I probably would. With the way smartphones are going, I can see myself enjoying Nintendo games on a 5.5/6 inch screen. I imagine Nintendo will have peripherals like a controller adapter to make it more fun. Plus, the Wii U has smartphone hardware, so it's not like Nintendo would have to adapt much :p. What do you think,SW? Would you buy a Nintendo game on your smartphone?

Totally depends on the game and how well the controls are executed.... I have no interest in playing a poor man's version of a great game.

Not right now with my 4.3" screen, battery life and touch sensitivity. It would be like buying triple A games for a potatoe pc (then again I did do that for the longest time... :P )

Nope. I never will buy a mobile or third party (as in, Mario/Zelda/Pokemon/Kirby/Metroid/DK/Star Fox on PS/XBOX PC, not third party games on Nintendo systems) Nintendo game... EVER!

Yeah, I'd buy an Advance Wars or Fire Emblem. Turn based games are perfect for phones, the clunky controls might slow you down a bit but time isn't an issue in turn based.

In fact I thought about looking into a GBA emulator for my phone for exactly that, was too lazy though :P

No, not even if they would go mobile only.

@ianhh6: maybe... Lol, though I left myself open to pc fanboys with that comment. I just mean I have my classic franchises on so many platforms, mobile would have to translate pretty well for me to pay attention.

Oh no, I agree completely... I'm very cautious about games from Nintendo (and now Konami) going to mobile... there's so many things that could go wrong, and if they go wrong, then why bother with anything other than what already works for you?

I thought I made this clear around this amount...

Loading Video...

...but, I've said that the day Nintendo goes third party is the day I stop supporting their products (putting them on the same list like I did EA and what games they've released since 2013 after they fucked up both Sims series so bad and I'm pretty close to doing with Ubisoft). When Nintendo announced their team-up with DeNA and their plans for the mobile market, I was angered and made me lose quite a bit of respect in Iwata in doing this after he said Nintendo would avoid mobile (so no support in that sector from me) and the only thing I only hope they don't pull is what I consider the corporate version of Russian Roulette... with a full revolver, taking a stupid chance in something you have NO actual chance of surviving.

Lol no.

Not with touch screen controls.

Unless it was Pokemon or something that didn't require precise input control.

I don't really play games on my phone, but if they can make something special then, who knows.
But it's Nintendo, they'll probably charge you $15 - $20 for a very simple phone game. These guys have shown time and time again that they don't know shit about decent sales and distribution models.

So if they bring out some sort of attachment with buttons I might consider it. Otherwise, no. I have GTA SA on my phone, and I hardly touch it, because as good a game as it still is, the touch screen is offputting. So put Mario 3 on my phone and the touch screen makes most of the levels a nightmare.

you cant play games that require controller type buttons on your phone. the screen is just too small for a good layout. Its as bad as playing an actual handheld gaming device..which is a no go for me.

The only games I play on my phone are solitaire, pool, and darts..those work great..

If I know I'm gonna be stuck in a car/bus/train or plane for 8 hours, yes. Because I never have/will buy a dedicated handheld. Plus, Nintendo will probably have the best smartphone games.

Yup. You would think Mario and a platform game would be a good fit, but touch controls would suck. I personally wouldn't buy any of them.

Nope, I don't buy Phonie games. Compromised controls on a tiny screen, no thank you.

I'll buy the better version on my Nintendo consoles...

Plus, I have no desire to play phonie games with my current far superior AV setup. I downloaded some Free ones back in the day just to mess about and never went back because phonie games suck in comparison to my console/handheld/PC games.

When I travel, I have dedicated handhelds to play which work far better than any phone. I only use those handhelds for traveling since again, my AV setup is far more compelling when I'm at home (high quality 7.1 tower speakers, high quality AVR, High quality Panasonic Plasma, etc)

Probably not as I don't play many games on my phone as it is. I played CoC for a few days and was utterly bored with it after that. It's like the least video game - game ever.

I just don't understand phone gaming. When I'm out I have no time to be gaming. When I get home, I'll play on a console. Even if I did have the time to game where I went, why would I kill my phone's battery just for that?

+ the controls are ass

+ nearly every game wants to rip you off with micro transactions

+ if they are free, 1/5 of the screen is blocked and full of advertisements,

+most of the games are free run flappy bird clones or a clone of another game better somewhere else.

No I don't game on the phone very often, and I'm not going to settle for Nintendo doing something way below what should be expected of them.
