[QUOTE="Lazy_Boy88"][QUOTE="foxhound_fox"]If a developer such as Irrational decides to make a game like BioShock on the Wii, they will. There is nothing stopping them from doing so.Zhengi
Aside from the little problem of the hardware being completely incapable of something even close. Face it sheep Nintendo screwed everyone over with the Wii hardware. They could've easily made a no-loss $250 system capable of 720p near 360 quality visuals. And I do mean EASILY. They did with the $199 Gamecube being close to the Xbox. Instead we get a $250 Gamecube era machine that costs MORE than the Gamecube launched at 6 YEARS AGO. It's making Nintendo big money ripping everyone off but it prettymuch blew any chance of complete domination since it can't handle most any PS3/360 multiplat.
The Wii just cannot and will not ever get any game even close to Bioshock. Hell the Wii won't even see anything that goes past 2004 PC games.
How do you know they could have made a no-loss $250 system near visual quality of the 360? Just look at the cost of the 360. MS was actually losing money selling it at $400 and you think Nintendo can make a no-loss $250 system to get near visual qualities of the 360? Sounds more like BS. In fact, even if they did, fanboys would still crap all over it.
I know because I have reasoning abilities and actually understand concepts like computer hardware gets cheaper over time, unlike you.
1. The Gamecube was near modern and cost $199 retail and $209 to manufacture at launch if I remember correctly. How the hell could the Wii, using the similar architechure, possibly cost much more than $100 to make? Especially considering the Gamecube has been $99 since 2003.
2. Nintendo makes at least $90 per system pure profit. There's been links here and I'm not going to link them. The real number is probably a lot more than that now.
3. You can buy the basic components of off the shelf PC parts that are far superior to the Wii for about $100.
4. A recent statistic was that Nintendo made 2 billion last quater from hardware and only 1 billion from software.
If MS and Sony are losing money just to provide us with top of the line hardware why the hell do we let Nintendo get away with overcharging for ancient technology? It's just plain greedy of them really and I can't believe you guys don't even care they rip you off so much. I mean the VC is the worst about it. $8 a SNES ROM DOWNLOAD when anyone could steal the entire SNES library in a single torrent package? WTF? $3 is about right to be cheap and good value.
You guys just really don't understand the difference between cost and value I guess.
