Words Spreading: A Good Friend Bailing On PS3 because of Ram Allocation

Yet another person i know is giving up on PS3 because he loves Skyrim so much and was very angry to discover how Sony allocated the ram in the PS3 hardware.

Once he saw how smoothly Skyrim ran on my 360, he said he had enough, as soon as he could afford it he was trading up his PS3 for the 360 to play Skyrim and other multiplat games much smoother.

Sad fact for Sony fans but true.

Its Bethseda fault rushing it to make its exact date release instead telling The PS3 Version will have to hold......to fixing its problems to release next year or watever(i guess their Beta Testers are sucks on playing PS3 version)

Its them....nothing changes its just they work so fast and never intended other console's properties like Multiplatforms you see in PS3

I believe the PS3 actually has 512MB RAM, but its split between graphics and the system. 256 for graphics, 256 for the system. This can cause problems, especially with Skyrims save structure.DeX2010

Blame not the old console, blame the developer for not having Utilised it properly.

Killzone, Uncharted, COD, GTA4 etc all look and play great...

Just play Skyrim on PC if you want performance and graphics. Done

Sorry. Don't believe this for a second. Never have I heard anyone dump a console because of ram allocation. Besides, I've put over 100 hours into PS3 Skyrim, and other than about a dozen freezes, it's been fine. My brother in law has it for the 360, and I don't know how anyone can say the 360 version is better. The screen tearing makes my eyes bleed. So...pics that your friend dumped it, or didn't happen. ispeakfact

Yeah well I have like 5000 friends and they all say Xbox sucks.

Now he can also play the best Mass Effect 3 and Dark Souls version, best Skyrim, Bastion, soon Witcher 2, Fable 2-3-JOurney, Lost Odyssey, Blue ragon, Dust, Tales of Vesperia real english version etc etc

Wouldnt even call fable 3 an RPG more like an adventure, same goes for ME3 which is multiplat and im sure DS is better on PS3.

But its been 5 years. It's notl ike the PS3 is brand new hardware and devs are still getting to grips with it. Bethesda are worse than Obsidian when it comes to coding.

Its the engine for the most part but the yes the PS3's split RAM is alo making it worse, time for new consles.TheGuardian03

Xbox 360 is doing fine, i definatly dont need a new xbox for another 2-3 years

If i only had a PS3, i would change instantly to a 360 myself too, for Skyrim, Dark Souls, Mass Effect best versions, best JRPGs like LO,TOV,BD and Witcher 2

So he is going to miss games like: Uncharted, God of War, Twisted Metal, Demon's Souls, Heavenly Sword, Little Big Planet, Metal Gear Solid to play Skyrim smoother? Hm, looks like he made a smart choice.

Dark Souls isnt any better on 360 still has the same frame stuttering issues as the PS3 and tbh as a JRPG fan i think LO and BD were complete non events.
