Actually you can use the WiiMote to operate the OSYou can use the Wii Remote but to navigate the OS but you need the tablet to log into your Nintendo Network account. ahh, I was under the impression you needed it to navigate the homescreen.Â[QUOTE="nini200"][QUOTE="Jonwh18"] You need the tablet to operate the system's OS....Â

Oh yeah. I use to have it automatically log in but my Nephew screwed up my WiiU so now i have to log in. Now its passworded.[QUOTE="silversix_"]I know its very hard to accept for the Nintendo defence crew but take a deep breath, think what i said for second and accept facts here. No one will be dumb enough to chose an outdated relic that can't even play dvds instead of a next gen system that can play dvds and bluray Calls a console that streams video but does not play DVD outdated, yet calls next gen consoles that can use what is at best a luxury feature. The irony is deep. Besides, who the heck would buy a console for Blu-ray feature when they already have a PS3 or Blu-ray player?Bluray OR dvd is just a plus, you don't buy a system for that. Now lets see... You have bluray, dvd, hardware 10 times more powerful than ps3, every game a gamer should care+more for $399. WiiU: no dvd, no bluray, 32gb flash memory LOL, forced pad no one else but the most hardcore sheep wants, equal or even weaker than a ps3, none existent 3rd party support now or in the near future (where is mgs5/gta5/tw3/destiny/bf4/dark souls 2? yeaaaah thought so), yearly mario spam as the main attraction of the system sold for $300  if that's not laughable in comparison i really don't know what could be. Its more pathetic than Wii vs 360 rofl...[QUOTE="Jonwh18"] dumbass

NOthing which cant be fixed with a firmware update. One hell of one that would take up the entire space. Besides, that would fragment Nintendo's base even further (and TVTropes would have a field day).A $50 price drop is a lame compromise for what is a very archaic gimmicky system.
Â
Not that I'd be wasting my money if they charged people what it's worth. I'll be getting PS4 X1 and PC next gen. Skipping Kidtendo again.

[QUOTE="bbkkristian"]Wait, didnt we just have a $50 Vita price drop? With those memory card prices, the price drop should have been lower as well. Lolcampzor$100 price drop > $50 price drop. Desperate damage control, dont change the subject ^ Vita has nothing to do with the Wii U though Sony should have made the Vita $180 and bundled it with a 4GB.

Both Sony (with the Vita) and Nintendo (with the Wii U) finally woke up. Neither have fully awoken. Both systems still need a lot of work done to them.[QUOTE="charizard1605"]Someone explain to me what just happenedBigboi500
Yeah, the console is $100 less than the PS4 and comes with online play and a Zelda game, albeit a remake. Plus, its lineup is going to be about 10x better than the other 2 consoles. This should help the sales a lot this holiday season.
Demonjoe93
Firstly, this isn't a *bad* move, but it's still delusional. I'm trying to wrap my head around how Nintendo thinks it can compete this fall with the PS4 and Xbox One by keeping it at the same price as the PS4, and by launching a remake of a decade-old game (that doesn't even NEED a makeover -- if people wanted to play WindWaker, they'd dust off their regular Wii) as their apparent "system seller." It's just so disheartening.REVOLUTIONfreakI hope you aren't planning on buying a PS4 for $299. You are going to be very disappointed this fall.

1 to 2 weeks early and $10 cheaper, digital sales would skyrocket.Â

Nintendo has done this a few times, only you get a credit in the amount of 10% toward future eshop purchases rather than just getting the game $10 cheaper. I'm not sure if the Zelda bundle will still have that 10% credit on digital purchases, though. Honestly, I wasn't even aware that my model had the feature until about a month ago. Nintendo really needs to do a better job of advertising the things they are doing right.Damn I wanted a price cut on the $299 model. Bread_or_DecideI would expect that you could go to the stores very soon if not today and see them get a heavy discount while supplies last. They have to clear space and nobody is going to buy them at $299 now.
It's a bundle, though. If you want Wind Waker, you save $60 there.Well at least it's not $350. I don't think $50 is enough of a price cut.
Seabas989
Well it's probably the last and only pricecut it's getting.ÂWell at least it's not $350. I don't think $50 is enough of a price cut.
Seabas989
Price is still wrong for me. They need to drop it another $50. It's a good start, but I still won't be getting on anytime soon.

If someone could clear this up. Is the Deluxe going to sit at $299.99? Or is that just the Deluxe edition + Wind Waker?PonchoTacoBoth are going to be at $299 because why would the deluxe be $349.99 and the Deluxe + Wind Waker HD be cheaper so they will be the same price I think.
I think they need to drop it $50 more and at a bigger Hard Drive and they should be good.
Damn the 2DS is hideous.
timbers_WSU
At least a 120GB HDD. It does come with a packin game which they need to keep it that way for ever. If they raised the storage to 120GB and added another popular game, it would be worth $300.

It doesn't even have a hard drive at this point. Flash storage is more expensive than hard drive storage, but the console would have to be completely redesigned to accommodate a hard drive. It just isn't going to happen, at least in the near future. The system does at least let you connect an external hard drive, and those are pretty cheap. I have 2 TB of storage that I acquired for about $90.Someone explain to me what just happenedcharizard1605#dS still doing a bit slow and in West, PSvita price drop makes it the same price, Wii U is selling badly. Give Wii U price cut, make cheaper DS that won't make them lose money with a price drop, and then hope that will make up for the Wii U loss in its price cut.
Both are going to be at $299 because why would the deluxe be $349.99 and the Deluxe + Wind Waker HD be cheaper so they will be the same price I think. Ah, so when the bundle of Wind Waker is gone, it will still be $299.99. I just might have to pick it up before that happens.[QUOTE="PonchoTaco"]If someone could clear this up.
