yeah thats what im sayingI completely agree with TC. I'm not going to say Nintendo wasn't ever a good company, but their current set of progress is absolutely horrible. Honestly, do we really need another version of Mario Party, Mario Kart, or Super Smash Bros? They are all the same, and they are the only games that are half decent ( if you decide you want to play them again for the 20th time). Every other third party title on the Wii is a joke...Kawasaki Jetski? Ninjabread Man? Bubble Pop? Kidz Sports Series? So sad. I wish Nintendo would stop dwelling on their past success and think up some new ideas for the future.TheXboxgamer73
The irony...

Should we list some of the wonderful games for the 360? Like Bomberman: Act Zero, Hour of Victory, and that History Channel game.. How bout we list the Ps2 crap? We don't have enough room for that so I wont try.
The irony of what? He makes complete valid points. People act like the Wii is the answer to life's problems. Hey let me lose weight with Wii Fit. Or how bout let me and my kids enjoy the 32nd addition of Mario World, oh wait, they weren't awesome after Super Mario 3. ( I loved the Raccoon). How about updating to graphics to 2004 levels, adding some new characters, and calling it Smash Bros Brawl and have people lined up for hours to get it.EscoDaddy14
IF your too stupid to see it I wont answer, its ironic for you also.

Actually, I think we should list some of the wonderful games for the Xbox 360. Lets see, Call of Duty 2 & 4 were amazingly intense shooters, Mass Effect was epic, BioShock was amazing, Dead Rising was a test of open world mall awesomeness, Condemned 1 & 2 were graphic and intense powerhouses, Saints Row was a blast, and Grand Theft Auto 4 is shaping up to be one of the greatest games of all time. And the really funny thing is that not a single one of these games is anywhere to be found on the WII. Oh well, I guess Luxor and London Taxi Rush Hour are good substitutes. Not.[QUOTE="dotWithShoes"][QUOTE="TheXboxgamer73"]I completely agree with TC. I'm not going to say Nintendo wasn't ever a good company, but their current set of progress is absolutely horrible. I think that I started this thread because i was saying how the Wii is making games that are repetative and SUPER MARIO Galaxy is exactly what I'm talking about.[QUOTE="darkspineslayer"]please explain either your opinion or why you made an account to bash the wiistedtfeldJust because im trying to express my opinion doesn't mean that i made this account to bash the wii
So why can't you simple use your regular account?
...and as far as Super Mario Galaxy is concerned, it was a decent game, but when you put aside the gravity aspect of it, its the same exact game as Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine..The concept never changes.. you go to different levels to collect stars, different colored coins, and fight Bowser. Rinse and repeat. As the TC has stated, repetition is becoming the Achilles heel for NintendoTheXboxgamer73
Banjo Kazooie is the same game as Mario 64 also... It's called being in the same genre.
If you haven't noticed yet it's these small things like focusing on gravity or a recharging shield that make games different.
I like Nintendo's franchises, but I agree they need to bring something new to the table. And by new I dont mean a game that has a bunch of characters that look like Mii's running around spewing crap for little kids.
I want what Sony is getting (thankfully I have a PS3 too). Sony gets massive NEW titles every gen from hardcore/very good developers, along with the franchises that they own. Why cant Nintendo do the same?
Ok, undoubtedly SMG was a good game, but i don't like how people brag about it getting a high score on Gamerankings. Anyways, my question is, do you actually think SMG would have gotten the same reception if it was for 360 or ps3? ....Nowootasifwoot
+++1 I dont think sheep realize the mass appeal to casuals and sheer sucess of the wii is why the games have been scoring so high. I did like SMG but 9.5 is a reaching. I have enjoyed a few recent 8.5 to 9.0 games much more. This is a business and I think reviews are bought just like movies. Any one who disagrees is misinformed.
*edit I didnt mean so much bought as to given to go with the flow of gaming as its moving at any given time. Good example is Halo3, I have all 3 systems am find myself enjoying the 360 as my main gaming platform but Halo 3 was lame, and should have been much better.

Mario party
Mario Kart
Dr. Mario
Mario Golf
Mario Strikers
Mario Tennis
Mario Picross
Paper Mario

Hell, theres even a Dance Dance Revolution game dedicated to Mario Mix songs.
Don't get me wrong, Galaxy is great, but you have to draw a line somewhere Mr. Miyamoto...

This goes towards you and the TC.... Ok so Nintendo likes to do the same thing over again.. I'll admit that. But look at the other consoles, whats different about ALL the FPS's on the systems.. different settings, different story elements, same plot. You're a big tough guy, you shoot a bunch of baddies, you shoot a few bosses, you win.

