I'm sorry, it's not very good.
Just because you keep endlesly posting about it doesn't make you right and every other reviewer wrong.
It's just not a good game.RuprechtMonkey
That would mean that the reviewer has a higher understanding on the game
But sentences like
It's hard to explain, but there's a certain joy that comes from waving the remote around in a carefree manner and hearing the music that plays as a result.Gamespot Review
do not give me the impression that he spend a lot of time, effort in understanding the crux of the review
sure its not as bias as the GS Zelda TP review where Giantbomb founder J. Gerstmann expressed hardware shortcommings on a game review.. (i thought it was a game review not a hardware review) but its just uninformed and does not show a lot of understanding.. I would prefer the blog post of Jeremy Parish over this review as a more substantiated opinion on the game.

And i think you are missing my point. I have no interest to proove that this game is good. I will buy it when it comes out in europe and enjoy it when it is here.. I am lamenting the fact that one of the biggest review site just fails to think outside of the box.
Well a big difference would be that games like Socom, Too Human, Lair and Haze follow a set formular..Socom is a well known series.. it will be judged by other iterations.. Lair is basically a Rogue Squadron game with Dragon Skin.. Haze is a FPS game.. and Too human a game like PSO or Diablo II..It's definately a bad game but the irony is that it scored around the same as big time exclusives like Socom, Too Human, Lair, haze etc

I wonder how Wii Sports 2 will do.
Quite well I'm hoping. It actually looks pretty intriguing.
I'm amazed at the amount of people who are scared of Wii Music, there's no much venom in this thread. Also, why are people saying it flopped? I wasn't aware it had hype - hell, this topic isn't even a sticky (unlike, say, for example, if I really had to say, ooooooh, Lair, Too Human, Haze).
I swear, the only people who really got excited about Wii Music were hardcore cows and lemmings, who were presumably trembling in fear at 't3h kiddy casual', running to their darkened basements to prepare for the death of gaming and set up a resistance against some sort of Nintendo-instigated gaming holocaust.
I think it's pretty good it got an ok review score - it still shows that it's still possible to just pick up a game and have fun, without needing flashy graphics or guns or tactics or 4 different difficulty levels.

The Ultimate Casual game to me is Tetris. I don't think I knew a single mother who didn't play that game. Its all my mom ever played and she loved it. Notice that it was casual but also a real game. Yes a game can be both without being stupid and pandering like Wii Music which is nothing but a toy for toddlers.

I'm just glad it flopped big time so we can move on with our lives. Guitar Hero World Tour is one week away. Thats the music game to be watching. Custom Tool level FTW!
How did it flop? Nobody hyped it :|
So has anyone (pro or con) in these couple of hundred posts actually played the game, or is this just armchair general time?
I agree with the comment about the venom. In my 34 years of gaming I have never seen such a violent reaction to a simple game. Perhaps you could use this energy to help get the world out of recession, or do something else useul.
Me, I have two young kids, and am intrigued by this new take on the music genre, so may buy it.
Take care

Wii sports, if done right, could be an AAA title because it will be the first game to use the WMP.but of course as part of the Wii series it will end up A IMO.
I doubt it. Not with games like playing frisbee with a dog. And that Jet Ski game seemed really broken.
I'll play hardware and software Sales Figures, quality games have been a no since SSBB for the wiiAgentA-Mi6
even that felt like a tired trudge through rehashville

MarloStanfield
A 6 equates to "fair" or "average" as in the old system, certainly not bad.
Anyway, I guess this is a fairly nice score for all involved. It's not a bad enough score to be as bad as many assumed it would be but it's also not good enough for a massive nintendo retribution.

Just because anyone can play it doesn't mean it's a toy for toddlers. Occasionally we all want a time to relax and do something simple and easy, yet enjoyable and fulfilling; it's the seconds best feeling in the world (the best, of course, is drowsing in bed listening to other people have to get up and go to work, all the time knowing you can drowse indefinately n_n ). If you don't know what that feeling is, I pity you. And if you don't understand why people like that feeling, I pity you. We spend the first 30 years of our life trying to be older and the rest trying to be younger.
EDIT: I thought of something extra. Stupid and pandering like, say, Lair? When they sent out the reviewers guide after terrible reviews? When they expected players to be so taken in by the shiny graphics that they wouldn't notice that the dragon was going the WRONG BLOODY WAY?

the Wii holiday season line up:
Animal crossing
Wii music
Guitar hero
Rock Band
Call of Duty
all of them are system sellers and i'm not getting any of them, at least not for Wii. Though i have to say Wiiware is having a great holiday thus far.
Ugh, I'm sorry but compared to the other two consoles that is an extremely weak line up.
weak? are you serious? Weak is a freaking complement! use a better word next time >_>[QUOTE="nintendo-4life"][QUOTE="Darthmatt"]At least wii owners have a lot more great games coming out this Fall... Oh, how about you compare what games the Xbox 360 received this year that the Wii didn't. Since you're so adamant on singling out the Xbox 360 and Wii.I really don't think the game is as bad as all these more 'core' reviewers are making out. I mean comparitively Electroplankton is similar, in that it's just a musical toy that you can't do much with other than mess around with every now and then, but it's not a bad game in any way. It's just something that some people will have fun with and others will not. Much like any musical toy.Impurekind
The difference is Wii Music is mass market, popular. Electroplankton is niche.
Not a surprise, though I hoped for a 7.0, because it would have been funny.TAKE_IT_BACK
haha having wii music score higher then socom would have been too much :)
was expecting this to get 4.0 or so. They described it as shallow, easy, not enough game modes etc yet it still scored a 6.5 what the...
nearly everyone on SW saw a low score coming for this game thou so didnt really surprise anyone

I'm not singling out anything, I'm just pointing out that the Wii got much better exclusives than the 360 this and this will continue next year

Why single out the Xbox 360 then? Why not the PS3? PC? Eh, lad? Oh that's right -- because you DID single out the Xbox 360.Presenting a point -- means I'm "very defensive"? Interesting.

Becuse you have marcus fenix, master chief and wrex in your sig. It's even more applicable to the PS3, exclusives are a rarity on both consoles these days, never mind quality ones.

You're definately sensitive to criticism of the 360 and overrated titles like mass effect. Relax fella, they're only videogames

...I'd say the Wii is a toy. The 360 and PS3 can be used for pracitcal purposes (movies, video conferencing, talking with friends as a quasi-phone, etc.)

also using that definition, it's fair to say that all games (except maybe brain exercise games) are toys. played on a quasi-toy.
