I held off on this game because I didnt have a 360 At the time and I heard the Ps3 version was garbage. I rented it for ps3 a while back but didnt get far before i took it back, had other games to play at the time I think. I am Huge GOW and NG fan, I thought NG was the king of combos and gameplay in this genre, boy was I wrong Bayonetta should have got a 10.0, I am on chapter 12 and am already thinking about my 2nd playtru. I suprised it is not considered the standard for hack and slash games. I even find the story great and am very interested in seeing how it ends. For me bayonetta sets the bar, shame I missed the party. There is a huge difference in the ps3 and 360 version, someone here said at one point that after the patches it was on par, it actually is so much better in so many little ways that it feels like a different game then the ps3 version, IMO>

agreed, but I would also (personal opinion) put Dante's Inferno and what I saw of Castlevania over it :S Anyway, as you said yourself, your late to the party, I doubt system wars cares anymore and this would fit better as a blog

I never played Bayonetta.

Current king for me is Batman: AA. I've never been more satisified beating the crap out of people :P

Nah, don't worry my friend, nobody is late when it's about enjoying the best action game ever and my personal GOTY so far, Bayonetta is no doubt among the best games this gen and i'm glad you like that much, the story is not as bad as people tend to claim, specially when you compare it to other hack and slash games.

I honestly don't see why the story receive so much hate, specially, like i said, when you compare it to other stories like GOW or NG, because let's be fair, in both games the story was the least interesting aspect, and at least in Bayo, there was some funny or even cute moments, again, the story is no master pieces, but it wasnt bad at all for this type of game.

Son, you're never too late for the Bayonetta party.

I agree with you completely. Though ridiculous, the story was enjoyable to sit through (not that it even matters in an action game). The battle system is pure bliss, easily up there as one of the best. Definitely the best hack'n slash this gen, can't wait for the sequel.

i agree, bayonetta was great though and a bit longer too.

I definitely agree with those who prefer bayonetta, just as I prefer DMC more than GoW and NG.

bayo can rely on it's combat (the main and most important aspect of a hack-n-slash) alone to provide an excellent game with great playability. Games like GoW, not so much. It requires that puzzles and platforming segments (and not very good ones at that) be in between the combat sequences so that the player doesn't get bored from the simplistic combat that the game offers. The story is great for one play through, but since the combat is so simple the game is very easy to master it's not worth replaying - one reason being that you're not really competing on leaderboards.

I've beaten GoW 1 + 2 twice, the GoW collection (1 + 2 again), and GoW III once. DMC 1, 3, 4 and bayonetta I've beaten 4 times + each and I'm about to give bayonetta a couple more playthroughs when I pick up the version for my new 360 (played it on my PS3).

I agree, but for some reason people think since the game's story sucks (Even though it's purposely done) the game isn't the best Hack N Slash. Because as well all know, Hack N Slash games are the epitome of games where stories are concerned. :lol:tagyhag

Yeah, because the "I'm teh Kratos i will kill you all" is a much more complex story than the "I'm hot, i will kill you all" honestly, both are at the same level.

I actually didn't like it at all

I loved Bayonetta, but NG series is better to me. GoW has that epic feeling. DMC needs a better treatment. Overall I would say NG>GoW>Castlevania>Bayonetta>DMC. I cant take anything away from any of those games though. All were great games.

No just no, this game is just too insanely easy for it to be greater then anything, and the only good thing the game does is the combat, but who cares about the combat if the enemy's are just punching bags makes teh game boring really fast unless your making a combo video. Seriously the boss battles might as well just be regular enemies with inflated health bars, thats how much of a joke they are the only reason there a boss is because of there size not because of there difficulty. Ninja Gaiden is still the King of this genre..

greater than ninja gaiden??!!?!? well thats your opinion but to me ninja gaiden will always be the king of action/adventure.

god of war has bad gameplay imo so i can see your opinion there, and possibly better than ninja gaiden 2..... but no im sorry. NINJA GAIDEN/black/sigma > all hack and slashes

I'm no hack n slash gamer, but the combat wasn't anything spectacular to me. I found the combat in DMC3 to be better. Ragnarok1051

It's easily the most fluid combat for any Hack N Slash game to ever be released.

DMC3's combat has flashy looks, and is quite fun.

But going back to the game after playing Bayonetta is just painful, it truly feels archaic.
