From what I've played in the beta, AAA. Seems to return more to a BC / Vanilla feel, and me likey.

I agree that it will be AAA - 9.0 is my guess. It's almost hard to imagine it not getting an AAA review since we already know that Gamespot likes the foundational gameplay so much.

It's the smartest, most game-improving expansion they have released yet. Easy AAA.

Also, make this a BA hype thread nao! Images! Videos! The works! This game is big stuff, man.

Meh, Alliance got star treatment in WOTLK with all of that delicious lore. Besides, it's fun to be the underdog.

AAE. I had a free week to walk around and see the changes. New music and graphical tweaks are nice and all, but at the end of the day it's still world of warcraft. Desolace is just a lot greener now:P.

Very big changes to the core mechanics, graphics, questlines, and the entire gameworld, all in one expansion. There is so much new content in just one expansion it would make most regular games cower in fear.

AAAE easy.

Do you think blizzard just locked off all the old world zones until cataclysm came out?

The world has been shattered and you can do alot of the cataclysm quest and see the zone changes, however you cannot see any of the new zones or abilities.

The adjustments to the zones aren't a boxed product to be reviewed.

I thought your question was sarcastic.

All the world changes and graphical enhancements have already been implemented in the game. The only thing you need to buy cataclysm for is if you want to be able to level to 85 and use all the new instances.

Yes, so? Cataclysm content, the actual content you pay for when you buy the expansion, is not available yet.The world changes are available to anyone with a classic or better client, and all sorts of graphical tweaks have been implemented over the years.

So the instances and raids are going to be the same as they always have. Maybe they'll tweak vehicle use more. Anyone who's played WoW with any regularity knows what to expect.

My guess is that Gamespot will review pre-Cataclysm tweaks and changes as part of Cataclysm. The only reasons those changes are being given away in the first place is because they know that Cataclysm will sell enough to subsidize those few people that don't want to buy it.

Even with just the content from the patch I see it as a perfect 10, but I'm expecting 9.5 since no RPG, especially an MMO, will ever get a perfect 10.

Let's just ignore new spells, BGs, arena seasons, etc. Yep, you get 90% of the expansion with just the new terrain!

Yes, but the new stuff you're talking about is not what you're paying for when you buy the new expansion. I can have the standalone version I bought in 2004 and still see the stuff you're talking about.

'shrugs' Around the same amount of new zones and instances as BC and WoTLK which both were very fine AAAs. I don't think players that liked the other expansions are going to be real disappointed. The zone revamping is just a nice bonus for everybody whether they plan on buying Cataclysm or not.

In their day, they were. At this point though, it all feels pretty dated.
