Last generation sheens: oh my goly look batman the ps3 supports 7 controllers thats amazing choice and options Sony is always giving us the best.
PWFB'S: but no games will really use the option.
This generation sheens: lol what a lame idea M$ just wants to force you to buy more controllers no games will have 8 players.
_Matt_
Last generation lems: 7 players? ha, pointless. (they were right)
this generation lems: oh wow this is so cool, we can have 8 controllers, yes this will be amazing, we can play 8 player local, the cows have been owned!
I can do that too you know
no no you got it wrong. Last generation lems: 7 players? useless no games will use it. This generation lems: lol 8 controller support? lets rub it in sheens faces and watch them go into Sony damage control mode and show yet another layer of hypocracy[QUOTE="XBOunity"]
[QUOTE="_Matt_"]
Yup 6 > 4..... but only IF games used this. For this to be an advantage at all, it would need a good chunk of games supporting this. I mean PS3 supported 7 players, please provide me a list of at least 25-30 mainstream titles on PS3 that took advantage of more than 4 players? If you can do that, then it'll prove that the X1 has an advantage here.
_Matt_
its in this thread, neogaf posted it, anyway this gen could be difference because of the tech that is now in place on the XBO. I always thought it was cool, and I do have a bunch of friends that actually play games and it could exceed more than 4 so this is a cool option. If anything it proves that the XBO has a superior bandwidth advantage to PS4 bluetooths, and it also proves worthwhile that you can have 6 profiles signed into at once and all you have to do is pick up a controller and have the XBO recognize you and have all your settings button configs all imported and ready to go on the fly. Family play, tournament play, etc are superior on the XBO and alot faster and ease of use for sure on the XBO. Its not a huge deal, but its a nice tidbit.
Pretty pathetic list, it's mostly just yearly rehashed releases of sports games.
Having 6 profiles signed in at the same time is all fine, but when there is only Fifa and a few other sports games that support it it's pointless. As it is, why wou;d you need 6 controllers for family and friends? The X1 is already confirmed to know when the controller changes hands, and will automatically sign the new player in,
that too, im just thinking in terms of say a game like fifa. looks like ill be getting 6 controllers, lol, im looking for a reason and this is good enough. So pumped up for next gen!!
damn, cancelling my ps4 preoder because of this, obviously you need 8 controllers at all time, how can they not have made this a priority?!
/scarcasm
Unless games make use of this which 99 percent won't with online being where multiplayer is at, this will be a useless feature. In my opinion, ms just wants to tout hey look we support more at once than Sony. Numbers mean nothing if it isn't put to use.
sirk1264
i dont think that, i think the wireless technology allows it now, its not limited like it was last gen, and why wouldnt they do this?? it could encourage more controller sales. Also having 6 profiles signed in at once could do something to do with it. Its pretty cool and if its put to use once that is good enough reason for it being an option.

Means nothing if they don't create game to support it and what genres would be good enough to handle 8 players save for a few mini game compilations? You're definiately not going a split-screen co-op going with 8 players. This is pretty much next to worthless.

Fair enough if you have enough friends who like Fifa. I played 7 player Fifa on my PS3 once this gen. It was brilliant fun sure, but it was only a single time, and was during freshers week of first year, most of my friends don't generally like sports games.
In an era where splitscreen is being phased out, I don't see how that's really relevant anymore.

The wireless solution on the DS4 is vastly inferior to Microsofts wireless solution. More bandwidth confirmed on XBO.
More bandwidth? Why is the wireless solution vastly inferior to MS's? You seem to be talking out of your behind.
MS uses WiFi Direct, DS4 uses bluetooth I believe.I'm not a fanboy. However, I gotta say, what is the use for 8 controllers? No game will support that, it's absurd. The number of controllers doesn't add to the quality of a system. 4 controllers is plenty. Nuff said.
Lmao Last gen lems: Why do you need 7 players on ps3, everyone plays online anyways. This gen lems: 8 players omg tournament play with mom and dad and uncles!!!Mr-Kutaragi:lol: true
