True, i am exited by what i read, that does not mean everything will come 100% true

It is like Fable 2 case, i was exited, even though the game lacks depth, dialog etc, still i loved it

So, let's wait and see, but i will be exited, as i am with most RPGs that sound sop promising

obamanian

It doesn't sound like everything. They just listed their goals. These are the same exact goals shared by every single RPG developer. You have no shred of evidence that they can come anywhere near these promises, and for all you know, this will end up like the hundreds of shallow, forced RPGs out there.

Indeed, but noone has achieved these goals yet, and i guess spending so much time and efford on graphics and the 3D world and increasing the scope, takes away from what really matters, that is a strong story, atmosphere, adventure, choice and dialog

Who knows, maybe it takes a 2D RPG to focus on art, and all the above more than just better 3D and novelty

Also they are not making a RPG with huge expectations that has to be easy for casuals too, like Fable 2 creator advertised in so many occasions, so has a better chance to come true to those promises is my guess

Hope if it does, has good sales so we see more of the deep RPG kind, with real choices and dialogs

I can always hope, right ? :)

Go ahead and hope, I will too, but is a pseudo hype thread really necessary at this point?

No. It's a little much, not to mention there isn't much information on it to decide.

Well, i had a similar thread for Magna Carta 2, even though i know it is juts another JRPG, i am genuingly hyped for the promise of this game, there is nothing "pseudo" about that at least

Also i am not hyping it, just saying that it could turn out something great for very low price too and would like to see who would buy it if it does turn out that way

Of course if it is another completly casual experience, without all the choices promised, like Fable 2 turned out to be for exmaple, i will be disspointed myself, but i never expect the worst, always wait for the best, i am that kind of guy

I don't see what being $15, being on XBLA arcade, or being 2d have anything to do with anything. If a game is good and worth the price i'd buy it... However some people claim to only play RPGs with huge huge vast environments, and hundreds of hours of gameplay.. I don't think an XBL game would fit that mold

If you m,ean me, yes, in 3D games i like detail and big environments, since they have abandoned any kind of adventuring/proper dialog/ choices etc

But if a game brough all those back, would be far better than any open world as long as its world has the art and the game is a deep real RPG

It is just that when you have nothing to look for, like no proper dialogs, no adventuring, no deep RPG gaming and no choices in gameplay, then all you are left with is at least a nice 3D open world to explore

But i never said that if a real RPG arrives, even if in 2D, i would not support it 100%, in fact if this 2D RPG delivers and has the multiple sequels as promised too, could well be my best game on 360, given thew shallow Fable 2, Oblivion have been a huge dissapointment so far, even though Fable 2is my best game, that does not mean it is perfect, for one has no dialogs which is terrible, like Oblivion

If the $15 2D RPG was fantastic, possibly with co-op features, then of course. I always love me a good XBLA game.

If I valued the game more than I valued $15 then yeah I'd buy it.

Being 2D or 3D doesn't ever sway my decision to buy a game.

If it was done in the spirit of the old Fallouts, Planescape etc. then hell yeah I'd buy it. Otherwise prolly no, 15 bucks is a bit much, I can get full '06-'08 games for that price, generally speaking this stuff should be priced at 10 bucks or under to attract my interest.

Yes, if it went back to the old-school way of RPGs. (i.e. turn-based)

Art style doesn't determine a game's price for me. I would be happier having paid $15 for Chrono Trigger than I was buying Dead Rising and the Darkness for $15.

[QUOTE="pyromaniac223"]How can you hype this when you know almost nothing about it?obamanian

Well, with features like artistic full 720p 2D environments, adventuring, choice in everything and dialog/deep RPG gaming, why would i not be exited ?

Given the fun i had with Braid, i have huge faith in such projects, that RPG could go deeper than any RPG on 360 so far

so in other words, you know absolutely nothing about this? but let me guess, it has "vast open worlds, that beat MGS4 by a million miles," and that's what you are exited (sic) about, saolin?

I can see it selling if it's a WRPG, otherwise no. The only succesful JRPG on the 360 is Lost Odyssey, and it hasn't even sold 1 million:? It's not only the PS3 fanbase that's guilty of ignoring great games

For me, if it's a JRPG I'd buy it, but I'd have to save money to buy another 360 though. But I'd need an income for that, curse you,you damn economy

It is a WRPG, not a JRPG
