"You get what you paid for"Jandurin

Pay for a 15k toyota vs. a 25k ford.

Yet, one is more reliable, and it's the cheaper. Now, you get what you pay for means next to nothing. It's facts, not price.

Wii is more reliable than the PS3, by some accounts, and is the cheapest. Etc.

Sorry you couldn't catch the sarcasm. I was mocking the fanboys.

Yeah it did change. I added a 1 to each side of the PS3 and 360 equation to signify the addition of Multiplat DLC. Otherwise the equation is the same. Goes to show how much I don't know? Yeah get real, don't accuse me of things you are wrong about.

Once again you are speculating. Is it worth to buy? Well if it isn't then don't freaking buy it. Too bad the other platform doesn't have a decision in the matter. And why are you even mentioning I wonder which people will choose to play the DLC on claiming the more reliable one :)

Then later saying you don't know about the exclusive content? Hypocrite....And then you fall back on the damage control of a faulty console argument which has nothing to do with the actual game content.

You know what I'm simply going to say it. You're just a fanboy in denial. We are sitting here comparing versions of games and all you talk about is the 360. If you don't have faith in R* and its DLC then I don't see why you have faith in the game being good in the first place.

Blackbond

Yeah, when all else fails call them a fanboy. I just put an option on the table of reliability. That is important when weighing on which system to buy it for, right? Then, you come in with this term "damage control". Like I'm some rebel with a cause to kill the 360. Then you claim I'm speculating. I've never mention anything about the exclusive content. It was you speculating it was going to be good and that hardcore GTA fans must buy it (according to your math). Maybe you're just one of those people who think 360 can't do wrong. Maybe you still think the RROD problem is a myth, great games are decided by gaming websites, and Sony PR team lied to you.

I get it for the console with rumble in the controllers and you don't have to import anything, everyone have headsets so you could talk to each other about how the game is so awesome, achievements so everyone will believe you when they see that you got all the secret packages and did all the side missions and beat up 1000 hookers for example, have custom sound tracks just incase you want less talk more rock, and also for the lead platform that will get exclusive episodic content.

black_awpN1

Link to Rockstar stating 360 was lead platform. Otherwise you dont know that for fact.

Its a fact that all GTA4 game footage was using the 360 hardware. Its a fact the reason GTA4 got delayed because of the PS3. Its a fact that Peter Moore showed off a GTA4 tattoo on his arm.

That just proves:

1. They had two seperate teams working on the game side by side and that the 360 team was finishing faster.

2. Theres no fact that it was the only reason. The only news story I saw stating the PS3 was THE reason was some dumb Analysts take on it.

3. Peter Moore is an Idiot.

Until I get a quote from R* stating the 360 as the lead SKU, all your doing is speculating.

http://www.maxconsole.net/?mode=news&newsid=24632

A blog by the name of TechSpy decided to try and weight up whether the Xbox 360 or the PS3 version of GTA IV will be superior. They indicate that as of right now, evidence is piling up that the game will be better on the Xbox 360. They claim its the lead platform, and the only complete version with exclusive story content thats developed by a team which is already super familiar with the hardware of the Xbox 360.

I asked for a quote from Rockstar, not some websites Opinon.

Yeah and u keep ignoring this link

360 is getting EXCLUSIVE DLC, PS3 won't have it.

On a side not, have R* confirmed online play yet?

If both games are exactly the same like Rockstar says and yet one version gets additional exclusive content down the road then which one based off of the current information that you know would you choose?Blackbond
Not everyone buys DLC..... for a lot of people like me who dont, it makes both versions identical. I'll never know why people use this as ownage. "OMG i get to buy exclusive content for God knows how much like a year after its released!!" And to make it worse the content is supposedly missions. WOW like anyone even does them in GTA games, theyre so lame. I wish people would just stop buying DLC so we can go back to getting FULL games for our hard earned money instead of devs holding content back. Too many people buy this crap and it just encourages companies to do it more. $10 for a car in NFS? GTFO edit: $5...... still

Its not ownage. And for a lot of people like you there are a lot of people not like you. Your basically throwing in your opinion right like when you say things like "WOW LIKE ANYONE DEVEN DOES THEM IN GTA THEY'RE SO LAME."

