[QUOTE="PS4TrumpsXbox1"][QUOTE="granddogg"]What they need to do is take off the drm, instead of requiring people to go online to do a day one patch. They can do all these changes, boosting power and other crap, but they cant do that. Seem like they want people to download the patch so they can see how many people have access to internet and when they get the consumer base and see if there is a large enough base that has internet (probably why they left drm on there), here comes those dumb policies right back *Puts on tinfoil hat* If you want conspiracy theories, look into 9/11, Sandy Hook, Boston Bombing. Drm is gone. For now, but for how long? Microsoft has shown that they can make all these hardware and software changes on their end, so why not take it off. Maybe its cuz they know only those with relaible internet connection and people that have internet connection will buy their new xbox. So all they have to do is play the waiting game for a couple years and bam! initiate a mandatory patch that brings those policies all back. Look at last gen, they had so many great exclusives at the beginning of 360 and after 4 or 5 years or so the support started to dwindle, why do you think that is? Maybe because they had a consumer base they were happy with so they knew they didnt have to provide all those exclusives. How many exclusives did they have this year on 360? Wasnt it like one?http://www.geekwire.com/2013/xbox-update-console-full-production-improved-cpu-performance/

[QUOTE="Nonstop-Madness"]Or could that be the potential CPU speed out of the box before Sony started fiddlng with it? This sound more truerererer. Probably not. I wouldn't see why Sony would try to overclock a low power CPU by at least 750Mhz (1.5GHz-2.0Ghz is the standard for Jaguar cores). They would have been better off choose a different core architecture for their APU.I would also like to clarify the whole "max 2.75Ghz" thing. 2.75GHz is that max clock speed of both CPU and GPU combined because the APU is a single chip.
GPU - 800 MHz+

[QUOTE="clyde46"][QUOTE="Nonstop-Madness"]Not sure it works that way. Both Intel and AMD rate their CPUs to a maximum "bin" speed. The max binned speed of that chip is 2.75GHz. The GPU will have its own speed allocation. Clyde you are on a God Damn roll. Dont stop and pedal down brotha. Smokin these fools like it aint no thang. I made an error, the process is actually called Speed Binning. Its what decides if a chip is an i5 or an i3 or an i7 for example and then at what speed. Silicon lottery decides on how well a chip clocks at. If its a good chip with a high clock speed then it will become part of the high end lines, if its a poor clocker then it gets put in the budget lines.I would also like to clarify the whole "max 2.75Ghz" thing. 2.75GHz is that max clock speed of both CPU and GPU combined because the APU is a single chip.

They would have been better off choose a different core architecture for their APU. Its not just the CPU under that heatsink, that heatsink has got to cool both the CPU and GPU. As I said before, cooling will be the deciding factor and considering these machines are enclosed in a metal case, then put in a plastic casing with a 7+ life span on the card, both companies will want to make both machines as tough and long lasting as possible. You saw what happened when MS tried shoving high end kit in a enclosed box with poor cooling.I would also like to clarify the whole "max 2.75Ghz" thing. 2.75GHz is that max clock speed of both CPU and GPU combined because the APU is a single chip.

This is twice that so called insider has been right on the money, flash ram, now this !! Next up dgpu????!!!TighamanLol can only wish :P
[QUOTE="FLOPPAGE_50"]
so now sony has the better GPU, while M$ has a better CPU.
xhawk27
Yeah like last gen when the PS3 had the better CPU and the 360 had the better GPU. :cool:
Â
No, id argue the PS4 has a much stronger GPU in comparison the the 360 <-> PS3 comparison, and the Xbone has a weaker CPU in the same comparison. Â
so this cpu speed bump actually makes Xbox One more intelligent than PS4 at least 150Mhz more :cool:Opus_Rea-333actually i was wrong it is 1.2GHz since 150 x8 cores = 1.2 Ghz thats alot !!
so this small bump actually makes Xbox One CPU 1.2 Ghz more powerful than PS4s Cpu :cool:
A meaningless number will cause the dwellers a serious butthurt :cool:TessellationLMAO nice sig BTW..

''This 2.75GHz figure is the WCLK of the GDDR5 interface. GDDR5 has two clocks: One for adresses and commands (1.375GHz in PS4) and one for data (2.75GHz in PS4). You can easily do the math since Cerny mentioned several times that PS4 will have a 256Bit interface and a bandwidth of 176GB/s. You need the aforementioned clocks to reach the needed data rate of 5.5Gbps.''[QUOTE="Tighaman"]This is twice that so called insider has been right on the money, flash ram, now this !! no dude its not the APU mhz added up all together, its the clock of the GDDR5, 2.75 ghz x2= 5.5 ghz which is what the ps4 is running at effective memory clock[QUOTE="xhawk27"]Still a half teraflop behind :lol: The X1 will be more powerful than that when all the dust settles. Now it's up to 1.4tf for the Xbox One.Â

If there was some kind of megaton like a hidden dGPU then there wouldn't be any reason to upclock the GPU and CPU to begin with. I'm pretty disappointed too that the only thing MS has been able to accomplish since the PS4 reveal is some lousy upclocks but it is what it is.

MS will probably have an "opt in" policy for digital downloads and DRM to allow for the reselling of digital games. They will give you choice, stay with the old way or you can move into the future at your own pace.

You are right. I get nothing out of hoping but I loose nothing if it's a bust. Either way I win with my sexy X1.[QUOTE="killzowned24"][QUOTE="xhawk27"]Still a half teraflop behind :lol: The X1 will be more powerful than that when all the dust settles. the dust settle and reveal the red lights of death version 2..you guys love to nibble on the xbone huh?Now it's up to 1.4tf for the Xbox One.Â

Xbox just cant get out of the news.  I think this is a good thing to be honest.   Cows cant stop talking about them IE Damien, xboxiphone, tormentos, etc.  Goes to show you they are nervous.   This new is great news for XBO owners.   deal with it
