Pretty much the topic title. I game quite regularly, but from the most part I seem to be feeling the effect of "been here, done that". Don't worry, I'm not losing hope in gaming, because I've gained some amazing experienced from this hobby, especially this gen. I'm just curious about other peoples views, and whether they still see themselves gaming in the future. :)

Such a grim topic, I apologize. :P

I can't imagine it now, but I would prefer to be settled down with a nice woman by then, so obviously gaming less than I do now.

But yeah, I will never quit gaming, I have been gaming my whole life.

Girl who games would be the perfect combo though :P

Lets see, in terms of entertainment:

Movies don't look that great besides a few here and there, TV sucks and music sucks even more while gaming gets better in different ways, so yes, I will continue to game and create my own indie games too, which is hard depending on the game.

My wife and I both game, so I imagine it will be a part of our lives in some shape or form. Perhaps we won't have a much time when we're older.

Yeah, games with require alot of time (my fav) will definitely be a no go, especially if you're working / have a wife and kids.

All the men in my family who I played with 10 years ago when I was 8 years old still play them today; they're casual gamers so I will definitely still be playing.

I have never felt that "been there done that effect" so much than this gen.Every gen before this one seems to have had way more for me too do.I think i'll always play video games but will I dedicate so much to all time favorite past time in the future? That depends on what they bring to the table.I can say with out a doubt that if all they have to offer next gen is better graphics and motion controls then it might be a while before I invest in video games. Why I say that is because with just better graphics and motion controls I don't think there will be much in the way of innovation. It'll just be a way for those buisness guys to try and take your money with gimmicks.

Now if I see some fresh and original ideas coming out then yes I see myself playing games till I die, but with games becoming so expensive to develop I think we'll see less innovation and more sticking to what works.THis can only work for so long and then they have to push something new.

Thats why I miss sega they pushed fresh ideas and innovation with every console they put out.People say the sega cd was a failure but now all games are on cd/dvd/or blue ray......they were just way ahead of everyone. They also had brand new franchises to go with every new console.Ya we like to see some stuff return but when thats all you see it starts to get stale.

In 10-15 yeards from now, I'll be more of a casual gamer. I'll buy the new Zelda, Mario and whatever that defines that generation (Like Assassins Creed, Uncharted, Modern Warfare from this generation).

I've already become more casual than before since I don't own as many games on my PS3/Wii as I used to on my PSone/N64 or my PS2/GC.

I will almost certainly slow down.... I will always buy the next Mario Platformer and Zelda, regardless of my age. And I'll always play fun, casual games, like Peggle & Plants vs Zombies, etc.

I started gaming on the arcades in the late 70's. I started console and computer gaming in the 80's. It continued through the 90's and still going strong in the present although I had a bit of a drop in the early 90's because I was spending more time skirt-chasing and then getting married.

Since then, I have had more time to game because of the ball n chain.

All signs point to Digital Downloads/Streaming, 3-D and motion controls as the future.

I think a lot of us will be done after this generation, and games will be geared toward Casuals.

Let's see... I started gaming in 1998 with Pokemon Red. Later, I transitioned from handhelds to PC gaming. The apex of my gaming experiences peaked in the 2004-2005 era and began declining from there.

It has been twelve years since then. I still spend hundreds of dollars per year on games. Being a gamer is so ingrained into my identity that I don't see myself dropping video gaming anytime soon.

Considering I've been gaming for over 15 years and thatgames keep getting better while nearly every other form of media entertainment has gotten worse in recent years, Yes. You'll be surprised how mainstream gamingshould become in the future. In some ways that's good and other ways bad but that's another topic. The only thing I see slowing down my gaming would be having kids, but when they're old enough they'll probably just play with me :)

Probably. Video games are still young. The technology will only keep getting better. Still so much more is possible. Hell, in 20 years? We might have fully realized virtual reality. If in 20 years, we're still sitting on our ass using gamepads to play our games, I'll be shocked.

Nope, I'll be playing until my heart stops beating. I find games keep getting better and better overall, so there's no where to go but up.