DLC sucks and all games should just be full games. But bottom line I don't see how you are denying more GTA4. It just doesn't make sense.

Yes it goes such a long way that people send their 360's back to Microsoft get them fixed and continue using them:roll:

If you already have a 360 are you really going to say. Gee I'll buy this game for PS3 because my system might break. Might as well trade and return the 360 if you're that worried.

Not to mention that your logic is flawed as seeing how this never stopped anyone with a DRE'ed PS2 nor did it stop people from getting their 360's fixed so they can continue using them.

When will you guys learn to start talking about the actual game and stop falling back on the RROD Damage control. Its not about who plays the game more on what system.

This is exactly why I said GTA fans are a confused breed. Offer them a version with more content and exclusive content and they don't even know what to do with it. Half say its good and half say its bad. Hell I'd think that all sides would think that its a good thing but then again we have people with system biasness and when one thing doesn't look up to par in a situation we have to always automatcially say but but teh RROD.

I personally dont care. Both are going to be awesome. You cant go wrong with whatever version you get. Believe it or not, im actually probaly going to get the 360 version JUST INCASE i want the content. If I dont, then oh well, I still have the same great game. Unless a review makes me go the other way, then ill be getting 360 version. Why should I have Brand Loyalty to a company that, while I did play the other games on their console, really dosent care about me personally.

So both 360 and PS3 are going to have their own EDLC? So If I want to play the full game I'll have to buy both versions...

All the reasons that I've been stating. I couldn't agree more. Unless the 360 controller is just detrimental to your gaming experience as a whole or you don't have a 360 and do have a PS3.

Is it possible that the ps3 version would be superior simply because it allows for games to be installed? I mean loading times, sure, but also things like popup. And then there's the possibility that the ps3 version could have a lot more content on the radio stations because of all that space on the bluray.

No one has ever called me on any of that, and I've made these points before. Is it a realistic possibility?

wow please explain that. Multiplats always take advantage of each system's advantages, and actually rockstar said they were using each system's advantages. there is so much context in that though. It could have the exact same plot and characters, weapons, etc., but could have all the things I mentioned.

truth is though, about pop up, I dont even know if the 360 version has it. Does it? Because with a simple install it would be elminated on the ps3 for sure.

Well until you have factual evidence that states otherwise when Rockstar says that the games will be the identical it means the games will be the identical. Take whatever context you want. Identical is basically a mirror image. I'm taking the devs word over your speculation.

I'll be getting the PS3 version. I wouldnt buy the DLC anyways. Dont really believe in microtransactions, and I think they are allowing dev. to release gimped or unfinished games knowing they can be patched or content can be added at extra charges. People need to wake up and see this.

I'd get it for the console which Rockstar already announced and confirm exclusivie episodic content for. Plus the console is less expensive than the other one.

$350 (360 pro) $400 (40GB ps3)

I dont think 50 dollar differnce is that big of a deal breaker.

Noone ever compares the starting price for some reason. *shrugs* And then list all the things you'd "need". Next.

even if you bought an arcade, you need a hard drive to play online, am i wrong?

that's at least 130 bucks extra with a hard drive and online
there is so much context in that though. It could have the exact same plot and characters, weapons, etc., but could have all the things I mentioned.GunSmith1_basic

Well until you have factual evidence that states otherwise when Rockstar says that the games will be the identical it means the games will be the identical. Take whatever context you want. Identical is basically a mirror image. I'm taking the devs word over your speculation.

but is there pop up in the 360 version? I have no idea. An ps3 install would elminate it

Funny thing about the word identical. Meaning that if there was pop up in the 360 version an identical occurnance would mean that there would be pop up in the identical PS3 version as well. Seeing as they are identical :|

If this does not occur then R* has lied simply put. As they have stated previously that the games will be the same and identical. So there is really only one question left. How much faith do you have in R*'s word?

