Overrated, casual garbage that taints the reputation of the art in general. Yeah yeah, theres a little bit of good in it, but there's also so much junk that the good is negated in the long run. Just don't buy it. Please....XanaduTheBand
And your post is just as creative.
You obviously don't listen to real rap and hip hop, cause if you did then you wouldn't have posted this garbage!
As a matter of fact, what the **** do you listen to?

It seems you were bron in the 90's so really don't say nothing about the style of music
Actually if you read my post I said that their was some goodin each but the sheer amount (like 95%) of it is garbage. What do I listen to? I listen to classical piano, guitar, electronica (a blanket for all forms of techno e.g. pop, jungle, progressive, house, etc.), blues (my fav and no please don't compar this to rap...its like comparing the Hilton father to paris  ) , vocalists, rock, big band, jazz, RAP, and others just to name a few.You obviously don't listen to real rap and hip hop, cause if you did then you wouldn't have posted this garbage!

Don't place it on just rap music...
All it does it show that you're hating on agenre of music you don't know anything about.
If you are talking about the newer Rappers (50cent, Lil Jon, and whatever) then I agree.
But if you're talking about Tupac, Run DMC, Biggie Smalls, Snoop Dogg (basically most of the classical rappers) and some of the newer rappers like Ludacris then I disagree. Their music is really great and have some great beats.
But just for the sake of poking holes in your analogy, I'm going to remind you that no matter how much you hate it, rap music is currently the most listened to type of music. Just like Wii is currently the most wanted.

Why bash rap when you listen to it? :| There's more to it than what you see on mtv2 you know. For a person who listens to just about every genre of music I thought you would be smart enough to know this instead of bash what you obviously don't know aboutover the Internet.

I do agree you new school rap is crap I can't agree with about rock I really never got into old school rock besides Hendrix and Bob Dylan. I more of a Hardcore and Grindcore kind of person when it comes to rock.

I am a rocker guy myself but I dont mind droppin some rap tunes once and a while, especially for parties since a lot of people do enjoy rap music. And the traditional rappers like the ones you listed I really enjoy, the new stuff is generally garbage, although I used tolike Nelly and the St Lunatics whenI was younger, not so much now considering I think Nelly kind of sold out instead of doing his own thing like he did with STL. I would not say that rap is the most listened to style of music, I guarantee that more people on this planet listen to rock seeing as how it spans a few generations, including mine and our parents generations and even before that during the early 50's rock was popular and still is. Rap is no doubt the most mainstream popularity wise but mainly teenagers and young adults actually listen to it. I have never met anyone my dads age who listens to rap thats for sure.
Shut the heck up and pop lock and drop it, boys.TheGrossPervert
It's the kind of mainstream crap like that song that gives rap a bad name...

Just like nintendo and rock did in the 90's the majority of the rap community has sold itself to the lowest common denominator. It's just a mostly watered down experience that is a mere fragment of what it used to stand for. It sickens me, really....[QUOTE="XanaduTheBand"]Overrated, casual garbage that taints the reputation of the art in general. I don't own a PS3 yet....maybe when it's les than $300 I'll think about it. And after the GC (which up until the Wii I have owned every Nintendo system short of the DS and thats only because I don't play enough games anymore to justify a purchase...plus I would rather carry a bok around) I don't think I'll ever get another Ninty system . I feel really burned after the GC
People like crap, that's a fact easly proved by the success of 50cent and reality TV.
In order to sell al lot, you have to give people what they want, and unfortunately, most people like crap. We're gonna see dozens of britney spears before we see an Alicia Keys.
I am curious as to know why the mods have not permanently banned XanaduTheBand. WTF mods? Seriously, this guy is nothing more then an annoying troll who should have been banned permanetly a while ago.DSgamer64pffff, give me an example of a time I have blatently trolled without bringing up a valid point (except the the now and again - and I mean maybe once or twice a year- where I admitidly make an obvious flame-bait post). Sorry I disagree with you on cetain topics. Mabye everyone who shares a different opinion than you should leave?

the wii is the gaming as 50 cent is to rap...one of the best to do it
Rap is better than most of the crap out now... and that's saying alot considering rap really sucks right now. Look back at rap in the 90s and earlier. It's way better than what we have now. And that's a fact. d_eM_sWhat about Will-I-Am, K-Os, and all the other revolutionary lyricists? Rap is still well alive.

Ugh!!! Today's rap is just horrible, but It's still popular!!! So this thread does fail!!!
On a side note: I pretty much listen to old-school rap now and days!!! Today's rappers can't compare to Biggie Smalls, Tupac, and Twista (in the 90's)!!!
In other words, different people with different tastes.
I happen to be extremely qualified in music. Rap certainly isn't my favorite genre, but I enjoy listening to it. Just like every other genre though, the commercial stuff is all garbage.
The TC is saying that some rap is good, but the garbage drains it out.
True,true...
Modern-day Good rappers(no dudes from before 2000):
Papoose
Saigon
Chamillionaire
Trae
CrookedI
Garbage:
Nelly
D4L
ShopBoyz
Lil'Jon
DFB
and a lot of one-hit wonders out of Atlanta
I agree with your analogy but I highly disagree with your reasoning. Rap music is casual friendly but if you look hard enough you can find depth to it. The same goes for Wii.
examples in rap you have rappers like 50 Cent, and Lil Jon and you have emcee's like MF DOOM, and Common
and likewise in gaming you have casual games like Madden, and Wii Sports, and like harcore games like No More Heroes and SSBB.
