What were the worst levels/missions/quests you experienced in Seventh Generation games? For me, Assassin's Creed 3 has a ton in there. The Bunker Hill run was quite awful and if you didn't engage the commander with stealth, you were treated to the worst boss battle of all time. The Paul Revere level was tremendously awful, riding around with Revere shouting directions. And every chase sequence sucked, especially the
Lee
one. Anyone who played it should agree. Almost every turret sequence this gen has sucked, especially in games like Dead Space and Mass Effect 3. Speaking of ME3, we already know the last level sucked so I won't go deeper than that. And who can forget the final boss battle of Resident Evil 5? What about that vehicle level in Gears 1? And who can forget Cortana from Halo 3?

Am i the only one who liked the Mako? I loved landing on those planets and attacking the bases. They were repetitive, but still fun. I HATED planet scanning in ME2 though.

The ship graveyard section in UC3. Talk about horrible level design The Cortana Level in Halo 3 Jetski section in UC1 The level in, I wanna say BLOPS, where you're supposed to roll barrels down a hill to kill the never ending stream of enemies. The Mako combat sections in Mass Effect

Jetski part in Uncharted 1 was awesome. So was Gears 1' vehicle level, especially on co-op. I'd say: Dragon Age Origins - The Fade and The Deep Roads Darksiders - Pegasus on-rails section Skyrim- The f*cking dungeons Halo Reach - parts of it were boring trash Halo 3 - lol, I kid, Cortana was awesome Super Mario Galaxy - Whatever that weapons galaxy was, in the last observatory Borderlands - Every part of its level design Uncharted 3 - The first level and the melee-focused levels I can probably list more

AC3 sure took poor level design to the next level. The number of really sucky missions in that game is unprecedented as far as I know. Only thing worse is the side content. The assassination missions in AC3 is the current world record holder as the laziest designed side content ever made.

The last level of Bioshock infinite was pretty awful. The gameplay being pretty mediocre kinda didn't help, very tedious on hard with certain upgrades.

Frame rate was abysmal, was helped once you new the level design like the back of your hand, but i had some pad throwing moments when i first arrived.

I hate the boat chase in Uncharted 1, the final chase in Assassin's Creed 3, the bird race in Skyward Sword, the Subspace Emissary in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and I think most of all, I hate the f*cking Fade in Dragon Age: Origins.

This, definitely... what an abomination!

Aside from that, I really hated the jetski and the "zombie" bunker in Uncharted, and the train in Uncharted 2 (yeah, for me that level was a frustrating mess, especially during that helicopter chase.)

EDIT: Oh wait, forgot about the Fade and the Deep Roads from DA:O, even though I loved the game, hated those parts, both very boring.

OH! OH! OH! that part in uncharted 2 where the village gets invaded by bad guys and there's a tank and stuff. i wanted to throw my controller at the TV. matter of fact, the latter half of that game just made me sigh in frustration whenever i saw an enemy, because i knew that i'd spend the next 20 minutes in a gunfight.

the train level from uncharted 2. the whole game was so repetitive that it was a chore to finish, but this particular level takes the prize for being the worst level design i've seen in a while.

The irony is, that train level footage sold me on trying UC2, thought it'd be a blast to play, but ended up hating it so badly, must've died at least 20 times in a row while crawling through those tight wagons with little ammo while taking fire from a helicopter and a bunch of armored mercenaries with shotguns. Ugh... it may be I just horribly suck in UC, but still, that level was one of the most grueling gaming moments I experienced this gen. The last level including the boss was very annoying as well.

Aw crap... forgot about that one, that tank section was really an exercise in frustration.

Another part that pissed me off is towards the end of that mountain temple where you're locked in some courtyard and have to fight off a million enemies. Think they threw in a few of those beasts as well. Remember when my friend tried that part, man was he pissed! :P

Why?

That part was easy and fairly short... I found that space walk leading up to the turret far more annoying than the actual shooting. Still, not bad enough to be mentioned as one of the worst levels of the gen.

I played it on the PS3, if I had played it on PC with a mouse it would have been better

Either way it's just a terrible level to have in a game like that

As someone who hasn't played Halo games, why is the Cortana level so bad? I know nothing of it
