Wii U: A look at the graphics it can put out (lots of images)

That is Pikmin 3. I find it impressive that it looks this good while having 100+ characters on screen at once.

Next up is New Super Mario Bros U, which while it looks plain I believe the backgrounds are stunning. Reminds me (somewhat) of Rayman Origins

Next up is ZombiU, a Wii U exclusive from Ubisoft. I think the lighting is pretty good.

I'm most blown away by Pikmin 3 surprisingly enough. I also think ZombiU looks even better in motion. What do you guys thnk?

UPDATE: At the suggestion of user I'm putting some higher res Pikmin screens

Also, it's really comical the dramatic difference in comments on this thread and one running over at NeoGAF. Its like polar opposites. I guess that's what a stricter system and requiring a non-free email do to a board.

Pikmin 3 is foilage king.

ZombiU looked great in motion, but Pikmin 3 blew me the hell away. It looks beautiful.

It looks good but close to what the PS3 and 360 can do.

Try it wiht the games that actually look good. Those games look smallfry compared to PS3 and 360.

Well that's a load of crap. I watched it live on HD cable (not some crappy compressed web stream), and my first reaction was actually it might look slightly WORSE. I would hope in the end the product will at least look a little better. But unless someone comes out with the tech specs that it is running at 1080p or some higher level settings, I'm going with my gut reaction that it actually looked about on par if not slightly worse. Maybe it's 1080p but with lower settings in other areas that made it look worse on television, all I know was it certainly didn't look notably better.

Those Pikmin 3 pics remind me a lot of Viva Pinata. Not leaps and bounds better than it to imo.

Yea, I find all the people saying Pikmin 3 looks bad distressing for the future of the industry. Everything else you call crap if you want but Pikmin looks really good, especially when you consider 100+ things are on screen at once.

Good, but for a next-gen console......... it competes with the current gen of competitors....

Playstation and Xbox's next gen consoles will have WAY better graphics, IMO.

Pikman is easily the best looking game

I think one drawback it'll have graphically and something a lot of people are forgetting is that it's gonna be using X amount of processing and graphics power to render and stream whatever's happening on the controller, the controller has no hardware of that sort in it at all, so if you have a game with a big 3D load on both screens (like Pikmin appears to) then that's going to take a toll on the main screen graphics.bobbetybob

Don't you dare apply logic to a game running in 720p/1080p on one screena and 480p on another screen at the same time while showing 100+characters on each screen.
