[QUOTE="dracula_16"]Way too high of a score. 6.5 should be reserved for games that actually have structure and a purpose. Zhengi
While lower scores should be reserved for games like Too Human, Haze, and Lair ;)
Correct. I would rather play Wii music than any of those.

just a comparison to show how pathetic the other group is :PHave your fun by arguing over a senseless, or rather moot point? Actually, I just find it hiliarious how those so called hardcore games were beaten by Wii Music, the worst game to ever be released in video game history
The Sheepest of Sheep(that's dirty!!) came on here proclaiming how Wii Music > Rock Band & GH last night. Honestly this game was an epic fail compared to anything else...... ANYTHING!!!SonyMarksman70not socom though :P
So it's better than one of the biggest flops this gen (Too Human) and in the same quality of a broken game (Socom).
Yes! Nintendo does it again!
All the things aside I would probably buy this game if I had kids.

It flopped, thank god. We can move on with our lives. I never liked this game. I don't know what Nintendo was ever thinking releasing this game. At least there are other titles to look forward to.luigigreen
I wonder how Wii Sports 2 will do.
Come on, did you really think we expected great reviews of WiiMusic from gaming sites like this one? It's another tech demo that shows off something kind of cool, but let's face it, it's not really a game as most people would define one. I think as soon as it was revealed that this wasn't like GH or RB, a lot of people decided that it was a dumb idea. However, it still sounds like it'll be fun even for a short time.
Personally I'm looking forward to the classic videogame music that it offers. Maybe it's not the best bang for your buck, but it'll still sell and provide plenty of people with a fun time over the holidays.

Well Nintendo sheep would be the right discription
anyways
I think that Wii Music has several layers of complexity in it..
It looks like most of the review sites only touched the first layer when they are discribing it as a simple toy that is fun for short bursts or multiplayer..
But the crux of this product is that the melodical as well as rythmical aspects of music are an undermined role in the concept. The big roleis shifted into harmony... you can call it an overall management or coordination of different sounds to edit it into an enjoyable piece..
and that is.. quite a challenge... you could say Wii music is a one man band simulator... and thats a layer only the real hardcore musical people will ever reach into... to bad that gamespot, IGN etc are so casual when it comes to music.
Yes Guitar Hero and Rockband (which are available for the Wii anyway) are music games that are harder to play.. but they dont allow you to edit the piece and interpret into a totally different piece.. (the most you can do is slow down or speed up) Its sad to see people calling Wii music a casual piece of crap when it is actually..
probably the most hardcore music game ever released..
[QUOTE="luigigreen"]It flopped, thank god. We can move on with our lives. I never liked this game. I don't know what Nintendo was ever thinking releasing this game. At least there are other titles to look forward to.Bread_or_Decide

Thats kinda examplating what im trying to say
Wii sports is actually a very very layered product..
it is casually fun but for people that get really into it it can be a very hardcore experience..
The Content is not as explanatory as most of the games but is hidden in the interface itself... The most plastic example would be tennis.. People that really enjoy tennis get the most out of it while people that dont understand the velocity of a ball or the timing when it should be hit see it as "waggle".
its kinda sad that hardcore gamers dismissed it as casual gibberish when it is actually simulating the real world better then lets say Top Spin 3. you still see many people playing Wii Sports after 2 years of its initial release.. its the same as real tennis or whatever sports..
I think People that used to watch sports.. wont be interested because it is not simulating the big league sports. but people that enjoy playing a little tennis or bowling in their free time will love it.. Same with Wii music.. People that actually do some composing or actually learn conducting might find it really fascinating.. While people that usually hear music will want to mimick only the tunes they are used to hear...
Similar things can be said about Wii Fit as well by the way
it is an extremely good product to actually stay fit if you do it every morning... The board constantly checks your wight and balance and that is a very very important part of staying healthy.. People that argue that it is easier to go out and jog for a while fail to see that Wii Fit is cutting out a lot of stages and making the process easier.. When you play Wii Fit at home you wont have to get yourself dressed to jog.. you are right at home and can do it.. even naked if you want to.. so for people that actually are interested in loosing weight or maintaining balance it is extremely useful while people that are not interested in these aspect (in some cases maybe because they dont have the will to stay fit anyway) will see it as gimmicks..

