Do you think Microsoft will test their console hardware better next gen before releasing it? Will you buy the Xbox 720 when it comes out?

yes. but i wont trust sonys. every single sony system ive bought within the firast year has been faulty *ps1 lid broke* ps2 wouldnt play dvds threw a whole movie*. when my 60 gig died i was out 500 bucks. i will not buy another sony system over 199
Yes I would and just because the way they handled it this generation was good enough for me. What do I mean by that? Well yes the hardware was faulty, but you know what when my elite got the red ring, I filled out the online form, sent in my 360, and it came back with an extended warranty and not issues. Also no charges. All in all they made a mistake, paid dairly for it and treated the customers the best that they possibly could. I know that in some cases people had problems and had a hard time, but hey its going to happen. Hopefully this time around they don't have th faultiness to begin with.
Yes. They stepped up this gen and offered a supremely good warranty for the issues... so I have no doubt the hardware will either be really good, or backed up by a killer warranty. However, it all depends on what games are on the platform and if they interest me or not. I can possibly see myself becoming a Sony man again if Sony keeps up with the games their getting.
They have a better track record than sony. the ps1 and 2 were both defect ridden junk ms nly has one junk console under their belts.
Apparently you aren't aware of the Thomson and Phillips DVD-ROM drives... Only late-model Xbox consoles were anything decent. The early revisions were terrible.Nope, i won't. They need to release something like the original xbox. That thing never breaks.

i have more faith in their licensing department. so it'll be the same as now, next xbox will be my primary and the ps... whatever will be my back up...
But the question is when will the next ps... whatever come out. i have to imagine it will be a long time. i think they will be "delayed" in the next system cycle for a couple years at least.
Windows 7 isn't hardware and the Xbox 360 is still more likely to fail than any other console, Jasper chip or no.jasper chip? hello! Windows 7? hello!
Ofc i trust them, there one of the best!

They already did. XBox 1 was terrible hardware wise and 360 was ten times worse.Yep. MS wont make the same mistake twice.

Leaving aside that I've just sold my 360 to get a PS3 because of the games, not hardware, I'll say that I wouldn't buy either a Sony's or Microsoft's next gen console until it's somewhat settled in the industry, say 2 years after its initial release. Last gen proved to me you shouldn't get new hardware as soon as it comes out.
Every company has had problems with hardware in the past. NES, PS2, 360. They will get it right next gen.

You sir, are a very smart consumer.
That's exactly how consumer electronics should be approached.....especially game consoles.
after all the criticism they've had for the 360's Hardware....
I think Microsoft will have better hardware.
Can we all agree MS likes to make money? (as do all businesses)So I think they would like to aviod throwing a billion or so away.
No, they'll do the same thing any company would do. Put out a product, cutting corners wherever possible and hope that the profits outweigh the costs. To believe otherwise is just fanboy naivety. If the RROD hadn't gotten so ridiculously out of hand, they wouldn't have done anything. But massive failures across the board didn't leave them any other choice. If you buy a launch console and it fails, the fault is your's for being a guinea pig, not a corporation's for trying to make money.

I don't know a single person who had their Xbox break down, and there were dozens of them amongst my friends last gen.

NOT EVEN ONE.Nope, i won't. They need to release something like the original xbox. That thing never breaks.
