Yeah when it was your 1st resident evil game on the PS2 that you played im sure you'd be like "WOW" . The only critical acclaim that the 4 got was f or the new camera angle and that was it. Nothing more, nothing less. Majority gamer reception... Please dont make stuff up.

RE4 isn't survival horror. Gamers didn't want to play Survival Horror, and that's precisely why RE4 was so popular. REmake was already better than previous RE games; a huge improvement. Capcom could have actually tried progress, rather than discarding RE and steamrolling over it with something else.

I want to make it clear that I think RE4 was a wonderful game. It just wasn't RE. Or Survival Horror. It went in the opposite direction of progress in terms of Survival Horror.

its a shame 5 didnt do so good. i like the the idea of it being in africa. it could have done better if the world was less liner,has a day/night system,no sheva(or make her as an optional playable chracter like mortal kobat shaolin monks) and your liked to limit weapons/ammo/med packs, and bring in the merchant from re4(so you can't buy anyting where ever you go)

Put of playing 5 until last week. As you can se in my sig i have started. It is ok as a game but not what i want from a resident evil game. ^ will probably be the same. I will not buy it

1. no co-op gimmick(ruined re5, re is best as solo experience)

2. cut down on over the top action

3. go back to racoon city or other urban area

4. more puzzles

5. no assault rifles please, only pistols, shotguns, and a smg like re4.

6. limit ammo so it actually feels like survival horror.

i would be fine with a mix of re4 and classic RE, thats about the best we could hope for at this point. they are NOT going to go full out old school re anymore. RE4 with less ammo, more puzzles, actual zombies, less powered weapons would be good with me.

I'm still buying RE6 no matter what they do to it, i've bought every RE game thats been released since the PS1 and the only one i really didnt enjoy was RE3 and gaiden.

That resi 1 box brings back happy memories indeed! I sort of lost faith after playing resi 5. When I picked up Dead Space and had compleated it my heart had found a new surrival horror franchise!

Dead Space is amazing but I hope they do sort it out for resi 6, those playstaion 1 resi memories are just too precious to scrub out just yet.....

Ah, spoken as if by someone who has absolutely no clue what they're talking about.

Sure i dont, I like it when people say i dont know what im on about but cannot prove other wise. Resident Evil 4 got alot of love just for the camera angle which has been used pretty much in every TPS since. No one talks about the game as a whole they just talk about the camera and thats it. Enemies where lame, plot was lame, gameplay thanks to the camera was ok-ish. I've played every resident evil game so i know what im on about unlike yourself.

For me if I was to put together RE6 I think the following would be done:

Give the gamer a choice between Co-op and Solo play (So everyone has the option)

Make the story actually scary again. I have heard stuff about giving the game a whole new reboot with a new City maybe bringing back umbrella in some fashion to be the main bad guys

Bring back the Survival aspect of the game, We don't want to head shot a Zombie or whatever and have them drop a clip of ammo or whatever, you have to find everything yourself including weapons and no modding weapons.

Must bring back Zombies but with the Crimsion head turning properties like in RE-Remake but expand on it. So if you take down a Zombie without a headshot then it turns into a crimsion head, if you kill said CH and don't burn the body then it starts to mutate into something else (Like a half human licker or something like that)

If there is a break in the story for a flash back then once said flash back is released as DLC include that into the natural narrative of the game (Something I think Capcom missed a treat on with the Lost in Nightmares and Desprate escape DLC for RE5)

First capcom needs to : 1. remove co-op. 2. remove las plagas. 3. have zombies. 4. make leon comeback. 5. have wesker somehow survive from what happend in re5 or make it like the one who died was a clone of him. 6. Diffrent zombies not the same(in re1/2/3/4/5 all enemies look the same) 7. make wesker stronger. 8. have one of the main characters die. 9. give us new survivers for racoon city. 10. maybe the ability to be the evil guy in the game. 11. the ending could change. 12. have racoon city as open world game like dead rising but not use everything as weapon only guns and ammo and meet other survivers. but keep the horror. 13. bring back the SURVIVAL HORROR not action.johny300

Resident Evil 6 should feature RPG elements.

Never understood why there arent more Survival Horror RPGs in general....both genres are completely compatible with each other.

One of the best games last gen imo. Pretty much everything was better then the old Resident Evils. Better gameplay, yup, better inventory, yup, better enemies, yup, better graphics, yup, better atmosphere (tied with REmake imo), better story, yup, better characters (except Ashley) yup. The game was a tour de force in game design.

A new Resident Evil game should start fresh, ditch all the "Knowledge" the character posses. Half the "new" fans of the series probably don't even know what the T or even G Virus is.

I suggest start a new game, in a new city/town/metropolis whatever start fresh with new characters. Get a John everyman thrown into a mass of zombies and try to survive and find out whats going on. Half the fun of the series was discovering what caused the outbreak to occur and whatnot. Throwing in Millitary and Federaly trained characters into a zombie infested zone is dull and boring, because they are always "too skilled" to bother with zombies being a real threat to them.

We need some poor dude sniveling in the corner while zombies claw at his door and smash his house windows in!

Give us a real Survival Scenario like you did with the first games, they threw that design out the window with 4-5. Hell bring back the outbreak series that was a great game waiting to happen that drown under the infancy of online consol gaming.

Resident Evil 4 could have been done with anything other than the RE series, hell it only held itself thinly by 3 characters connecting the game to the actual series. "Leon Ada Wesker" Everything else has absolutly nothing to do with Resident Evil at all. Hell there wasn't even zombies at all, not even a bad cameo of one, no Jill sandwich references either!

Capcom ruined the story they killed the original b movie lone group of heros going against the big corporation that controls the government. To a few characters that managed to get Umbrella killed off some how, and now they have to deal with other companies.

They ruined the gameplay as well, 4 and 5 are not survival horror no matter what you say they aren't, survival horror is survival in a scary setting, An area full of zombies and other creatures with creepy puzzles, and little ammo, you have to think out strategies to epxend as little ammo as possible while still taking out the least amount of monsters as possible so you can do what you need to do. Resident evil was ruined by 4, and killed by 5. Capcom will never be bold enough to go back and just rewrite every thing...So resident evil will remain dead.

all so capcom can go to hell when they ruined SD perries awesome resident evil series of books...she expanded the story lines so much and in so many awesome ways, but with 4 and 5 being so drastically different in story she ended up not writing a book past code veronica.

second, again I don't see how defining a genre and making a standard for all TPS games in the past 6 years is "ruined gameplay"

the books weren't very cannon either,while very good they added elements that woudl've thrown the game stories out of orbit as well by introducing new characters, scenarios, and things that would have never been mentioned in the later games due to them being absolutely absent in the earlier games.

It won't be crap if CAPCOM bring the survival and horror elements back. Also, I think it's time for a new universe, with new characters and story unrelated to the previous games.

I might just regard 6 as crap if it continues in this vein.
