[QUOTE="Vampyronight"]I was expecting another jibberish thread citing something from Nintendo, but this was actually reasonably well thought out.
The only flaw I can think of is the fact that the Wii hasn't been out for very long, which makes it hard to argue either way. I mean, I want to wait until at least the end of the year and after the holiday sales have been counted before I really weigh in. If at years end, Carnival Games and Horsez (and other similar games) outsell MP3 and SMG, THEN the haters are spot on.

What? They haven't been why would they be now?
What I'm saying is that the generation is young, and if the Wii really is expanding the audience, we're far too early to even begin having a factually based argument about this generation.
Here's a possibility- Nintendo expand the market. In the process, absolute garbage games begin to sell a lot more frequently. Likewise, highly praised games don't sell a lot more frequently. This would suggest that game quality is becoming less of a factor in sales, which is the precise opposite of what all gamers want.
Look, the fact is you've selectively chosen games to cite to support your case, while someone who is anti-Wii could rearrange the facts and make an argument to support their case. Of course there are great games that sell terribly and of course their are terrible games that sell great. That proves nothing. I bet if we could get sales for all games, a significant majority of the best selling games did score 8 or higher here, while a vast majority of the worst selling games scored poorly here. So long as this balance isn't shifted, then the argument from Wii-haters is null. But if we get to the end of the year and the top selling games are for example sub-5 scoring games on the Wii, then yeah, there is an argument to be made.
