Is it just me, or does anyone else not care about the minute differences in the versions? If you own a 360, play the 360 version and enjoy it. You own a PS3, play it on PS3. Its not like you are getting a different game.

All this fuss and bickering about what stones on a wall or which stream looks better? Its getting to be incredibly ridiculous. Who really cares?

.1 on a review, a year late, who cares? None of you made the game, and none of you are making money from it. Just stop the arguing. Nope. Z OoT was 10 on GS couple years back. Should they review that Game now It'd get a 8.8 probably. Standards improve with Time

I thought the rules is GS's score is the be all and end all.  So if you can't abide by that please leave SW since it seems that is the rule around here when it comes to reviews. You can make up anything you like to combat it not beating the 360 score but the rules are the rules and you can't change them for your console no matter how much of a fanboy anyone is

Anyway its not that big of a deal that the PS3 version did not come with all the expansion packs I mean Oblivion is still a good game but with that extra time of development they could of just put it in there. Not really, but who cares. Both games are pretty much identical. I don't even understand why cows & lemmings are arguing over this. It's dumb. The developers took about 8-10 months to make improvements for the game for the PS3 version instead of just porting the XBox 360 version over like most companies did back in the PS2 /XBox days. That's a good thing. They improved the graphics, speed, loading times and fixed many bugs. That's what they are suppose to do. Trying to compare a 1 yrs old XBox 360 ES:Oblivion game with a 8-10 redeveloped PS3 ES:Oblivion game is stupid. Of course it'll have some improvements over the 1yr old version. There is absolutely no ownage in that at all. If you want to compare something, compare the Virtua Tennis 3 game that just got released on PS3 & XBox 360. They were both programmed and released at the same time. Compare CoD3, Marvel Ultimate Alliance or Armor Core 4. All those games released at the same time. Nuff said.

Standards. Last year Greg actually said the PC version is better than the 360 version and it got .3 lower.

I don't know about this.  Halo on the Xbox scored higher than it did on the PC, yet it was much better on the PC because of higher textures and M/K support.  Although it didn't have the co-op play, it had much better online play.

Yes that is true, but any game that is ported to another system a year or longer later than it was first released is gonna take a point deduction. It wont seem as original and fresh and therefore cannot be given a higher score than the game that set the bar. It's lucky it came out this early and only took a .1 hit. Oot a 10 point game lowered over a point when it headed to the Virtual Console. Although this is different and the grading rules for arcade/vc games should be seperate, it is still an instance in this trend of grading. Just rest assured the game is great no matter what system its on and the .1 is pretty much reviewing protocol.

Oblivion? Oh yeah... I finished that like... a little less than a year ago. What's the question again?

The PC version is good even without a great computer. I played it for hundreds of hours using a Radeon x600 and 512mb of ram. my friend plays it (ALOT) with his GeForce 6150 LE or somthing like that.

This has probably been posted already (I'm not scanning 15 pages to see if it has), but just in case it hasn't been, I'll post this from Gamespot's review:

 The PlayStation 3 version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is every bit as impressive as the Xbox 360 and PC versions. However, this isn't necessarily the best version of the game.

PC version is probably best.
