After paying $250 and searching everywhere to find the system, playing Zelda, you get bored so you look at the games being announced for it. Well behold here they are.

WTF is this? I just spent my hard earn money for 3 ports (one that's just pathetic) and a Sonic game? I mean yes SSX was love it or hate it and Sonic was decent, but seriously this is it?

Okay these can't be ALL the games coming out for the system let me see more.

WTF is this? Is this a gaming system or some Tiger Electronics crud a brought at Toy's R' US. I mean seirously these games aren't even full games, but mini-games and....I don't even know what Boogie is but it's probably as good as the name. Seriously if every system had a line-up like this it would cause a second apocalypse....no no no scratch that that's completely ridiculous, the horsemen would be too scared of a place where crap like this is allowed release.

A few months later.

Finally after all those garbage games something good comes out.

Beats the game .

*Looks at third party line-up*

WTF I own all these games. I mean sure they may be slightly better then the games that came before, but I'm still getting the same damn game I have already.

Hold on what's this?

I don't know what's more shocking, the fact that a sequel has finally been made or that there is a game coming out for this PoS machine that I'd actually pay for and isn't made by Nintendo.

Whatever this seriously sucks there are like barely any good no screw that decent games for this system. Hmm what's this.....Virtual Console......hmm there's Bonk....Sonic.......MARIO! HELL YEAH!

One Month later.

*Looks at third party line-up*

Okay well finally we're starting to see some real progress.....but that isn't really saying anything since the line up was crap before. Okay well it's great to see that I'm not getting the same exact damn game over again with tweaked controls, though techinically Rygar is sorta a remake and Resident Evil 4 is a port, but it's Resident Evil 4 so who cares.

Soul Caliber Legends, seriosuly I would much prefer Soul Caliber 4 instead of this spin-off garbage, I can't believe they turned Umbrella Chronicles into a damn light gun game.....well judging from the games that sell on this thing the old one would've floped too bad Resident Evil 4 port will probably do the same, anyway, Opoona looks like if the Teletubbies and the hookers from my red light district got together, had kids and dropped them off on a planet in outer space created by Kurt Russells phantasic dreams.

Seriously the line-ups looking a BETTER but that really isn't saying much is it.

Wait what's this?

Wow a puzzle/adventure game that utilizes the Wii's controls? Count me in.

*looks on the internet*

Hmm....this so called "Project O" game looks interesting.

Congratulations Wii you know have the amount of games coming out for the system not made by Nintendo up to 3!

Now what am I going to play? *Sigh* More Virtual Console games it is.

A few months later...after E3

Geezus what happened, now THIS is what I'm talking about. Glad to see me rebuying Trauma Center paid off, I'm getting not only a sequel to an awesome game but an exclusive as well, Symphonia 2 is also coming and I'm excited for it, and Nitrobike actually looks like a redeemer for Ubish-I mean soft.

Well I guess I'll keep playing the VC. *Sigh*

Few months later

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beats game,currently present day.

*Looks at third party line-up*

The spritual sequel to Odin Sphere? A sequel to Samba de' Amigo? A ground up Fatal Frame? A Bleach fighting game? Project O I- I mean King's Story actually looks innovative and awesome? With all of them built ground up for the system.

These games look........awesome.

Well I never thought I'd say this but......I'm starting be glad I brought this thing.

so you're complaining because not all of the games appeal to you. cos thats pretty pathetic, you are not the only gamer in the world.. some people like those games you don't... thats why they make them,, you don't have to buy it..

and it seems from that rant, there was a decent number of games you're interested in, so really, whats your point

Read his post again. His point is that the Wii's third party support started out terrible, but is improving.

Wow, that was a pretty cool post. I agree that you pretty much nailed the Wii experience thus far. Although for me there was no anger in the droughts because I had a 360 to fall back on or lead the way. I love my 360 and am looking forward to a number of games this fall.

But I noticed that a lot of the games I'm anticipating are very similar on the 360, Kane and Lynch, Army of Two, Call of Duty 4, The Orange Box, Brothers in Arms, Blacksite: Area 51, Jericho, etc, they are all shooter oriented and violent. Games like Mass Effect and Portal in the Orange Box, plus Rock Band definitely bring something unique to the table though.

But funny enough I noticed that there are a lot of Wii games I'm looking forwrd to this fall as well, and I didn't even realize it until I put a list together. The great thing is that there is a lot of variety between the titles, from point and click puzzle games, to operation games, to rail gun games, platformers, brawlers, 3rd person/rts hybrids, turn based, mini-games done well, the spiritual successor to Wii sports, and even for once Guitar Hero with all the features of the other consoles. Even what is arguably one of the most violent games ever in Manhunt 2 on a Nintendo console of all things.

For me, BWii, Mario Galaxy, Brawl, and Zack and Wiki are just as exciting as Mass Effect, Army of Two, Assasins Creed, and The Orange Box. Obviously a lot of gamers here don't feel the same way, but I know there are some here who do.

To me the games pictured here are the heart of Nintendo's holiday line-up. The top 2-3 rows here are some games I am really anticipating givng a try or just outright purchasing.

Other somewhat notables are Ghost Squad, Nitrobike, and Donkey Kong Barell Blast. Some new takes on old games include Tomb Raider Annivesary, Rockstar Table Tennis, and Bully. Plus there is the Zapper and the Zelda Crossbow game.

There's definitely more than I expected coming from the Wii between now and December, either rental or purchase status worthy. This of course leaves me clueless as to what we can expect next year beyond a new Fatal Frame, Mario Kart, and the questionable Wii Fit project. But hopefully the crappy third party support and drought of this past spring and summer are not going to be repeated next year.

