Relative to it's competition, I would say that its library pales in comparison. Certainly, it does have some really great games...it just takes a while to find them amongst all of the mediocre titles that flood the system. Super Mario Galaxy is my favorite game so far during this generation!

most of those highly rated ps3 games are multi plat and or not worth playing, alot the lower rated wii games are exclusive and very worth while. I'd rather play mario, punch out, no more heroes then more of the same(yes mario is more innovative than CoD).

Good thing those multiplats make up the bulk of great games this generation , and there not even playable on the Wii.

I have a wii and am in no way struggling for games. I don't care what score a game gets. It could be AAAA, but if i have no interest in it, i'm passing. That's the case for the PS3 and 360.

If it got less than AA but I want to play it, I will. And that's the case with the Wii. I'have really enjoyed games that scored less than 8.0

Your opinion = nothing to me.

And the Wii doesn't have those 200 million dollar ad campaigns and the visibility of the summer blockbuster style games, so if you just go by hype...it has nothing but nintendo.

Let's look at each consoles line up according to gamespot reviews.

360 : 32 AAA Titles

119 AA Titles

PS3 : 29 AAA Titles

86 AA Titles

Wii : 9 AAA Titles

57 AA games

My numbers might be a bit off but that just proves Wii only owners really struggle for games.

Why are you going on about AA this and AAAAE that? Pixel-Pirate is right, to many gamers depend on big name hype and imo depend on game reviewers opinions way too much.

I suggest that you find a better alternative than using reviews to discuss the quality of a game on this forum. Otherwise, I think we should continue to use them. It is a flawed system for sure, but it is the best we have. It brings a little bit of sense to this senseless place.

Regarding your personal tastes, it is fine if you don't rely on reviews. But until you or someone else figures out a better way to judge a game or a system's library, then that is the best way and maybe only method of figuring out the quality aforementioned things when discussing with others. Give the reviewers some credit...You don't need to trust one source, I prefer using Metacritic/GameRankings.

When making my own purchases, I am more concerned about the actual content of the review rather than the score itself...but that's a completely different story.

I don't think what's in the Wii's library is troubling... you have great Mario, Zelda, Metroid games, lots of fun, unique stuff like Wii Sports...

What I do find troubling is what's NOT in the Wii's library, and that includes Metal Gear, Gears, Halo, Gran Turismo, God of War, Mass Effect, Uncharted, Grand Theft Auto, Call of Duty, Forza, Tekken, inFamous, Twisted Metal, BioShock, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, NHL 10, Red Faction, Saints Row, Dead Space, Last Guardian, Splinter Cell, Alan Wake, etc etc etc. That's just literally the stuff I could name in a stream-of-consciousness sty|e without looking anything up. There are dozens more.

Not a friggin chance in hell I could miss out on all of those and subsist only on 1st-party Nintendo titles and the occasional good sports or shooter title.

When some of the biggest and most critically acclaimed titles of this gen are on every console except the Wii, then it does become a bit of a problem for the console. SW is all about ownage for your console and your console alone, if a game is available on both PS3/360 and is equally great on both then it's a stalemate, nobody wins. If Lemmings have a swanky exclusive Cows don't have then Cows/Sheep/Hermits are owned. A game being mutliplat negates the ownage. While multiplats are nice for numbers, it's exclusives that are the real deal around here.

Generalizations are fun.

All I'm saying is people are entirely too reliant on scores. Reading the content of the reviews is much better than going simply by the scores I'll agree with that. Playing the System Wars meta-game is entertaining and all in good fun, but when people take things like AAA, AA, etc outside the forum and use that as a sole-determining quality in real life then it becomes problematic and delusional in my opinion.

To be honest I only really made this thread because of all the "Wii is owning 2010 threads" I really just wanted to show that while Wii may have alot of good exclusives (but like someone said most were 07 and 08 releases), its line-up really lacks mainly because it misses out on many great multi-plats.LiquidSnake1001

There are quite a few genres on the HD twins, but really...aside from the action and fps games, I cannot name many, and a good chunk of them are either terrible or no one plays them. The vast majority of the big games on the HD twins are action or fps.

Not a very good post TC seeing as how I actually like a lot of thosegames along with other Wii owners athat are actually satsified with their purchase.

BTW while I like multiplats I've noticed and I still find it odd that this is SW's yet all of a sudden when it's a Wii thread, their is this PS360 alliance that is used against the Wii. However, that doesn't change the fact that the majority of SW's have been 360 vs PS3 threads. Not to mention that if we use this arguement then the PC wins everything regarding to superior multiplats and exclusives making SW's pointless.

I can think of little big planet, ratchet and clank, viva piniata (which is fairly old now) and....that's it.

Now I'm not saying other games don't exist, just that they do not have nearly the advertisement or draw power on the HD consoles as the action and shooters do. There are other non-shooter/action games, but they get no hype.

Too bad its library appeals to me more than the PS3's. Probably why I bought it over a PS3.

I don't care what anybody says in SW...Wii is for children, parents buy random junk for there children, so wii keeps putting out Shovelware. I don't even consider Wii a system. It's PS3 VS 360 as far as i'm concerned. And now i own all 3! so i'm allowed to bash :)n00bkid

i own more 5 wii exculsives and 3 360 exclusives. i play 360 way more though.
