So 66 AA or above titles is considered bad now?ArisShadows
Well when you can purchase a PS2, with basically the same level of graphics and technology, for half the price and get 49 AAA games and 282 AA games...

[QUOTE="Haziqonfire"]Wii has the most games that interest me out of the two consoles I own (Xbox360 and Wii). Scores are meaningless and considering games like GTAIV and the like which get 9.0+ scores are actually ... not that great. .. yeah. A lot of my favourite games this generation aren't even 9.0 scoring game's.

agreed

PS2 has what to do with what I said? Even with what you said, what the point of buying a PS3 or 360 when the PS2 has AAAs and AAs, I mean this doesnt just go for the Wii only. And its not the same level of tech as the PS2, it may not be bound ahead, but for the quality titles, it does what it is given. Anyways this is generally is unimportant and has no point for what I was trying to point out. It has enough varied titles of quality to make it far from being terrible. Yes we know there is a ocean of terrible games, but hey why waste your time on those when there are those you should be paying attention to. It may not be the best library, but it not bad, and to me a definately pick up, at least from where it first started.

That's true until you realize that TEH GRAFIX console's games are not genre diverse.

Pixel-Pirate

That's completely false. No, it's not an opinion either, it's just incorrect.

There are quite a few genres on the HD twins, but really...aside from the action and fps games, I cannot name many, and a good chunk of them are either terrible or no one plays them. The vast majority of the big games on the HD twins are action or fps.

Lets not generalise here. Just because you cannot remember the games doesnt mean that they dont exist. The PS3s library has some very unique and stylised games, and there is quite a bit of arcade / "casual" content on the machine for those that like that kind of thing. Not every HD machine owner likes brown / grey shooters, just like not every Wii owner likes minigames. Luckily, both consoles are more diverse than that.

You have 3 / 4 games for the system, and you are basing your opinion on that? I have about ten times that amount - which is perhaps why I can form my opinions better.

yea can anybody name at least 5 good games that are different genre besides shooters and action maybe rpg's

Mario1331

- Forza 3

- Little Big Planet

- Civilization Revolution

- Street Fighter IV

-Dirt 2

All AAA as well.

so you couldnt win an exclusive battle so you use the secret weapon MULTI-PLATS

Mario1331

GAMES. Stop dividing them up into little sections just so you can make your console look better; the only comparison made in this thread is GAMES. And rightfully so...

As for those that were either worrying about the quality of the numbers and complaining about the lack of A's (which they probably should be), here are the real numbers from the spreadsheet;

AAAA's:

Ps3 - 2

360 - 1

Wii - 0

AAA's:

360 - 31

Ps3 - 27

Wii - 7

AA's:

360 - 111

Ps3 - 86

Wii - 45

A's:

360 - 134

Ps3 - 95

Wii - 75

I think the Wii has a decent, but not great library. It does however, have a crapload of shovelware. More than the 360 and PS3 combined.

Pixel-Pirate

so we grade libraries on shovelware now because believe me i can take a picture of the 360/ps3 section at my job and theres a lot

If we graded on shovelware then the PS2 and NES would be two of the worst consoles ever made.

This is so freaking true!

By the end of 2006, PS2 had a liberary of over 1500 games in total! It's well over 2400 now....

Most of these games you will never ever see in stores or even heard of, like Sing Song Schooling, or "God will be Your Guide". There are so much shovelware, most of the time, on store shelves, you'd be lucky to find half a shelf worth of good games on the system. Even by the end of 2007, shovelware continue to flood the PS2. That's how bad it was. Face it, no. 1 system will ALWAYS get the most shovleware. I'm used to bring a shovel to the stores when buying PS2 games, now Wii games!

It also had 300+ AA-AAA games... you practically needed a shovel to just manuever through the massive amount of good games it has. I see a point of comparison with the Wii, but the similarities are only so strong. The Wii attracted the shovelware without simultaneously attracting the quality developers, which definitely wasn't the case with previous number 1 systems...

The Wii line-up is indeed terrible... for people playing video games without parents looking over their shoulders. If I was still a kid my mom wouldn't let me play any of the games I consider good today except Warcraft 3 (sneaky sneaky Blizzard). So if I was still a kid I guess I'd think the Wii was cool. Sadly for me, Nintendo has completely abandoned the M-rated market and left my sorry old butt out in the cold *sniff*. In all honestly though at my age (31) I should have kids that should be getting just old enough to play the Wii so its actualy me who failed Nintendo :o

trollop_scat

lol, my parents let me play M rated games at any age, and I never cared about a games rating, whether it is E or M.Heck I'll even play a EC game if I think it's fun.

It makes no difference to me, I don't play ratings... sucks for you though.

I do love how he states Nintendo abandoned the M-rated Market when it was never really a player in that field anyway. Let Nintendo be what Nintendo is. Dont try and turn them into another developer. They make the games they have always made, and many people want them to continue doing that.

Of course they exist. But they are a minority and alot of them arn't too great.

There are bloody hardcore swearing games on the Wii but they too are a minority.

Pixel-Pirate

And the good Wii games are in a minority compared to all the casual shovelware games on the Wii. It's not like the Wii has a gigiantic variety in genres either. It has a lot of unique games but only one or two in most genres.

I feel similar about the HD twins games.
