Wow PS3 sales dropped by a lot just a week after MGS IV (vgchartz)

Bret Favre got the cover of Madden bcause he played great? Not this year( not even this decade). It was just a tribute to an old retiring great. That's all I think of MGS4's rank. Fortunately most review sites were honest and this put MGS4 at the 92 it deserves to be at.

not only am i making 900 bucks a week i got my best buy statement the other day saying i had 502 dollars in credit available. i guess im just hating what i cant have....even though i COULD very easily have it if i wanted.

I find in my experience, that when people start boasting about how much they make, they aren't really making that amount. Usually it is just posturing so that they can try and belittle those ridiculing them. If someone believes I have no money or make very little, I just laugh. Theres really no need to play, "my pocket is fatter than yours". It's childish. If I may ask, what do you do for a living?

Most of PS3 owners are MGS fans so many already had the console... i personally find it stupid to think 1 game would help a Company sell millions of consoles... a console in order to keep great sales on a weekly basis needs much more than one excellent game like MGSIV... Things though are getting better for PS3... geat multiplats, PSN getting Better & some great exclusives coming out during the year...

First off, Trying to compare Quarter backs and games equals no. Paying tribute to a great quarterback and a game getting a 10 because it's the "last in the series" according to you, isn't even comparble. Games are things which receive ratings for how good they are, and obviously MGS4 is a great game. Second off, even though you won't admit it, nor will any other hardcore lemming, if MGS4 were a 360 exclusive and got a 10 there would be nothing of criticism coming from the likes of you. Also bringing in Gamerankings, now that a PS3 exclusive has gotten a 10; hypocrisy at its finest.

I know this hippy everyone thought was a scumbag until he took his life with a shotgun then everyone was saying he was such a saint. You see when humans are faced with losing something....with saying goodbye we generally take pause and judge things not as critically as usual. This is what happened with MGS4 but I think some reviewers really went off the deep end.

2 million in two weeks is NOT what I'd call niche sales. Thats MGS2 numbers and that game ended with about 5 million in sales.

First of all MGS4 is not a niche title. Lets get this straight. Disgaea 3 is a niche title. Not MGS4. A niche title wouldn't have sold over 6 million copies (like MGS1 and MGS2). A niche title wouldn't have shipped 3 million in less then a month. Whether you like it or not MGS4 is a system seller because when it came out PS3 recieve a large increase in sales. Yeah its not a system seller on the lines of Halo but its a system seller.

Brett Favre didn't play great this year? I could've swore he led his team to the NFC championship and passed for over 4,000 yards. Half of the season he didn't even have a running game to speak of, and that's quite impressive to people who know about football. Obviously, that's not you.

I allready explained that I do not hate the game and that I played MGS2 and 4. What more really needs to be said. Currently the game is ranked 62nd of all time on gamerankings so obviously im not alone in thinking its not a ten.

your missing the point. madden covers should go to someone who distinguished himelf above other players. sure he got to the playoffs but he did his signature favre choke with an interception on the last play. typical. manning, brady, strahan, moss.....so many players deserve that more based on their actual performance but Favre got that because he was retiring. even most green bay fans know this.

Yeah, you're right. It probably had nothing to do with the fact that he broke a buttload of records. And it certainly didn't have anything to do with Favre being the biggest name in the NFL.

Him getting the cover is based on his actual performance, not for just one year, but for his legendary career. And what would you know about Packer fans? I'm constantly surrounded by them daily, so please don't tell me about what they know.

I'm sure he has a friend who is a packers fan but has no cable. He went over to his house to watch a game, with of course no cable, and decided they sucked from what he had seen.

He'll just dance around his lies. He promises to leave and doesn't. Says he's the online is crappy but has never played it. DOOMED the game to FLOP but now says its a good game.

Any whoo, why are we going by gamerankings now? Oh ok ps3 game got a 10, prior to that it was all about Gamespot lol. Well even by gamerankings those reviews listed for games such as halo, and gears atleast the first 15 or so you prolly haven't even heard of them lol, much less if there even crediable. But I do see alot more crediable ones that I know of in the first 15 or 20 listed for MGS4. Shoot 1up gives a 100 to anything the 360 puts out lol oh except mass defect.

Shoot I myself like looking at user reviews and on metacritic.com mgs4 is holding strong, but all of the top dogs from the 360 are way off from critic reviews and user reviews. They don't even come close to each other most of the time. While ps3 critic reviews and user reviews are right on the money to each other, shoot chk it out its quit amazing actually. And go ahead and be the next xbot to put a 0 down for MGS4 lol while your there, it just crazy how people get so upset that they can't play a game that is just pure genious.

Go ahead and say ps3 fanboys messing up the numbers on the 360 side lol. If they did atleast they tried to hide it unlike the 360 fanboys putting 0's down for a game that will prolly win game of the year. Yep I said there isn't anything that is going to touch it this year, MGS4 will win GOTY for 08.
