So does that mean that they have the anti RROD mother boards out now?!

I really don't care...
It's not like i'm gonna buy another one or something. For me 12 Gigs of free space is more than enough...
Still smaller than the pS3 80GB and the Terabyte of space I have at my side.Jade_Monkey
No installs required with 360 games thank god. Plus this is the equivalent of the 40GB machine. The 120GB Elite compares to the 80GB PS3.

theirs a 120gb 360 too ya know :|
[QUOTE="Jade_Monkey"]Still smaller than the pS3 80GB and the Terabyte of space I have at my side.chansaetsince there are no installs the extra space really isn't needed Heck the 20GB I have is enough for me
Isn't the addition of optional installation this fall the reason why Microsoft discountinued the 20gb version in favor of a larger hard drive?
[QUOTE="vaderhater"]Games :lol:Jade_Monkey
You saying the 360 or PC has no games ?
Did I mention anything specific about what system? Did I come in to say how much harddrive space I got on my PS3 and PC? No.Did I mention anything specific about what system? Did I come in to say how much harddrive space I got on my PS3 and PC? No. vaderhater

Never heard about that before. If it's optional I wont be installing thats for sure. A few seconds more of loading is not worth buying a new harddrive

You said NOTHING ELSE REQUIRED. See?[QUOTE="Ryoco"]60gb? I believe I can have a lot more than that with the PS3 (and a lot lot more than that on a PC).
PS3_3DO
And most PS3 games requires 5gb to be installed on the HDD.
No they don't , don't lie.
The game you scored a 1 doesn't even require that much, close, but not 5!
You would know that if you've actually played the game or own a Ps3.

80GB PS3 = $499. 60GB 360 = $349. Big difference.
80gig is actually going down to $399
TS, I don't know why you think these new units won't RRoD.
Aren't they using the new motherboards and the new smaller GPU?

I was asking if these new xboxs had a new motherboard that diddnt fry every 2 months. I thought I heard that ms was going to address RROD with the 60gb models.

Well, they are, but we've all heard this before. So only time will tell.
I still have like 68.8 gigs left with my 120 gig Elite, and knowing games on the 360 don't need mandatory installs is just a nice cushion. I think a 60 gig 360 with BC is the sweet spot.

I'm glad someone brought this up. While HDD space is a nice thing to have, neither the 360 nor the PS3 truly need the amount of space each one brings to the table; it's just a stupid pissing contest between MS and Sony. I suppose if I was running linux on my PS3, then I'd want more HDD space, but otherwise, 40-60 gigs on the PS3, and 20 on the 360 should be fine (unless you're saving a lot of HD programming on your 360).
Hate to burst bubbles but the $399 80gb PS3 is a better value, because of Blu Ray and the pre-installed wifi. Just adding wifi to a 360 60gb makes it $449 add $50 to play online for a year $499 and then a wireless rechargeable battery pack $539 total. The $499 MGS4/Pain b/c_80gb bundle is the best going.
Anyone who denies the $150, and still missing blu ray play, difference is fooling themselves. And its not about choice.

So its $400 if you play online and 20 gigs less then the 80 gig PS3 coming a month later.
PS3 still a far better deal.
I'm not sure if they have the new chipset or not. The Jasper was rumored for an August release, but there hasn't been any announcement as to whether or not all the new 60gb ones will have Jaspers. We'll honestly have to wait until either an official announcement from MS or for someone to take one apart and compare the layout to the other models.KodiakGTSit will probably be announced once they sell all the older units. But probably someone will dismantle one to see.

Blu-ray is only worth it if you have a 1080p TV and want to drop $30 a movie for the something you can get for $10-15 already. It's an option. If I could get the PS3 without it and save $100 I would, but Sony is pushing a trojan horse MM-device. It all comes down the fact that the PS3 is primarily a Blu-Ray player and the 360 is primarily an gaming system.
With 80GB PS3 that's not out yet, you don't get Backwards Compatiblity. So you sacrifice being able to play PS2 games so you play movies. Bad in my opinion. So the future 80GB PS3 is ripping you of of a $129 feature. Making it $528 if you're into gaming. $528 vs $349...hmm. A HD movie buff might think otherwise, hence the PS3 blu-ray loving casual gamers.
Whaa? So you are saying that 1080p is bad? Watching movies in the best media format is bad? Getting more out of a console is bad?
PS3 can upscale a DVD and it still can't touch the resolution of watching Hitman or 300 in full 1080p blu ray. But I really hope you enjoy your digital download, even if PS3 can do that also.

Blu-Ray biggest enemy is the fact that there is very few 1080p capable TV's out in the world at this point.[QUOTE="De_Bears"]Umm..WHY do I need wi-fi? You need wifi so you can steal connectivity from the guy next door. You need Blu Ray cause there is no better way to watch Ricky Bobby shake and bake baby.
Also...Can't be a lemming without a Cliff to jump off.
No, no. I'm not saying 1080p is bad. I'm saying Blu-Ray being forced on gamers who don't want it is bad. I don't need to enjoy digital downloads, they aren't worth the money. I prefer DVD, but I picked up a 360 HD-DVD player with 6 good movies and remote for $50 brand new. To be honest the 1080p res of the movies does nothing for me. DVD is just fine and I'm not sacrificing my 40 DVD collection for some format I don't care to pay for.For gamers the 40GB PS3 is equivelent to $528, the 60GB 360 is $349. That's my opinion.

Wow buddy you have no right to generalize what a gamer wants. I have been playing some version of video games since pong, and I want the best out of the machine. I get the most out of my PS2 as a simple kitchen DVD player, whose to say I won't do that with Blu Ray PS3 one day.
If you can't see the difference then you need to blame your TV. With certain games and movies there is a certain omfg emotion I see with 1080p.
You seem to support the new 60gb 360 but don't care for digital dl....... why do you think they are adding more space in the first place.

A lot of PS3 games require space on the HDD. Also I didn't give MGS4 a 1. I don't know what you are talking about.
HD installs are on the way for the 360. They will be optional for the first games, but I really won't be suprised one bit to see certain future titles require mandatory. Especially as they begin to push the limits of the hardware.
Still smaller than the pS3 80GB and the Terabyte of space I have at my side.Jade_Monkey
Your going to need a terabyte of space for all those negating game installs your going to do...oh wait..PS3 has no games.

Look at your own review list...
And I'll bet you a majority of Ps3 games don't require it.