You have to admit that long extended play periods favors PS3. I don't get how our 360 bros. seem to think the extra content is going to be free. No matter what its going to cost on either system.De_Bears

I'm sorry but are you joking? How in the world does one console favor another in extended periods of time? I've played my 360 for up to 9 hours in one day(yes I get lazy during summer sometimes) and have had no problems. Does someone really plan to play GTA for 24 hrs straight? If so, I don't think it's the system that will choose which is better for extended, its the environment in which it is kept. Don't live in an oven and your console won't treat you like ****.

 • Because 360 will break down

jetpropilot

might

not will

it's called risk tolerance

different people have different levels

i'm not a hardcore gta fan so the DLC means nothing to me anyway (not that I'd be willing to pay for it anyway) so I'd obviously opt for it on the system that is less likely to break down and more likely to let me enjoy the game over a long period of time (i must've played vice city for over a year)

Its comments like these that make me say GTA fans are of the most confusing game fans on this site at this time.

you're confusing the two......

just because i enjoyed the game for well over a year doesn't mean i'm a hardcore fan

doesn't mean i went back and purchased gta3 (never played)

doesn't mean I went back to enjoy the "old clas sics" (gta2, the original gta)

fact is, if i want to enjoy the game for a long period of time, the ps3 is my best bet

And that right there is speculation. You're going based off what happened to your "colleague" and some people on the internet that say so. There's a high chance your 360 won't just crash on you for no reason. There are some people who get RROD for no reason, but other people get it cause they don't take care of their console. Me, and everyone I know, hasn't had a prob. with the 360. And I know a lot of others haven't as well.

Hey if you want it for PS3, go for it. Just don't go spreading that the 360 is a console that can't handle playing a game for a long period of time, or can't last "a year or more." when there's an overwhelming % of the 360 owning population that have yet to have problems.

i plan on getting the 360 version mainly cus i dont have a ps3. i dont see how dlc is a bad thing. if you dont want it dont buy it. and from what i read the exclusive content is closer to an expansion pack, and they supposedly have up to 20 hours of gameplay a pop. of course you,re gonna have to pay.

I'm going to wait until the game is released to decide which version to buy.

As of now however, I'm thinking about preordering the Special Edition Xbox 360 version for $100.

seriously microsoft paid $50 million for this content whilst Sony hasn't paid anything and still PS3 fanboy's say this content is coming to the PS3, to me it is jealousy.

It sounds like they're claiming that "downloadable content" in some form will reach the Playstation 3. If it does, the downloadable content most likely will consist of extra vehicles, outfits, possibly side-missions, or other minor things. The two exclusive episodic content packs that will be released for the Xbox 360 exclusively probably won't ever make it to the PS3 given the circumstances (and the contract Microsoft has with R*).

From what I've put together, the PS3 is getting DLC, but it won't be exclusive. While the 360 gets the same DLC as the PS3, it's also getting the exclusive episodic content.

Truth here!!! I don't doubt that the ps3 will get some DLC, cars, clothes maybe some mini-games/side missions, but the 360 is confirmed to be recieving exclusive "episodic content" which will add to the main story of the game and make it that much more enjoyable. Any TRUE gta fan would see past their system loyalty(which I can't understand) and realise that extra EPISODIC content is a must have for TRUE fans of the series.

It's hard to catch sarcasm in a 5 word sentence with no emoticons conveying sarcastic intent.

Both look good but it depends on what console you already have. Personally free-roam for me is better on the PS3 dualshock controller.

You know coming from a person who isn't a GTA fan this is what I thought as well. If you released one of my favorite games on two platforms why wouldn't I choose the version of the game that is getting the extra exclusive episode content?
If I was going to buy the game I would get it on the PS3 regardless of the extra content that may be lost once the system fails again. Where the hard copy there is no chance of this happening at any time. Really the PS3 version may have all the content on the disc when it's released without having to download the extra things.
What planet are you living on? The amount of PS3 owners that think they will get the exclusive content the 360 is getting is amazing. Are people this gullible? MS didn't shell out 50 million for PS3 owners to receive the same thing.
