Oblivion is a great game (for it's time.)
I put nearly 200 hours into it. Was loads of fun.

Oblivion is a great game (for it's time.)FamiBoxAll this "for its time" talk is pretty amusing when you remember that it came out in 2006.
What did you say about Morrowind?the frame rate can be bad at times, but worst game this gen?
you must have play morrowind or something

I thought Fallout 3 (for all its praises) was worse than Oblivion. Oblivion was ok after mods, even then I found myself playing for 45 minutes then stopping, Fallout 3 just blew my mind since the combat was just so god awful and the characters sucked. The story made me cringe, it had its moments though, and it was a technically unimpressive game for me.
i don't think so. Two worlds has to be the worst game out there. horrible looking graphics (i have to say it looks like xbox, ps2 game) sound is bad and annoying to hear, it's lagtastic.iam2greenTwo Worlds doesn't look bad it just looks average.
I wouldnt say its the worst game this gen.... but... its the wost game in the elderscrolls series (by a long shot to).
Could have been so much better, but it was just dumbed down so much to sell more.
Ive owned all the elderscrolls games and the only one i wish i didnt buy was Oblivion!
It's the most disappointing game of the gen, and possibly the most overrated, and just about every feature of the game is broken in some way, but it's still remotely playable - unlike some of the other shovelware this gen.Planeforger"Other" shovelware?
I don't understand the Oblivion hate. It's a great game.GeoffZakSeriously I love the game. People whine about all games these days.
Oblivion is an RPG lite. Especially since EVERY skill is available to you making selecting main skills pointless.

Morrowind is much better because it has: varied locations, skills that matter, a great storyline, memorable characters, playing as a thief is worthwhile, better vampirism, vastly more items, non leveled enemies, better books, more guilds, more enemies, artifacts to find, money actually takes work to get, main characters can be killed, more quests, and more skills. :|

Huge game world with great graphics, guilds, loads of side quests, places to explore, dungeons etc. And I don't know about the 360 version but the PS3 framerate is fine.[QUOTE="SeanDiff"][QUOTE="Zero5000X"]I can't seem to find one good thing about this game. also does the 360 version run at 10fps?WiiMan21
I don't own a 360, but my friend does, and he actually still plays it every once in awhile, and there is never any slowdowns (Unless he duplicates the items), but I find it to be very good, and the graphics are still great looking ti'll this date.
Haha yes! i cant remember how many times my xbox crashed when i duplicated 300 lockpicks  Good times. If Oblivion was ruined by one thing it was the leveling system, causing enemies to scale with you as well as items and quest rewards was a foolish decision on the developers part and I called it before it was released. It made exploration pointless, but the developers wanted the players to be able to go anywhere from the beginning. There's a deep backstory and lore hidden throughout the game and there's plenty to do quest speaking and non-quest speaking. Morrowind really was not as different as people made it out to be either. They feature many similar features as action-RPGs.
Well, if you hate everything about it, get mods. ;) Having put over 1150 hours into the game with mods, it really does change the experience for the better. The game gets much deeper, the combat gets more complex, the leveling system can be eliminated, the skills/character creation can be modified, new skills can be added, you can turn the game into a survival game similar to STALKER but with more depth, more questlines and guilds (some I've played with stories better than many full games released this generation, sadly), better graphics, etc. It's the several thousand gameplay modifications that really make it easily one of the most versatile and customizable games this generation.

ps4 framerate isnt fine. but this game is far from the worst game this gen. i loved oblivion, probably one of my favourite games this gen. Fallout 3 is alot worse imo.

It is composed by Jeremy Soule, after all.. (he's also done excellent work for KOTOR, Guild Wars, and many others.)
The music was pretty much the best aspect of Vanilla Oblivion.
Is hating on Oblivion the cool thing to do now?
Yes, the scaled leveling system had alot of flaws, and the game was simplified from Morrowind, but it's still the best open world RPG released this gen.
There is more to see and do in half of Oblivion then in The Witcher and Mass Effect combined. The main story is traditional, but alot of the side quests, and the guild storys are really good, plus there is a novel worth of very well written lore to read. Its a great game, and while its not the best game in the Elder Scrolls series, its head and shoulders above just about everthing else out there right now.
Most books in Oblivion are pasted from Morrowind.
BTW, two Elder Scrolls books were announced recently. One sounds pretty cool, it's about a floating city that appears over Tamriel and every living in its shadow dies or turns to undeads... but the main characters are a teenager girl and some random dude, which sucks.
bull **** **** that music is horrible, Oblivion is the ****est game ever made it should be officialy renamed gayblivion and be sold for give money away people should be payed just to N-dure this kind of ****.
What lols no way that was a joke, although oblivion is crap that is only because of the games absolute lack of polish, it's raw product and was clearly rushed, if say a good games dev company had made it we would be seeing something a lot better, Blizzard activision Bethsoft.
I don't really care whether it's a real RPG or an action-adventure, it's still boring, as was Morrowind.

I'm loving it. Playing it for the third time right now.
It might be a true RPG if you go by the old D&D rules or whatever but Bethesda succeeded again after Morrowind to actually do so something no other RPG dev have done before and that was a realistic living and breathing world. You feel that this world actually exists when you play in it.
