Jetski part in Uncharted 1 is the only one that jumps to mind.

It's filler, and the large nature of it also gives it a poor sense of direction once you're done with the enemies. I personally really like that part of the game. That's the only segment in the game where the player had some options on how to tackle the situation, and it wasn't even like you were juggling a lot of gameplay elements. What are people's beef with U3 ship yard?

So has bungie.
Disorienting and glitchy. The game's climbing mechanics arent fluid enough to handle enemies surrounding you, so it was an exercise in frustration.so many times while trying to climb a ship to get into cover it would cause me to dive off into the water and id have to start all over again. And even after you beat everyone, there was still no clear direction you needed to go. I just figured it out after about 15mins of diving looking for an exit. The rest of the game was great and expertly paced. That level didnt seem to fit the game. What are people's beef with U3 ship yard?

Is it truth or jelly....?well it's been cortana and the floodship mostly, I'd also add library.
UC's been upstream and the boat section of uc3, lol.
Back when I played UC1 I never had a problem with upstream, I was probably too focused on the graphics however.

The floodship and cortana are the same thing.Âi know i've mentioned this before but it has to be every part of the rubix cube level in God of War 3
nothing about it was pleasing, from the waves of enemies, to the level design, to the escorting
Demon's souls, world 5. Story wise, it was interesting, and the final boss is one of my favorite bosses ever, but...Christ, no good. People have beef with Blight? It was a cake walk in comparison to W5, fps nightmare or not. Aside from those annoying ass toxic spitters, ofc.

Kind of funny that the level opens up a bit after every one complains about linearity, then they gripe that there is no direction. Same thing with the Last of Us. No bash on you by the way, I can see your point.
I think it was Assassin's Creed 2, or maybe it was Brotherhood. Either way it was the level where you had to drive that stupid wooden tank and in order to get full syncronization you had to not take any damage.Â
WHAT!! That was one of the most exciting parts of the game!!the train level from uncharted 2. the whole game was so repetitive that it was a chore to finish, but this particular level takes the prize for being the worst level design i've seen in a while.Â

[QUOTE="muffin200"]Am i the only one who liked the Mako? I loved landing on those planets and attacking the bases. They were repetitive, but still fun. I HATED planet scanning in ME2 though. I loved the Mako as well! :DÂ
Mass Effect 1 and the joys of that stupid tank thing.
navyguy21
That was in Brotherhood. And I found it quite easy, actually. You just had to move slowly, stay behind cover all the time, and pop out quickly to shoot.I think it was Assassin's Creed 2, or maybe it was Brotherhood. Either way it was the level where you had to drive that stupid wooden tank and in order to get full syncronization you had to not take any damage.Â

[QUOTE="Jack-Burton"]Blight Town.foxhound_foxFantastic level. Terrible framerate. It was one of my favourite places to co-op/invade. I've actually never had a problem with the frame rate in Blight Town. New Londo Ruins is a completely different story though. I was watching a slide show climbing up a ladder.
The Great Maze: Super Smash Bros Brawl
Act 3:MGS4: Hated having to track those resistance guys.
Jetski Level: Uncharted Drakes Fortune
The Labtyhn: God of War 3
The Mines: Resident Evil 5
Any driving stage in Mass Effect
Killer Crocs Lair: So slow you had to go.
Upstream in UC1 was definately a problem but the UC3 shipyard I consider to be one fo the best levels generation.ÂWhat does it say that Uncharted keeps popping up? Â *insert Heil naughty dog mega post here*Â

What I find hilarious about people complaining about Shipyard is that its the same people who moan and whine about how linear UC is yet SHipyard is an open area that usually gives you the freedom to tackle the enemies any way you want.
On console or PC:
This. Ascension. It was waaay out of place for the game. At least give me some real control and aerodynamics so I can dogfight properly. Ho-hum even for me.
I hate rail sequences in general. But, this is the worst one I've seen yet.
[QUOTE="organic_machine"]The f*ck All ghillied up is awesome. You mean One Shot, One Kill? All ghillied up
I pretty much quit the SP of the entire series when I played that mission.
jg4xchamp
Nope.
That mission is when i realized that the only thing I enjoyed from that game was the scripted sequences and not the actual gameplay.
Nothing but hand holding and non-gameplay. Lame as hell.

But then again, you may not have noticed it, since it never really went above 15 in the first place.
The missions to recruit Thane and Grunt in Mass Effect 2 were particularly bad. They were a HUGE dragggg.
The Fade in Dragon Age: Origins. I'm so happy that a mod exists to remove it from existence.
Cortana in Halo 3.
The temple with the big blue enemies in Uncharted 2, along with the final boss fight.

Agreed, its just a piece of shit designed level. Getting swamped from enemies in every damn direction, friggin turrets overwhere, stupid ass enemies that you have to take their helmets off first (which are completely **** stupid I might add). That whole level is just shit. And then once you clear out the majority of the enemies there is zero indication of where you should go. Complete shit and second worst encounter in the game. Its a shame since its so big too.
Level design is very important to me and I know which games to avoid.
But the ones I played, AC3 and GTA4 have absolutely atrocious level design. The only good part of GTA4 was the bank heist. AC3 had a few moments with cool stealth action. That's it....
Skyrim has mindless, shallow dungeon design, the overworld is void of gameplay substance/interaction. Terrible. How can one enjoy this game, I don't get it.Â
inside the gravemind in halo 3. rest of the game is greatÂ
edit: reading some responses bought back terrible memories, jetski uncharted. also the tank level
The on rail section towards the end of Crysis 3 was horrific as wellOn console or PC:
