Well, c'mon...what about it? How do you think Gamespot will review the new Cataclysm expansion pack? Why?

Meh, Alliance got star treatment in WOTLK with all of that delicious lore. Besides, it's fun to be the underdog.AA for Horde bias.

AAE. I had a free week to walk around and see the changes. New music and graphical tweaks are nice and all, but at the end of the day it's still world of warcraft. Desolace is just a lot greener now:P.

Do you think blizzard just locked off all the old world zones until cataclysm came out?

The 80-85 content and the new races aren't available yet but everything else is I think.

The world has been shattered and you can do alot of the cataclysm quest and see the zone changes, however you cannot see any of the new zones or abilities.

The adjustments to the zones aren't a boxed product to be reviewed.

I thought your question was sarcastic.
All the world changes and graphical enhancements have already been implemented in the game. The only thing you need to buy cataclysm for is if you want to be able to level to 85 and use all the new instances.
Its a blizzard game, so its safe to be on AAA status :D Btw, TC...this is WoW we talking about here! You better shape up this Hype thread! Show some love!II_Seraphim_III was going to do that, but I'm just too lazy. If anyone has pics to contribute, throw 'em in here. Why not?

That's not what people are paying for when they buy Cataclsym though.

Yes, so? Cataclysm content, the actual content you pay for when you buy the expansion, is not available yet.The world changes are available to anyone with a classic or better client, and all sorts of graphical tweaks have been implemented over the years.

So the instances and raids are going to be the same as they always have. Maybe they'll tweak vehicle use more. Anyone who's played WoW with any regularity knows what to expect.

My guess is that Gamespot will review pre-Cataclysm tweaks and changes as part of Cataclysm. The only reasons those changes are being given away in the first place is because they know that Cataclysm will sell enough to subsidize those few people that don't want to buy it.[QUOTE="topgunmv"]

I have, what there is to play before they unlock the new instances and additional landmasses.

But to be fair, we're already paying $15 a month.
Even with just the content from the patch I see it as a perfect 10, but I'm expecting 9.5 since no RPG, especially an MMO, will ever get a perfect 10.

Yes, but the new stuff you're talking about is not what you're paying for when you buy the new expansion. I can have the standalone version I bought in 2004 and still see the stuff you're talking about.

All the more reason for the expansion to not score as high then isn't it?

'shrugs' Around the same amount of new zones and instances as BC and WoTLK which both were very fine AAAs. I don't think players that liked the other expansions are going to be real disappointed. The zone revamping is just a nice bonus for everybody whether they plan on buying Cataclysm or not.

In their day, they were. At this point though, it all feels pretty dated. This is coming from someone who played fairly consistently from a month after release in 2004 through the ulduar patch, and was one of the first (within the first month or so of the patch) to clear it with the exception of algalon.

I understand if you think that. But it's not like WoW has been steadily declining in acclaim and popularity as it aged.
PS. I take it you're not dying for Dec 7 @12:00 AM to comethen? :o I am. :D My character is currently logged off in Stormwind Harbor waiting for the new boat to Vash'jr to come.
