[QUOTE="skrat_01"][QUOTE="Tasman_basic"]YES! And they did the same crap to Ghost Recon.
GR 2 was passable as a member of the serise but GRAWs are just to far gone. They should be their own franchise just like VEGAS should but they just leech off the Rainbow and Ghost Recon francises.

Indeed.GR2 was ok. It SUITEd the Xbox - much more than the GR PC port.
GRAW on 360 really is a linear barstard child - but it suits the platform.
GRAW on PC, really is different to the original GR, but thankfully it has the same on the fly tactical planning, soldier equiping, and is much more tactical - and offers more freedom than the console versions - by a longshot.
GRAW on PC is different to the original, but a worthy effort, into getting the title to suit the PC platform, and feel like an evolution in the series.
I still miss the stealthyness, and VERY wide open areas of the first though.
GRAW PC is quite nice and feels more like a GR but still not right.
Indeed!
This "suits the platform" attitude realy agrivates me. Why is that console users are treated as simple retarded children?
Why are they given dumbed down linerar BS like Ravenshield on the XBOX. They broke all the maps and therefore the game by forcing you down a tunnel full of tangoes.
Its becuase the vast majority of console gamers (the general public) are considered to be well 'simple retarted children' - by publishers, and devs. Its the only answer for every PC to console game that has been dumbed down... And that goes for all of them - minus ports. And I share the same R6 Xbox greievances. I rented that with a mate, and we couldent beleive how such a piece of crap could get 9's in Xbox magazines.
Is it some sort of "Well non actiony games don't sell well on the consoles". They don't sell well on the PC either, they sell better sure but has anyone tried a serisouse sim on a console in while? Full spetrum warrior for example is quite cool and in no way forgiving much like a sim shouldn't be but still it's maps feel very on a rail.
It all boils down to the main audience of console games, who are considered to be the types who dont need depth in their games, in exchange for explosions, and a tight linear experience. This assumptions is made by developers and publishers alike.
To give an example, look at Bioshock compared to System Shock 2. Or read my Halo CE preview I found, in comprison to Halo CE on Xbox. Then Look at R6 and Ghost Recon. Or Morrowind and Obvion.
Its beleived that such complex titles wont go down well with the general consumer, and thus dumbed down. This is a main reason why PC is considered THE harcore gaming platform. Because its the only platform to have these titles/games/gameplay that hasent been watered down.
FSW is quite a good game for either platform, but it feels asthough it has been designed to be easily beaten. Cover is in the appropriate areas, and the paths are always linear. Then compare FSW to somthing like Combat Mission: Shockforce, and it pales in comparison. That game is the epitamy of harcore.
In the end the only differance there shoul dbe is in the controls and 2 analouge sticks is not a solid enough excuse to take whole dimensions of gameplay out just because it's on a console.
That is true, and I wish it to be the same. That doesent stop me from enjoying either platforms though. Even if the games are dumbed / wateted down they still have their merits.
Actually a good example of a reverse opinion, is the LOST PLANET port to PC. Many PC reviewers, critised it for being so on rails, dumb, A to B shooting, lacking any depth - and it got average scores - in comparison to console reviews....
