Worst or most disappointing game you played this gen.

Uncharted 2 would be mine. Everybody raved about it including professional critics and people around here assured me that my worries about gameplay interaction were not a problem in this game. I bought the game with excitement and a very open mind... I kept giving the game the benefit of the doubt every time it did something I found annoying with its gameplay or lack thereof. Eventually it became way to difficult to remain optimistic. Every other game I played from Sony this gen was a better experience.

Recently I tried giving the game a second chance with a fresh state of mind again. My blog has a few details of the attempt. I admit I enjoy some parts, but again I found the same strong criticisms I lobbed at the game's mind numbing lack of player participation as well as the sub par gameplay in general. Naughty Dog is clearly talented in their presentation and attention to detail, I'll give them full credit for that, but I simply cannot enjoy their clear focus on cinematic flourish at the cost of good gameplay.

Alone in the Dark was the most disappointing, for me.

Btw, i really love Left 4 Dead series. I agree they lack content and the graphics are a bit dated, but they are the most immersive coop games i have ever played.

I mean,just look at the console area of the steam forums and you´ll see al the games(including the recent CSGO)have pretty much been,well...left for dead lol,while the PC versions of all get all the attention.

To be fair its about disappointing, not bad.

I found plenty of games disappointing. I found quite a few games genuinely bad too.

That's what they want to fix with the Steambox.

Valve has complained a thousand times that the current consoles are far too closed off to allow the type of support they wish to give, and other devs as well.

They want to be free to give out content as they wish.

Dragon Age 2. Had the majority of the companions not been moronic gits, I could look past some of the more aesthetic problems of the game (reused areas, waves of baddies falling out of thin air, a bland city which is the main focus of the game, etc.). Yep, i meant 360 version. I don't have any problem with the fact that the console version only has 4 or 5 levels. Those levels never get old to me (due to the random placement of enemies and items), especially in hardest difficulties.

I dont think L4D2 is that dead, though. I still play it, once in a while, and allways find people to play with.

Rage. I had such high hopes for this game after so many promisses from id Software, the very company who brought me to PC Gaming. It turned out to be an average modern console FPS with poor racing mechanics.

final fantasy 13...i'd been disillusioned with jrpgs for a long time but decided to give this one a chance. i finished it just to finish it and not because i was really enjoying it.

Metroid other M. Still a good game for what it was though, an action game, just not a Metroid game.

Worst game: MiB Alien Crisis. Glad I get most of my games via free rental because I would have mailed Activision it's game back with a supply of lighter fluid and matches and suggest they dispose of the rotting corpse of a game themselves.

Most Disappointing: Dark Athena. It's really my fault with this one. I put Butcher Bay on such a pedestal that there was no way for DA to ever live up to the hype. It's by no means a bad game, far from it. But I wanted and expected more.

Battlefield 3, gameplay mechanics are fine but it lacks teamwork which ruined the experience for me.

I decided to play it again today to see if the game is better with a more forgiving mentality.

Apart from looking gorgeous and the music, the game really is shoddy.

It's not survival horror?? What is it then, when i payed 6 bucks for it, I was expecting survival horror. I noticed it scored higher on PS3 as well, which makes the game much better.Sir-I_exCalibur

It's not scary as Alone in the Dark 1, 2, 3 and The new Nightmare used to be. Not saying it's a terrible game, just disappointing for me who used to love the series.

The Cursed Crusade, holy crap that game was buggy and just probably the worst game ever created, I don't think there was one positive thing I enjoyed about that game.

I thought the AvP campaigns were good enough. Awesome being the Xenomorph.
