Nice. The pressure is now on the PS3 with a 360 model at $199 and Wii at $249. New consumers will not buy a PS3 at $399 with the comp that low.Bigboi500
Well the PS3 has been doing just fine as the more expensive console if we look at NPD numbers.

That was before the price drops of the 360. Think about it, new consumer wants a video game system, if they see a Wii in stock they'll buy that. If no Wii's are available, they'll see the 360 and the PS3 and look at the numbers: $399 vs. $199. Hmm... In this terrible economy most people will be searching for the cheapest price available.[QUOTE="Bigboi500"]Nice. The pressure is now on the PS3 with a 360 model at $199 and Wii at $249. I highly doubt PS3 sales are just going to stop because of this. I don't even see them really slowing, just 360 sales picking up.

but what if the salesperson tells them about GOld and how you can DL demo's etc. think the sales person will allow that person to walk out with just a arcade box if the person is interested in demos etc. i sure hope not.[QUOTE="Bigboi500"][QUOTE="Koalakommander"][QUOTE="Bigboi500"]Nice. anyways...
have fun gaming on your weak and pathetic over heat machines
people mention how the price of consoles lowers, but so do the price of pc parts which can make pc's at least 5times as powerful as consoles. at least the ps3 owners can use any hard drive they want. im leaving out the wii because no GAMER in their right mind would even look at it.
time to start building my new rig for $400 which can totally destroy your weak machines, and i mean come on. 1/3 360's rrod. i really prefer not to play russian roulette with my money. call me a hermit if you will, but your blind fanboyisms will be the end of you consolites. thats the great thing about pc gaming, no fanboys(except for maybe intel, but they're gonna take over the world so might as well jump on the bandwagon now)

You're talking about high-end users and they are like two cents a dozen. Most people want to play x or y game, and will upgrade features later. A $299 PS3 would sell much better.it has a memory card included, sure you cant save movies and demos but you can play games

The $199 Arcade will be great for almost every gamer since people buy console to play games not for a multimedia device.. Most people do not care about downloading movies since pretty much everyone has at least a dvd player already and a PC to download music. $199 and able to play GTA,Halo3,Mass Effect, Gears of war 2 and all the other games. That is a awsome deal.Eltrozcorrrect, but what abotu the demos. i wish MS would of made the HDD standard. oh well Good luck MS

That's pretty close to the way I see it. I don't know why everyone here thinks everyone everywhere needs a hard drive.

i dont know you tell me. you are buying a game system correct? so why not have the HDD to dl GAME DEMO'S, since customer Y bought it to play games.Customer Y gets home.
Customer Y- wow what is this XBL Market, (custome sees dl demos free)
Customer y - check outs couple demo's , moves his cursor to DL. Message pops up, YOU NEED A HARD DRIVE.
Calls up MS. hey i need a harddrive, how much does it cost
Customer Service -100.00
CUst Y -100.00!!!!!!! , customer packs up console and gets a Xbox with HDD or a ps3. lol

Demos haven't been worth anything for a long time - shorter and with fewer features. For a $100 difference, I say forget the demos. Just let me play the games.

I just think the fact that a 360 w/o a hard drive is silly because XBOX Live IMO is the best thing about the 360.

Look I know this is system wars so people will try to find any flaw and act like it is something huge no matter what it is. People though in the real world not the type that are desperate to find anything to bash the other console will see $199 for a 360 or $399 for a PS3 and know $200 more is to much for demos.Consoles magic number has always been $200 or below. For example where was all the demos for the PS2 but look how many it sold.$199 to be able to play all the 360 games is a great deal I do not care what anyone says.
Wow a $299 Blu Ray player. Nice.

You can still use Live, even Gold. You just can't download the larger files such as demos and movies.
Perfect for me since I don't care about those at all.
If I did, however, then I could go ahead and purchase the 60GB model.

We don't even need to look at NPD. We can also look world wide.Seems to be only RadioshackEVOLV3
Um, no. It'll be everywhere. Radioshack doesn't offer those kinda good deals. It's a Radioshack ad, well because... that's what was leaked.
