The PS4 users account page includes your picture and lets you use facial recognition to log in - neither of which are included if you don't have the Eye.

I honestly dont know.

I have the PS4 pre-ordered, but nothing is 100% certain now. Im still waiting to know all launch games (if more are announced at Gamescom, pre-TGS Sony event and TGS) before i decide to even get the PS4 or not. I managed to save the money for it already, now im just waiting for Sony to show me things that will justify it.

When there is a game that really justifies the Camera i will get it but, as of now, there isnt even a game that justifies getting the PS4 (the X1 even less... i dont like ANY of the launch titles of both consoles, exclusive or not)

In regards to Kinect, I don't think the Eye and Kinect can be compared because Kinect is vastly more advanced piece of tech. A lot of what the Xbox One does outside of video games is based heavily on what the Kinect can do.

Especially with all the bad press Msoft and Xbox One were getting just after its announcement. It was some ingenious marketing.

Yes someday i will  be purchasing the PS Eye.. i like how Sony  is giving us the option to buy it or not, instead of forcing the PS Eye into every PS4..The fact that it is more safer than the Kinect cam, since M$ is signed with NSA makes it uncomfortable for people to buy and use it..

and this is why sony lost out on making this a standard piece of hardware by dropping it from being packed with the system.  No game makers will make games using it because no one will have it and that will limit their market for their game.

Except its not better. It may have a slight advantage in specs, but did the better specs in the Xbox make it a better console than the PS2? Nope.

When reality sets in and cows realise that maybe a third (and I'm being generous) of their exclusives actually take full advantage of them specs, then they'll see how truely gimped their console is. Actually thats a lie, cows think the higly gimped PS3 was the best console last gen, theres no saving them :lol:

Point being, the console war will be won on software next gen (Games and OS features), not having a 41.27 percent (or whatever the hell the number is) better GPU.
