@AM-Gamer: I never said that. I'm asking how do we know the split is still 70/30 and PS4 sold the most. Sure it was the case in June 2015 but is it still the case in March 2016? Steam Spy suggests sales on Steam doubled and that's not accounting GOG which had more sales than Steam.

Did the PS4 sales doubled? Tripled? Your source is out of date. What is the current split? Got any data for that?

Nobody knows... but it wouldn't have to to maintain the lead as it had a pretty large headstart. I would expect sales to increase since DD on PSN makes up about 20% of sales not to mention physical copies and Digital copies can be found for $19.99. Does it have the most now? Nobody knows but to say the PC version has not only sold the most but more then both consoles combined is laughable.

I used your 45/30/25 PS4/PC/X1 split and screwed around with some messy math and wild guesswork using VGchartz growth numbers and adjusted for more accurate figures. Well the TL;DR is the PS4 beating PC by 4% and PC beating X1 by 15%. If your split is in any way accurate to reality then yes PS4 is still leading in sales but barely. I ended up with a 41/37/22 breakdown of a little more than 11M sales.

I also did not adjust the GOG numbers when I did this and just applied the same growth as what Steamspy shows so PC numbers could be higher than I adjusted for.

Again this is to be taken with a grain of salt and I don't claim it to be accurate in anyway, was just for fun.

I actually double dipped on game awards night when it was like 25 bucks on X1. Nice to have Witcher 2 right there with it also. Thank you MS for free BC.

Luckily I did as well as my PS3. Only thing I gave away was my Wii. So in the end BC, to me means nothing. I can still play every game and not have to hope MS deems it worthy for BC, like Lost Odyssey for example. In my opinion that was the 360's best game.

I've tried a couple arcade games with BC, and even though its convenient to play on X1, I dont see no advantage to me when I can just play them on my 360.

Is BC a good thing to have overall? Yes

But Sony had to bite the bullet from using the cell last gen since they wanted to be more developer friendly this gen going with PC architecture. They did what they could in offering what the felt the best games as remasters for PS34 and yes the overpriced PSNOW.

I'm glad they went with PC architecture because its easier for developers. so even if I didn't have a PS3, I would support it.

Outside of those few arcade games and playing Splinter Cell with @getyeryayasout, I haven't played any geb 7 games.

I have a feeling the NX wont be BC, but well see soon enough,

@Heil68: Fair enough. I for one hate, hate, I am using the word HATE right now, clutter and pack ratting consoles amongst other things in my living space. So for me ANY BC and its still early as it only started 4 1/2 months ago, is a plus. I don't need storage space or shelf space for a 360. I still have the HDD for it should I ever want another for what doesn't come to BC. But with Dark Souls now confirmed that's another great game I own digitally on 360 that I will be able to fire up. Great stuff.

It doesn't look that bad as you can see with my PS3 still there. I had my 360 on my sub to the left but moved it upstairs to mainly stream media.

@Heil68: By no means does that look bad. But as I am renting a small space while in school this is the way it is. I still own 2 PS3's, a PS4, Dreamcast, Genesis. But they're stored up at my brothers house with my desktop. Just the way things are for me right now. Hopefully with a condo/home of my own I'll have much more space and desire to have a room like Nyadc.
