lol, why do you keep thinking preorder equals gurnateed sales? You know, Im pretty sure SONY said the very same thing about Move. Its preorders are great, we need to make more to meet demand, blah blah blah its all the same crap everyone does when a product comes out. Move has now gone on to sell around 2 million first month (thats taking the 1.5 million from europe and taking Pachters 300,000 prediction for USA) which is actualy very good if it pans out that way for first month. I predict Kinect to maybe do about that or a bit better first month, but it wont be alot more then that. Kinect has the advantage of being the shiny "New" thing and you know MS is going to market it well, but really, I care more about what it offers to me software wise and game wise, and right now its garbage to me. I could say the same thing for Move also. My suggestion to you would be maybe cool the hype train a bit in case of the chance (or likely chance) it dosent meet your lofty sales and other expectations at launch. You should say "im excited for it" and leave it at that.

Pretty cool, with a few more updates this will be on par with 2000 technology.

im open to both of these things (kinect and Move) being great. But if Kinect launches and its laggy and kindaa mess, why on earth would I buy it? The thing with move is that teh tech works (I tried it at a Best Buy last weekend and it seemed to work pretty good save for a few things), but the software isnt there, so thats why i didnt buy that yet. But if both of these control things can get the software where it needs to be for me personaly and any lag or bug issues get iron out and they can offer me things that I would feel compelled to do, then i would probaly get both if I had the money.

Well have to see. i agree that itll take time. Usualy these things arent mind blowing at launch, and they usualy dont become great until like months or even a year down the road.

The technology is there, and sure its cool for the hub, but £130 is just too steep for a cool way of interacting with menus, films, and music, when there is currently no signs of a core game anywhere.

For instance, Forza 3 Kinect, Im sure it is great steering with your hands if you like that sort of thing, but until they update it so you can control the gas and break and gear shifts, it shows that Kinect is no use for it.

Current games announced for the Kinect nearly all (if not all?) have limited controls (e.g: that Star Wars game automatically advances you, you cannot walk yourself).

I don't know, I just don't understand why you support Kinect so much PNF.

I wasn't aware that there was a time when you had to sit down, my god is kinect bad.

It doesn't matter because you're supposed to have the option of standing up or being able to sit down while playing videogames - or browsing menus. It was pretty pathetic when it didn't have that feature. You'd have to stand up in order to browse through your movies, music, etc.. instead of sitting down on the couch and flicking your wrists (or whatever you have to do) to navigate.

it's funny you're trying to promote the product none of us want (except for you). If you think the product is going to sell like hotcakes, why even try? You're acting as if sitting down and playing is good enough news to change our stance on kinect. Even the xbox fanboys aren't on your side. To me, it appears that you're nervous that the product won't sell well so you feel obligated to try and get us to preorder it - whether that's the case or not.

I didn't want you to think anything you had to say was funny so I had to fix the format.

now hopefully they fix the prerequisites of having the proper lighting, a big enough room, and clothing that contrasts the color in the room along with the issues of unresponsive/laggy controls.
