Yup, don't give a crap about Gamespot's review/opinion. I'll be getting it day one.

BioShockOwnz

Yet when you bash ps3 titles you tend to use scores as ownage, hypocrit.

Oh, you can use the scores as ownage, I don't care, I do it. But when it comes to making a purchase, I never let those scores dictate my thoughts on purchasing a game. I own all those PS3 flops.

Likewise Imblomas, my post shows no disrespect whatsoever. If I did offend you in any way Bioshock, I sincerely apologize; however, I was merely stating proven points about health and fitness.Stevo_the_gamer

Why do some individuals think that Wii Fit is a workout device and that's it? Miyamoto has went on to say that it won't do any good, pretty much. Wii Fit has actual games included on the disk, ya know? Like those ski games we used to play as kids at the arcade. I like casual mini-games. I know many users here hate them, but I am part of the minority. It's not a workout device and it won't make you fit, but it will provide some enjoyment if you can open up to its casual nature.

really...? wow, I didn't think anyone was really excited for this, um, movment uh adventure gamey thingamabob... aren't you affraid someone will see you through the windows of your house using it? yes, that is a serious question...

Nope, don't care. I'm not insecure, so I don't feel the need to care about what others think. Come to think of it, Wii Fit will be a sales success and there will be many other "silly" people buying it. I'm not buying it as a workout device, but as a game, since it does have some mini-games I'm interested in.

you cannot be serious right? your buying a $90 minigame. wtf

Hey, I'm sorry I have money to buy things. Having a good job allows me to buy what I want and I do just that.

If you don't mind me asking, what is your job?

I for instance am aware that there are games on Wiifit. I just don't know if I would get someone to drop the money needed for it :P . At the moment, I'm simply not interested enough, my interest may actually rise with the arrival of other games.

In any case, if you're interested in it go for it, I on the under hand won't and It's not because of a ridiculous if not a noticeable resounding hate (quite the strong word) towards the dam game. Like you said, you don't have to follow the next current created axiom by people in these boards or anywhere else. Just get it and have a hell of a good time for doing it, then come back to tell us how it fares in the end (and I actually wouldn't mind that:P )

Well I'm impressed. I was expecting 6/10 at best. Not much ownage either way considerng the zero-hype. But it goes to show that Nintendo can turn any idea, no matter how ludicrous into a passable game. I already exercise so I'm not interested, but I'm sure it'll pull a Brain Age sales-wise.

There are a lot of insecure kids in this thread. 7.0 is in fact, a good score. WiiFit can in fact, help you lose weight.

Not that I would care that much to begin with, but was the game hyped? Sure the game was most definitely hyped, but what I mean is, was there an official hype score?

The review's icons describe exactly how I feel about the Wii:

The Good:
-Family-friendly fun
-Good start
-Innovative
-Unique

The Bad:
-Disappointing
-Shallow

Except that the bad outways the good by quite a lot.

oh it's about what i expected from GS. though this made me laugh

" Board is sensitive, but you can still cheat at exercises."

that shouldn't matter. it would defeat the point of the game. like playing DDR with a keyboard or controller.

Lame. And I still don't see how this is a game. Kind of like reviewing a workout video. DeerhunterIA

I've never seen a workout video that moniters your balance and position in real-time, and gives you feedback.

I'm getting this game day one. Also, I'd like to point out once again that the average score is 8.1.

Casuals will think it gets you fit.

That's probably because it does get you fit. Being fit doesn't mean losing a bajillion pounds in an hour. This game gets you fit by improving flexibility, posture, and muscle-tone.

This is Wii-Fit, not Wii-Gym, or Wii-Cardiovascular-Workout.

There is more to being fit than just losing weight or becoming the Hulk.

You're right, you don't have to spend a hundred dollars. You have to spend thousands of dollars for a personal trainer that will be on call 24/7 to give you real-time tips about your posture as you're performing Yoga. Also, they would be knowledgable of other forms of exercise.

Personally, I think Wii-Fit sounds like a fun game, and the more I hear, the more I'm hyped.

I don't think there's anything Wii Fit could tell me that I don't already know about fitness. Same about a trainer. And even if there was something I desperately needed to know, I could look it up on the internet for free.

Yes, but the Internet can't tell you "You have to much weight on your right", or "Try putting more weight on the balls of your heels", or "Straighten your posture, your a bit to the left" in the middle of exercising. The fact is, Wii-Fit gives you an experience that cannot be obtained for the same price elsewhere.

It was reviewed by someone from Gamespot AU. Are there any other reviews written by the other Gamespot's like UK?

BTW Wii Fit isn't touting itself as the only way to get into shape. It should only be used as a stepping stone for more vigorous exercises. I want to see what other games can be made with the Balance Board. I'm looking forward to the new Raving Rabbids.

You're right. I'm heading out the door to spend 100 dollars so a game can tell me I'm tilting to the left, instead of looking in a mirror.

I don't think you understand quite how imperceptable these things can be. I'm almost positive that when you stand perfectly still, you probably favour one leg over the other to put your weight on. Besides, how confidant are you of your posture and balance when your folded up like a pretzel. Besides, whenever I see exercise videos, there's always the voice in the back of my head saying "It shouldn't be this hard/easy, you're doing it wrong". This isn't as good as having a personal instructor, but it's better than a video, or nothing whatsoever.

Some of you guys are weird. I agree that the wiifit game seems a bit strange, but it's great to try new things. Lots of people here criticize game companies for not taking risks and trying new things, then when one does, you criticize that. It's like you're so closed off on what games "should be". Not only that, but the balance board is amazing. Here's a device that senses your bodies movement, opens up amazing possibilities for the future of gaming and some are calling it a gimmick. What? Do you always want to be sitting on your couch, moving a joystick and pushing buttons? Imagine two motion-sensing controllers in your hands and a motion-sensing balance board under your feet....pretty exciting stuff. But whatev.

The fact is, Wii-Fit gives you an experience that cannot be obtained for the same price elsewhere.

Yeah, considering I just got a 4.0 in fitness class, I don't know anything about this subject.

Look, the point is, exercise is exercise. There is no "wrong way" of exercising. As long as you're moving, you're exercising. Wii Fit is an exercise. A 100-dollar exercise. Walking is an exercise. A free exercise. Yoga, push-ups, jumping jacks, whatever you're doing in Wii Fit can be done for free by yourself. Sure having a record-keeper is fun, but is it worth 100 dollars? Not in my opinion, no.

The WarioWare rumor sounds like a blast also using the Wiiboard.

If Nintendo pulls it off just right that could be another AAA.

Now this I want to see. Except for the first WarioWare game, the rest have always had some gimmick behind them. WarioWare Touched, Twisted, and Smooth Moves always used an unconventional style of gameplay. Playing with the Balance Board would be great.

That would be a blast. I love playing the mini games with friends and family. I also love to play DDR and almost no one is at my level I hang out with. So can't wait for a liter way to play and exercise a little at the same time.

Or even another Mario Party which uses the Wii board would be great.
