add Origin to the mix? No thanks. Not for me.
I'd be cool with it if it was only for download versions, but a retail version should just let you install and play. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

I notice X360 fanboys say this when they want to try and claim superiority or that they want to claim a PC/Xbox360 multiplat as an Xbox 360 exclusive. I remember one saying "No one games on PC derp you PS3 fanboy, no one wants to fork out $3000 just to game." I noticed one of the games he was trying to claim as a exclusive was Left 4 Dead series  so I'm come in and I'm like really I need $3000 to play a source engine game that can be played on a friggin netbook and lets not forget we have the updated version along with the whole source engine modding community.
Didn't need that article to convince me.
I'm still getting it for xbox 360 mainly because I like xbl and the people that I enjoy playing with will be on that console.
word. i was always gonna buy it on 360 anyways because of live and the controllerDidn't need that article to convince me.

facepalm.jpg "But let's not forget that the game was running on a PC that probably costs several thousands of dollars, a rig that you likely don't have. If however, you do happen to have a pretty solid PC that can actually play the game, chances are it will likely look about the same as the 360 version, or marginally better at best. "bleehum

Yeah, use that 50+ inch HD TV to play..... SUB-HD, blurry, jaggie, ugly console games! That's the ticket!

We know it's a troll article, but keep in mind that people actually believe this sort of stuff. I've met many people who think DICE intentionally gimped the console versions, and that the console can have PC-like graphics with 64 players. The average customer just isn't as informed as the average system warrior.

yep me to. I have my PC hooked up to a PC screen via dvi and to my TV via HDMI :)
But I'm still gonna play it on the PS3 and the PC because of different friends that have different systems, and It's gonna be a fun game on both systems no matter what elitist Hermits say :P
HURRAY for having Friends!! :P

you can hook up pc to computer but some people might have situations that prevent that, ie family computer or something
