but this thread is about the Wii
Sigh, read the thread or the argument we were arguing more carefully.
What I was saying even if you do not compare to the Wii or leave it out of the equation, exclusive is still the priority consideration among gamers cause the PS3 and X360 are basically doing the same thing!
If games appear on BOTH platforms, then what's to prevent me from buying the cheapest one? This is where Sony will loose BIG! The only factor is Blu-Ray. But if the guy doesnt't want blu-ray and Sony uses multi=plats to attract him.....Well, Sony gonna loose if this is the case!
Dude you are talking as if ps3 doesnt have exlcusives yes it had a sucky 2007 but look at 2008 .GT5:p,mgs4,mlb 08 are out already .Pluse resistance 2,lbp,disgaea 3,Valkyria,tekken 6,motorstorm 2,socom and more are coming. But thats not the point the point is that there are other factors supporting the ps3.Blu ray is one.Why are you forgetting psn which is the best console online service for free which includes wii,psp,ds,ps2.Plus there is rrod and the fact that you can use custom accesories like hardrive etc. with the ps3.Whereas with the wii the only major thing I see supporting is the price. And price IMO doesnt decide how good a system is unless its waaaaaaayyy too overpriced like ps3 was at launch .Anyways why are we even dicussing this the thread is about the wii
Its not that i hate the WII..i just dont understand why THIS console is the highest selling thing on the market.
online sucks (Brawl for me lags like no tommrow, no mics, nothing)
no DLC, (to support games..like brawl could add more charaters)
Weak tech. (obvious)
hardly a good marketplace (the Wii store channel is ok but is no XBL marketplace, with movies, shows, etc..)
Not a good multimedia device (although its a gameing console but i do like to do other things as well like IDK watch a movie?)
3rd party games are a crapfest..(not all just alot ive seen) and most good games are from nintendo..
Controller IMO fails HARD..sometimes im close to my tv and its just a pain in my little room..i sit on the bed in order to play.(only applies to games like Zelda:TP)
All in all i just dont understand what makes this console so special..everything about it sucks or is not as good as the other consoles..to me the only reason why it sold was because it had Zelda, and mario on it and a new controller.now remember this is IMO..so i can say whatever i want..and i just going to say it..its not that good of a console at all..they completly missed the hardcore market with this console..and completly forgot about them..they went all casual on us and show that they dont care about so many things that make gameing what it is today..so what if you have a new controller..Big Fing woop you still dont care about online which is a very big part in console gameing today..they just forget that you cant keep innovating with the same games slap a new controller on it and call it a day..it dosent work like that..i dont want to keep playing zelda with some stupid gimmick of a controller and pretend like im having fun..and dont say...Well your just being stupid or nintndo has some good games..ive seen enough for me to make a opinion on it and its this..
IMO WII is one of the worst console to hit in a long time..

I third this. As well, I find it funny when PS3 fanboys decide to say that the Wii has no games just because MGS 4 came out and got a 10. People like to forget about Galaxy, GOTY last year, in a year that saw amazing games. Was there even a nominee that was PS3 exclusive that even had a chance? I also count 48 games for the Wii that have a rating of 8.0, a lot of them being exclusive. Meanwhile, the PS3 has 53 that are above 8.0, many of them can be found on the 360 or the Wii as well. There are only about 3 or 4 exclusive3 games on that list. So I wouldn't be arrogant at this point if I were a PS3 fanboy.[QUOTE="Opex07"]No one has proved me wrong, the only people talking about backwards compatibility are acting like its only applied to gaming when it is a much broader term.
taken from several different sites:
Backward compatible (or sometimes backward-compatible or backwards compatible) refers to a hardware or software system that can successfully use interfaces and data from earlier versions of the system.
Backwards compatible-Able to share data or commands with older versions of itself, or sometimes other older systems, particularly systems it intends to supplant. Sometimes backward compatibility is limited to being able to read old data but does not extend to being able to write data in a format that can be read by old versions.
backwards compatible-Compatible with earlier models or versions of the same product. A new version of a program is said to be backward compatible if it can use files and data created with an older version of the same program.
I dont know why you guys are hung up on the physical storage of the data when the only thing wanted in any form of backwards compatibility is the data. Which is what VC does, emulates existing data

You heard it here first ladies and gentleman.
Neo Geo, Sega Master System, Sega Genesis, Turbo Grapfix 16. They were all made and are all Nintendo Systems of the past
from earlier versions of the system.
(are Neo Geo, Sega Master System, etc.. not data from earlier gaming systems? no where does it say limited to a certain device. the Wii a gaming system, is using data from earlier versions of gaming systems).
with older versions of itself, or sometimes other older systems.
(that clearly says other older systems, but it doesnt matter since the Wii a gaming system is using data from other older gaming systems).
Compatible with earlier models or versions of the same product
(Neo Geo, Sega Master, etc.. are they not all games, being of the same product?).
Im not exactly sure why you highlighted those parts.

DUDE:
You are completely ignoring the original point of argument and changing the rules to SUIT your argument!
The original argument was multiplats on the X360 and PS3 DO matter cause the Wii isn't getting them so exclusives are a minor player in things.
Now that I'm basically saying that EXCLUSIVES STILL matter even between the PS3 and X360 by using what would happen if you use multi-plats as an example, you changed the rule of the game to suit your whim...wth? Make up your mind here!

That's the thing Opex did not understand.
If what he says is true, then the X360 is BC with the arcades, the DC, and various other consoles too because it has XBLA!
But is XBLA a BC? Of course not! It's a SERVICE that provides gamers with a DOWNLOADING capability to play games that the normal X360 does not offer! BIG difference!
I'm in the same boat. I bought into the hype at launch with all these sweet games coming, then I ended up selling it months later because the consol was utter garbage. People can like the wii thats fine, but stop acting like the Wii is the best thing to happen to gaming. It isn't and never will be.Its not that i hate the WII..i just dont understand why THIS console is the highest selling thing on the market.

XBLA does not emulate old data, everything offerd in XBLA is updated in some way, unlike VC.

Neo Geo, TG16, C64, etc...are all Earlier versions of gaming systems, once again none of my links says anything about backwards compatibility being locked to only past iterations of a certain system. They are all earlier versions/models of gaming systems.

You just proved that the Wii lineup + the entire Virtual console lineup (a lineup consisting of 20+ years of games) has even less games than the the crappy PS3 lineup (consisting of only two years). Nice job.
