wow was good before blizzard bastardized it with its EZ mode content, and "hey you logged on here is an epic approach". The game was offically ruined about 3-4months into BC for me atleast, and i am so happy i quit, and was able to atleast earn back all the money i spent and then some on subscriptions. If anyone is considering to buy lich king and has never played before, but is looking for something that is somewhat challening then stay away from wow, and just play original EQ or Vanguard. Seriously though this game provides no challenge, and is meant for 9 year old kids who are all called legolas or legolazz or legolazzz

PS just to try and and some valdity to me statement i cleared sunwell aka lolwell before the massive nerfs, and got gladiator title 3 seasons. so i Thoroughly experienced wow, and feel i can make this statement.

ANeuralPathway

WoW was at its peak before the expansion IMO.

i kinda agree with you, but i did enjoy leveling, and SSC/TK when it was originally out.

WoW is truly amazing, but every once in a while i gotta take a break from it. I just wish they qould atleast try to make the classes even so everyone has a fair chance in the Arena...unlike OP Druids and Warriors....

Guild Wars is pretty much dead in terms of updates. You can buy the game, but don't expect many people doing anything but the hardcore areas and some pvp, as the rest of the community has pretty much died off because of the lack of updates untill guild wars 2.

Honestly, you'd be better off with Wow's gameplay.

I have a lvl 70 character.

WoW requires very little skill and therefore is not the game for me.

That said, it is a great game for people who enjoy RPGs.

I don't hate on WoW, I just know that I could play 50 other really good games in the time it would take me to get through WoW & I don't have to shell out monthly fees for it. Plus, although there is a huge following for MMO's, you just have to realize that it's not for everyone. Personally, the original Everquest just burned me out on them forever. ColoradoKindBud

BTW I dont play WoW anymore.

You complain about a monthly fee but yet talk about playing 50 other great games.

Lets do some math.

50(games) x 60(dollars) = 3,000$ not including tax

3,000$ / 15$(WoW monthly fee) = 200 (months of WoW)

200(months of WoW) / 12(months) = 16(years of wow)

in the end you will save more money by playing 1 addictive game that will last you years, rather than buying 3 new games a month.

I love it, i've only been playing WoW since early this year but i've got 4 70's (all leveled the good ole fashion way) now, my lowest char is a 10 Warrior. :P

When you hit 70 its just a gear grind and that can get incredibly boring, especially with WotLK around the corner.

Thats not the point of the post. I don't think anyone will play WoW for 16 years. I was simply just pointing out the amount of money saved by playing WoW instead of buying games every month.

Simply put...it's boring and too easy. Everybody is running around in epics they bought from vendors these days, and with every expansion pack Blizz releases, they make half of the content in their game obsolete.

I've played allot of MMO games over the years and find WoW to be a bit "cartoonie" and has a "training wheel" feel to it.

frankly, I think there are better MMORPGs out there that just don't have as much advertisement/users.

lol better the only good instance they ever made was Naxxramas, and they are rerelasing that into a raid which can be completed in under 2 hours, and 5 seconds after you hit 80.

I had been hearing from my friend for a few years now about the grandness of WoW. Last month I decided to give the free trial a shot, and boy I'm glad I did. It saved me the mistake of throwing away my money on the retail version. WoW is the definition of tedium, and I'm astounded as to how many people actually pay to play this game, especially at $14.99/month.

It's purely a profit model held up by superficial elements. What is the point? Is there an end to the story? Can I achieve resolution with my character in relation to that story? For me, without that connection the fun is sucked dry. Fight, level up, get new items, and run chores. Oh boy. People also just run around doing their own thing. There is no social cohesiveness from what I saw. Actually, most of the people I tried to talk to just ignored me or were outright plain rude. And I'm going to pay for this if I wish to continue?

I used to wonder why people loved WoW so much, and now after playing it I am even more confused. I can find numerous better ways to waste my money.

I hate Wow because of what it has done to Warcraft.

You can't ****in kill Illidan, and then make it seem like you'll kill Arthas.

SSCyborg

Wait why not? And maiev helps you kill illidan, so lets see the person who locked up him up plus 25 other heroes shouldn't be able to get him? Ha.

Have you bothered reading the quest dialogues? The hero you play is responsible in a number of pivatol, world altering decisions like; The ressurection of Hakkar in the sunken temple, the eventually task of killing Hakkar, the events that lead to the awakening of C'Thun, the bringing of kil'jaeden into the world, etc. In terms of effects on the game world itself from the perspective of the story, the character does make quite a difference.

She was presumed dead, nothing was confirmed. She followed illidan to outland where he got the best of her and her fellow wardens thought her to be slain. In reality she was just imprisoned.

She was presumed dead, nothing was confirmed. She followed illidan to outland where he got the best of her and her fellow wardens thought her to be slain. In reality she was just imprisoned. Espada12
It explicitly stated that she was "Slain". I don't think you can get any more literal than that. "Sinking into vengeful madness, Maiev pursued Illidan all the way to Outland. Emotion clouded her vision, and Illidan slipped away from her several times. Finally, when Maiev was all but blinded by frustration and vengeance, the Betrayer got the better of her. Maiev died alone on the red sand, unmourned, unsung, with none to remember her fall, her soul empty of all but rage."

I don't want to get into WoW, because I know that if I do, I'll have no life. (Not trying to be offensive to the WoW players)

The warden article in Alliance Player's Guide discusses the information from an in-universe POV, and mentions that other wardens believe she died, and the ways they view her "failure". Here is the corresponding quote from Alliance Player's Guide;

The most (in)famous warden is Maiev Shadowsong, the woman responsible for keeping the most dangerous prisoner in night elf history - Illidan Stormrage. Maeiv failed in her duties, as all know, and hunted Illidan across Azeroth and Outland to retrieve him. Her hunt and failure embittered her, and when Illidan bested her in Outland, Maiev died alone and hollow on an alien, red world. Despite Maiev's failure, many young wardens see her as the epitome of dedication. Though her charge escaped, she pursued him across the worlds, giving up only when death prevented her from continuing her chase. Other wardens view Maiev with ambivalence, seeing her single-minded focus as responsible for her failure.

That, in no way, suggests she was imprisoned. On the other hand, the book EXPLICITLY said she died. I don't think there is any room for interpretation here: Sinking into vengeful madness, Maiev pursued Illidan all the way to Outland. Emotion clouded her vision, and Illidan slipped away from her several times. Finally, when Maiev was all but blinded by frustration and vengeance, the Betrayer got the better of her. Maiev died alone on the red sand, unmourned, unsung, with none to remember her fall, her soul empty of all but rage. Died, died, died, dead, gone, kaput.

Again I said it was presumed she was dead. I never said the books said she were imprisoned.

Warcraft Encyclopedia explains further;

Her lengthy absence from Azeroth, together with Illidan's continued freedom, has led the night elves to presume her dead[1]

She is presumed dead, slain during her pursuit of vengeance

SHE IS PRESUMED DEAD. AS IN IT IS NOT 100% SURE.

Presumed dead does not mean she is alive at all. It does not equate to her being alive in a cell somewhere. The books are considered CANNON, and Shadow and Light says, "SHE DIED". IT does not say, "She is alive somewhere". It says "SHE DIED". There are no ifs, ands, ors or but clauses. SHE DIED.

Just ignore him. He's probably a fanboy trying to make it that Blizzard never makes mistakes. And story is all screwed up anyhow.