Getting back on topic, of the 16 games I pictured, 12 are third party. I think that is a pretty healthy number for Nintendo when it comes to the more notable Fall titles. Things can certainly and seem to really be improving for the Wii regarding third party support. On the flip side, Nintendo's strength has always been first party, and to have Galaxy, Brawl, Fire Emblem, and BWii coming from Nintendo in a three month span is great and shouldn't detract from the Wii's image.

Thanks for the contributions -Despacio-, Hoffgod, Zhegi, and others. :)

Anyway some Nintendo fans have to calm down, why is it that every time you say something somewhat "negative" about Nintendo they all flip out and assume that you are trolling....am I missing something here?

The post made me lol hard. Great post.

Personnally I was only in a game drought between WW and Sonic. SSX Blur kept me busy for a while.

But still... you forgot No more heroes. I didn't notice it anyway.

Since when is WarioWare third party? :? And that was actuallya good game I thought... Umbrella Chronicles, while disappointing in design, actually looks more in depth and fun than I initially gave it credit for. If you can manage to find someone willing to play co-op I can imagine that game being loads of fun. Overall, Wii's game library still sucks for the most part, but it is slowly but surely getting better.
Oh, and those four games you first mentioned weren't ports, only one of them was.... which would be Prince of Persia. Sonic was brand new, Far CryVengeance was new even though it suckedand SSX Blur was technically new even though it used a lot of courses used in previous games (but it still had new courses if I'm correct).

Why did Warioware have to be third party I was talking about the games coming out in that fraction.

And Far Cry was a port, a bad one and SSX is basically a port since it only uses tracks from previous SSX games and no new ones.

I think the honor for this change goes beyond the Wii's sales.

If you remember there was alot of doubt that Nintendo fans would actually buy third party games, so third party sales would be left for the "casuals".

This is why you got to see nothing but crud ports and minigames because "casuals" just play games casually and rarely care how deep something is when they played it.

I mean sure almost every system had a bad start at launch but at least promising games were announced in the launch window like Dead Rising, Final Fantasy XIII, and what not Nintendo had nothing.

Hell the games were so pathetic people started believe and eveen making threads of how the Wii was going to lead to the end of hardcore gaming. I remember that someone bumped a thread that defended the Wii that lasted for 2 dozen pages if I recall.

So how did Nintendo fans respond to these statements and beliefs?

By prooving everyone wrong.

Nintendo brought the best games the Wii had to offer, Nintendo fans PROVED that there is a market for these games.

Trauma Center sold well especially for what it was so it tempted and suceeded with Atlus making a sequel.

The Virtual Console sold above expectations having devs make 2D games for the Wii *ala VanillaWare and Worms* and even had a developer transfer his XBLA so he could make it full for the Wii *Eternity's Child*. To add to the mix, the sales were so impressive that Nintendo even brought out legend imports such as Sin & Punishment and Super Mario Bros. 2 to the Virtual Console. There's also the announced WiiWare, and yes it was quite obvious that this was coming but looking at the Virtual Console sales you can't tell me that someone isnt' going to make a game on it exclusivly for the core gamers?

But the biggest slap in the face was by far Resident Evil. After seeing the types of games that were coming out for the Wii, Capcom changed there RE4 homage to just an average lightgun game. Instead they decided to throw in a 4th RE4 port with added controls to see how big a market they have for these games. The game surpassed anyone's expectations with selling almost 3/4th to a million. Capcom most feel incredibly foolish from changing a game that replicated an almost million seller to a game that was aimed to casuals and will more then likely not have a market for it. This is the reason why Capcom made the game more difficult and appealing to the gamer, does anyone else remember when the game was suppose to be "fun for everyone" meaning it would be easy?

Anyway I applaud Nintendo fans for truely showing their support to buy these games.

Now on to other console owners.

360 owners if you want Final Fantasy XIII and Chrono Ressurection you have to go throw a lot of average games first. Japanese devs don't put games on your system because of "home pride" *such BS* they don't put it on your console because they sell like poop. Enchant Arms failed to break the 100,000 mark if I can recall, Final Fantasy XI sold embrassingly even for a port, and Eternal Sonata sold less then some Atlus games in it's premier week which is the reason why they are porting it to the PS3. Dead or Alive 4 sold far under expectations and Ridge Racer VI was the worst selling Ridge Racer game and launch 360 game......yeah that's right GUN outsold it. If these games will sell bad in both Japan and North America then who's going to buy them? And just for the info, Infinite Discovery was announced long ago around last year. I see 360 fans constantly accuse Japan of being closed minded for not buying our games well guess what you guys don't either so who are you to talk? *Fun fact with an exception of Blue Dragon, not one Japanese appealing 360 game has surpassed a quartermillion copies in the West and adding DOA4 to that list I can easily say world-wide*

PS3 owners if you want to stop loosing exclusives, then it's simple BUY EXCLUSIVES. Virtual Fighter 5 sold pretty bad which is the reason why it got ported to the 360, Ninja Gaiden Sigma sold pretty good but nothing to wow devs. However due to showing some support being showed both here and in Japan you managed to get some nifty exclusives such as Valkyrie Battlefield and Persona 4. However on the Western developer front there is very little to convince. All I can say is that HAZE is now PS3 exclusive, when it comes out BUY IT. You spent $600 to get the fullest out of your system not have it being brought down by being multiplat.

Another round of applause to you. Kudos.

I agree with this thread, although I'm surprised you didn't mention Raving Rabbids or Red Steel.nintendofreak_2

This is talking after launch. That's why I started it from 07 and on.

[QUOTE="Gunraidan"]

Ask IGN. They have a freaking Buy Zack & Wiki campaign.

And Super Mario Galaxy could very much be a great game.

let me get this straight, i'm suddenly supposed to take your comments seriously after reading that foolish branding in your signature? SMG can compete with the big leagues. i plan on buying all six games mentioned, too.