Wii sports, if done right, could be an AAA title because it will be the first game to use the WMP.but of course as part of the Wii series it will end up A IMO.
Pretty much what I expected it to get. The only reason people are "shocked" that it got as "high" as 6.5 is because of fanboyism, or hatred of "teh casuals." A fairly average score for a very average game.
Not my kind of game - and neither is WiiFit - but I'll defend to the death anyones right to play it. Casuals need games too.
Ninja Bread Man, however, should be used as a punishment for criminals. Video game piracy should be punished by forcing them to play it as well as Billy the Wizard, Anubis II and Rock n' Roll Adventures. Prisons will forever be haunted by the screams of NO!!! YOU CAN'T MAKE ME....BUT ITS THE SAME GAME!!!! TURN IT OFF! TURN IT OFF!!!
But then, it is enough of a game to be better than Too Human, Haze, and Lair ;)
Zhengi
Ok. I never mentioned Too Human, Haze, or Lair. I know you are enjoying trolling bad games in this thread, but I never mentioned any system or any game besides Wii Music.
If you feel the need to qualify which crappy game is better, go right on ahead, though.

You do know that you can create songs in GH WT? In fact, a crew at Activision made a cover version of Smells Like Teen Spirit which was supposed to be quite good.
Oh boy are nintendo fans going to spend this entire gen explaining how "deep and complex" wii music is? Its SSBB all over again. Bread_or_DecideWHOA WHOA WHOA!!!
SSBB is deep :|
:P
At least wii owners have a lot more great games coming out this Fall... Altough I can't think of a single one. Getting another game system was the best thing I did for my gaming this gen. I think if I had remained wii only I probably would'nt have continued gaming.
I remember when the 1up score came out and a few nuts were saying it would score high here, I said that score would be an abberation given who was reviewing it (and considering that site gave stuff like We Ski an even higher score than they gave Wii Music.)
It's not a game for traditional gamers, that's all.
Does anyone still want to talk about Wii Music anymore? Just, who cares. It's not a good game, move on.

Im Aware of that and thats the main reason why i will choose GH WT
but then again.. this feature is not accessable to most of the gamers..
It will be much like LBP.. a lot of people will try the creator mode and will see it as too complicated...
Trust me Daigasso Band Bros and Band Bros DX are similar to that.. they have a very very good editor mode.. but it is so good that it is actually to complex as you have to consider about 6 different instruments in harmony..
The result is that most of the people just dont use it and go to the download ucc part..
I mean same with built a skate park or create a wrestler modes.. These modes were great dont get me wrong.. But those were not joyful themselves.. It was fun to play the created result in the normal modes.. The modes were complementary.
Wii music is different because the editing part is shifted into the main part.. It is simplified so that you can actually can play it..
The drastic differences between the Wii music concept and the create a tune concept is that Wii music sets the melodical aspects. You cannot change the main tune and only choose from 50 songs. All you are concerned about are the harmony part. Of course you can do that in the create a tune concept.. But you need to consider speed, rythm, melody, harmony, instrument coordination.. Thats something you learn at Music School.. It is hard work and not a game by itself..
While the create a tune concept is just a translation of a composing or conducting process Wii music is a simulation of these processes that tries to make it into an enjoyable fun experience

the Wii holiday season line up:
Animal crossing
Wii music
Guitar hero
Rock Band
Call of Duty
all of them are system sellers and i'm not getting any of them, at least not for Wii. Though i have to say Wiiware is having a great holiday thus far.
Nice, some justice. Mostly because, I think a few other flops had a bit too many topics, or so I assume, I was too busy playing one of the flops. :P110millionwhich flop was that? :P
[QUOTE="Zhengi"]Comparing cross-platform games which are graded upon different standards in vastly, vastly, different genres. Brilliant. But then, it has enough of a game to be better than Too Human, Haze, and Lair ;)

That doesn't stop people from putting DL games like Braid ( only because it got AAAE here on GS ) against full retail games like MGS4,LBP and etc.

No I think he did not really review the game at all
He was stucked into the first layer of the game and could not go into the second layer. its sad really to see a reviewer of a highly regarded site not understanding the concept of a game or maybe refusing to reach into it..
But then again it is Nintendos fault to market this as a musical toy and not showing the deep aspects of the game..
