not will
it's called risk tolerance
different people have different levels
i'm not a hardcore gta fan so the DLC means nothing to me anyway (not that I'd be willing to pay for it anyway) so I'd obviously opt for it on the system that is less likely to break down and more likely to let me enjoy the game over a long period of time (i must've played vice city for over a year)

Its comments like these that make me say GTA fans are of the most confusing game fans on this site at this time.
you're confusing the two......
just because i enjoyed the game for well over a year doesn't mean i'm a hardcore fan
doesn't mean i went back and purchased gta3 (never played)
doesn't mean I went back to enjoy the "old clas sics" (gta2, the original gta)
fact is, if i want to enjoy the game for a long period of time, the ps3 is my best bet
And that right there is speculation. You're going based off what happened to your "colleague" and some people on the internet that say so. There's a high chance your 360 won't just crash on you for no reason. There are some people who get RROD for no reason, but other people get it cause they don't take care of their console. Me, and everyone I know, hasn't had a prob. with the 360. And I know a lot of others haven't as well.
Hey if you want it for PS3, go for it. Just don't go spreading that the 360 is a console that can't handle playing a game for a long period of time, or can't last "a year or more." when there's an overwhelming % of the 360 owning population that have yet to have problems.