Ok well thats the gaming industry for you. There are not many games that shine, ya know...Sure there are shooters upon shooters but each TRIES to do something different from the rest, and each one DOES have different characters, plot, overall theme about it rather than starfox, mario, and zelda.

Dozens of Mario platformers? Lets list em, and before I do I'll say this.. DOZENS implied 24 or more, as dozens is multiple 12's.
Super Mario Brothers(NES), Super Mario Brothers 2(NES), Super Mario Brothers 2 (JP)(NES), Super Mario Brothers 3(NES), Super Mario World(SNES), Super Mario World 2(SNES), Super Mario 64(N64), Super Mario Sunshine(GCN)(man he is super), Super Mario Galaxy(WII), New Super Mario Brothers(DS), Super Mario Land(GB), Super Mario Land 2(GB), Super Mario Land 3(GB),....
Wait, thats only 9(now 14)... lets see, thats 13(9 now) shy of dozens, or did I miss 13+(9+ now) games? I wont list the Paper Mario games as they are not true platformers(cept maybe Super Paper Mario)... How many Ratchet and Clank games are there? 7 of them, wow and even had TWO release the same year (2004).. People(cows) bash Nintendo for releasing a lot of Mario games..OH wait, I just remember a few other Mario platformers.... I'll add those, not gonna add ports to other systems(Super Mario Deluxe, as it is the same game as the original). 14 games spread across 7 systems and 23 years.. so Mario has some staying power but far from old.

Dude, Mario has made appearances in over 200 GAMES within those 23 years. Thats approximately 9 video games every year since then (yeah, i know at times that actually didn't happen, but I'm just making an educated guess, I know in some years he could have appeared more or less than 9 times), versus 7 R&C games? How is that a comparison? Plus, not everyone who owns a PS brags about ratchet as much as people who own a Wii brag about Mario (please, don't say its cause Mario is better, its all about preference).

Throw in the ports, also add in All stars and its close enough. I'm not going to bother counting the exact numbers of platform releases/rehashes as I was hoping most people would get the general idea of what I'm trying to say. You sound almost offended.
It was a figure of speech with a little hint of sarcasm, which nowadays don't seem to exist. Either ways, you still cant deny the endless number of spinoffs being released under Mario's name. The fact that a spinoff (Mario Party) has already reached its eight installment is astonishing. This is my issue with Ninty, they can make great games, but they honestly need to come up with a new installment once in awhile with a fresh new universe.

Then I strongly suggest that you start hating on Final Fantasy and SquareEnix as well.
Wow, I don't think I've ever seen such fanboyism, most peoples comments, and just bashing the TC.
The fact is...He's absolutely right. I'm so sick of zelda, mario, metroid, mario kart, mario baseball, bario strikers, mario tennis, they seriously need to think of something mind blowingly new, that will satisfy gamer veterains, and newcomers alike.
another mario party or SSBB game will not do this. I mean I was sooo hyped up for Brawl, and then i played it a lot, and got bored right away, even with online!
I'm thinking ninty needs 4 new exclusives: an FPS, an adventure platformer type, an RPG, a really good party game, and one M rated game that is actually good, and has a good story and gameplay.
I don't care if they want to include "casuals", even though they don't really exist, but they need to move forward.

Made appearances. That includes at least three Zelda games, a multi-plat Basketball game, the three SSB games, as well as dozens of others in which Mario is merely a cameo, or at most a guest character. On top of that, Mario's main specialty is platforming, which have shown to have a very conservative release schedule. Granted there's all the Sports games, but while the Mario-Party series may be just a little prolific, the other games aren't. The Mario sports games and Mario Kart are invariably good quality. In fact, seeing the name Mario in the title is not only almost a guarentee of quality, but a guarentee that the game is going to be a far cry from the normal Soccer or Baseball game. When you have Mario, you also have crazy supernatural powers, and rediculous mechanics or hazards. On top of that, you have a cast of characters that you already have a fairly good idea of their stats.
Point is, it's not milking if it's what the fans want, and it's consistantly good, no, excellent quality.
Actually, the really funny thing is that Super Mario Galaxy isn't nearly as good as any of those games. TheXboxgamer73
And the really funny thing is that you think Halo 3 is more original than SMG.
Halo 3
Condemned 2
Devil May Cry 4
Ninja gaiden 2
Call of duty 2,3,4
Dead or Alive 4
Forza 2
Project Gotham Racing 3,4
Yeah the originality:roll:
