come on dude, i am 35, i have been playing games since the zx spectrum / atari days. when i used to play the old flight games like gunship, which required a keyboard overlay there wasn't much of a choice. http://www.mobygames.com/game/zx-spectrum/gunship KB&M works for some, (not saying its inferior of course) but controllers work for other people.
personally i prefer a controller, i like the rumble and the triggers, button placement. i use a KB&M all day at work, but cannot imagine trying to play something like batman arkham city with it, a controller much more intuitive to use.

Arkham City is actually pretty damn fluid with a KB/M. Arkham Asylum was too. Rocksteady actually did a damn good job with the controls (and visuals as well.)
