Some of the most recent games have or will haveimpressive graphics. Infact, I think Metroid: Other M has the best Wii graphics.

Yeah they look great as well as Sonic Colors and The Last Story. Its definitely more power than the Xbox but not the 360 and PS3

Looks more like yoshi story (circa N64) than a current gen game imo

Why don't people show the actual true power of the game they are using to prove their point instead of using HD pictures of the game.

I do think the Wii is much better graphically than most people on this board will want to admit, however graphics don't matter too much to me. I buy games because I find I look for FUN, not for "ZOMG MOVIE CGI LEVEL GRAPHIX". So I tend to stray away from this whole HD "phenomenon". At least I call it that, since I've no idea why it matters so much.Cloud_765

It matters because we got fixed pixel displays which look kinda ugly when all of its pixels are not filled and its forced to upscale. It sucks for the Wii. It can output 720p, but Nintendo locked devs out of that option I heard. It doesn't help that its not much of a graphical powerhouse though. I would much rather have native resolution THEN focus on the graphic fidelity. Native resolution = clearer picture. I like that better than stretched images that blur the graphics.

I buy games for the Wii cause its Nintendo really. Its what I started gaming on. They have more games every gen that I find fun than other consoles. Their games are fun and have awesome gameplay also, some of the best imo.

I do hope Nintendo does another Gamecube/N64 and turns their next console into a powerhouse. Conker looked the best of the PS1/N64 gen Im sure, and Resident Evil 4 looked better than any game last gen except maybe GoW2. I really want a fantastic looking Zelda game. Too bad they don't dev for PC.

Kirby Epic Yarn looks better than any game the HD consoles have put out this entire year. Powerful graphics means nothing now a days.

LBP2 is 'everythinger'. I'm in the beta (which admittedly has only a couple MM created levels) but below are two videos. Ahem your both wrong :P. Technically speaking the PowerPC is more efficient per mhz, BUT it is much harder to acheave higher clock speeds while the P3 was less efficient but had more brute power. PowerPC the GC & Wii use arent exactly ideal for gaming, but it gets teh job done. The Wii's CPU is actually comparable to that of the xbox, but its not like 3x stronger. Wii's GPU also has more brute power than xbox 1, but has an outdated feature set compared to it. The Wii is very close to an xbox 1 & that is perfectly fine. Nintendo never intended for it to be a graphical power house. 3x stronger than an xbox would mean somewhere a bit lower than xbox 360 leve & obviously that is not the case.

Yeah, this was always my problem with it as well. Nothing wrong with simplistic graphics, but the lack of HD resolution made the Wii painful for myself, as I wanted to go HD this gen. Hurts the eyes when the picture is stretched that large.

Wii games like SMG.2, Metroid: Other M and Kirby Epic Yarn do indeed look good. The only problem is the low resoultion which looks poor on HDTVs. They could atleast give the Wii some more RAM, so that games could run atleast in semi-HD resolutions.

"Impressive" to what standard? Not this generation... at least in terms of technical proficiency. That's for sure. In terms of art design, its fine, but art design isn't inherently tied to a generation, since it doesn't require technical proficiency to be good.

I'd say Metroid: Other M is the best looking game the Wii is sporting right now. In terms of technical prowess and artistic design.

I love the Wii, but I agree there aren't many games that can actually show what it can do. Games like Other M, Shattered Memories, SMG1/2, The Conduit, MH3, and some others are great, but I'd argue that a majority are really bad compared to this.
