Owning a Wii U does feel like a status symbol of intelligence this generation. I've never felt bad for owning one.

Who cares if nintendo has a hundred high rated exclusive if only a few people give 2 shits about them.
Yea if your playing the meta game Wiiu has the one up,but end of the day it doesint matter how well a game scores if I dont care about said game in the first place.

According to the sales many people seem to care about these nintendo exclusives, sadly same cannot be said about xbox/ps4 exclusives so far
Aye the WiiU easily justifies itself and stands on its own. The same cant be said so plainly of the Xbone or PS4, expecially when you take the blinders off and see that the PC is dominating this gen harder than the PS2 dominated the Cube & Xbox..

Yet all those highly rated exclusives still couldn't save the Wii U. Also, people need to drop this notion that exclusives are inherently superior to multiplatform games. The best third party multiplatform games are just as good as the best exclusives. Ocarina of Time is a classic game, but so is Resident Evil 4.
@emgesp:
It shows how oblivious the mass consumer is, as to where their dollar goes. So many rushed releases, or lazy ones, on the other platforms. There's a reason there's "pre order bonus" at multiple retailers, day one dlc, and planned releases/dlc. They got the consumer by the sack. Pes---great game but still plays the same on last gen systems.
And then "exclusives" are announced and for the most part they are either movie games or games which exhibit the exact same play style as last gen.
@iandizion713: also there is no Pokken Tournament demo, at least in North America. I just checked the Pokken Tournament page and the demo section.
You just have to find a kiosk to play the demo. Call your local Gamestop, thats where most are playing. Check Bestbuy kiosk too.
Also i dont hate Sony and Microsoft, im not sure why youd think that. Shadows of Colossus and Ratchet and Clank are amoung my favorites and i enjoy Forza a bunch also.

Mario Kart 8 is the highest selling exclusive this gen.
Splatoon is the highest selling new exclusive IP this gen.
More people care about them than Xbone/PS4 exclusives.
The mainstream gamer could give two Shi*s about that. The Wii U could have 100 top rated exclusives, but if they only appeal to Nintendo fans then its irrelevant to even bring up. The average gamer would rather play COD 10 than Mario 50.
What will Sony and MS do if Nintendo ever get's strong 3rd party support?
If they have "decent" exclusives, what else do they have to fall on? This is serious.
Gamecube had decent third party support and look how that turned out.
Again, the many years too late "GameCube had decent third party" defense. Seriously, where the hell were you when Nintendo and their fans BARELY survived a Zerg rush and shockwaves of the Dreamcast getting nuked out of the competition? Because the GameCube's third party support WAS NOT well received that gen, and it angers me that it only ever got ANY form of positive note was 2006 and afterward.
I'm not saying third party support on the GC was the greatest, but it definitely was leagues better than what the Wii U got. Probably as good if not better than the Dreamcast in terms of support.
It still had a puny library compared to PS2, but as a retro system it's almost as good as PS2 because the top 50 games were really, really good. However if someone only owned a Gamecube, they were missing out on quite a bit. It would have been tough being a Gamecube only owner from 2001-2005, whereas if you were PS2 only you got pretty much everything, and the PS2 had the advantage of being out more than a year earlier.
It should also be pointed out that the Gamecube was actually a better designed machine than the PS2, and was more powerful than PS2. I was late to adopt the Gamecube, but I love it as a retro system, BUT it still lags way behind the PS2 for library. Since then, it's not even enough to say that the Nintendo machines are the weakest of the gen... they quite literally have been a full gen behind.
Wii-U makes a fine secondary system, it might even make a good retro system looking back in 5 years time. But that stuff doesn't drive sales, what drive sales is if it's a good buy as a PRIMARY system. Is it up to date? Is it priced appropriately for the hardware power? Does it get all the games? In all cases, for Wii-U, the answer has been a resounding NO.

So why is the wii u dead then ???
And I wish that somehow boosted 3rd party support and created a more varied library. Unless you like what Nintendo publishes, there's basically nothing for you on the console.

You must be trolling nintendo is going to kill the wii u.
I would be all over these amazing Wii U exclusives, if I was 8. With these amazing high scoring exclusives I imagine everyone is pushing people out of the way to buy one. No wait, the hardware is complete junk and the games are for small children it looks like the PS4 has greater appeal for people who don't want Nintendo's own kiddie titles forced upon them and almost nothing else.
People want choice, Nintendo in their arrogance believe everyone wants what Nintendo gives them. They deserve to fail tbh.

Well they are failing but will they learn ???
That line of thinking will backfire on you, because Wii U puts out fresh games like Splatoon, while the competition puts out mostly annual rehashes.
Oh yes Splatoon the first original IP since the GC, thats like 13+ years ago. I guess in your mind waiting 13 years for Nintendo to release a new game is worth the wait, I on the other hand will enjoy the numerous new IPs on the other platforms. BTW its fresh game not games. :)
Um, the Wii series (preferably Sports and Sports Resort)? That was a new IP that dawned in 2006.
