If you think HALO is the perfect shooter, then you obviously haven't played alot of shooters. BTW, the archetype for the FPS came out three years before Halo: it's called Half-Life.

People just drive to Britain ever since Eastern Europe became part of the Eu everything has changed. Eu citizens can live in any Eu country legally. People are misinterpreting what im saying, First off, I mentioned that it is the greatest console ever within its first 3 years, not ever. Second off all, nobody should be bringing up the DreamCast, sure it had good games, but are they better than the games I just mentioned? the PS2 only had a few games that were online compatible, and you needed to buy the HDD seperatelly, AND online wasn't available till a few years after the system came out. Almost all games on the 360 could either be played on-line or have some kind of on-line capability right out of the box.

Did these systems pave the way to what the 360 is today? sure, but they are not better,( Remember within the first 3 years) The NES is trully a console for the ages, but it wasn't w/o its problems, remember how sometimes games woudn't play, you had to blow in them to get them to work, this would piss me off, how many times were you at the end of a game only to have your freeze on you. games were extremely expensive, $50-70 was a lot of money at that time,

6 axis is terrible btw, but i do like ps3's controller more.

agreed. I'm not a fan of what they did with R2 and L2 either. The problems I have with the 360 controller are it still feels too bulky for my taste and the alternate placement of analog sticks it uncomfortable.

It would be sad for 360 games not to be better than games on the dreamcast or any of the other past consoles. This whole thred is kinda pointless. its like asking if consoles become more powerful as the years go by. The answer is yes.

It's the overall package in which the Xbox 360 provides - no console even comes close to it. And like Dreams-Vision said, "360 wins on OS and software that runs the 360. Add on Live...and you have features that the competition is still trying to figure out how to just catch up to 3 years later." Again, something doesn't have to be "new" in order to be good. Look at Halo for example, it basically set the bar for what shooters should do when it was released - did it bring anything new to the table? not really, it took all the great shooter aspects and perfected them in a nice overall package.

The Xbox 360 has done that - and the Xbox 360 experience is unmatched.

If one were to argue over comfort - they would say that the Xbox 360s analog sticks are extremely well placed which places your thumb in a comfortable straight position, and not awkward position such as with the PS3s. True - that statement was quite "vague" and openended, which is great - anyone can come in and challenge me and in which I would so modestly elaborate further in. But no one has, therefore there is no need too. I called him out on his - and he failed. It has been entertaining though, from him being naive on what an opinion was to him so trying to argue... trying to get me to argue why I think it's not the best controller. Sad really.

PS3 was off to a rough start for sure.. but things are picking up, in both sales and games.

This gen is still only beginning though, and declaring 360 the winner... well, not really appropriate at this time.

You never said outright that the 360 controller was better. However, in every one of your posts in this thread, you lead the reader to infer that it is your stance. Now, you have been talking about people throwing their opinions around with no backing. I find it hypocritical since you say no console even comes close to the 360 and then use a random quote from 1 source to "back your point."

True - that statement was quite "vague" and openended, which is great - anyone can come in and challenge me and in which I would so modestly elaborate further in. But no one has, therefore there is no need too. I called him out on his - and he failed. It has been entertaining though, from him being naive on what an opinion was to him so trying to argue... trying to get me to argue why I think it's not the best controller. Sad really.

Well if you read, you would see that I never once have tried to get you to argue your point. I simply stated the problems I have with the 360 controller are it still feels too bulky for my taste, the alternate placement of analog sticks is uncomfortable, and that I prefer the 6-axis. As for above, I stated that every one of your posts lead the reader to infer your stance, not just the part I quoted.

What I saw was strong and misinformed opinions. You advertise fact under the disguise of "here let me shove my tastes down your throat so you can't taste my blatant bias."

I agree those games are great too, but every console in ever generation had a list of games people considered to be "some of the greatest ever made" at that time period.

Then you say "best online play to date" which is laughable because you're 26 and still haven't discovered online PC gaming (the huge phenomonon that's been rocking the game industry for the past 12 years?).

Again, stating opinions as fact about the controller and how it fits your hands perfectly (i like it too though).

IMO the Wii's retro games > 360 retro games (not really but you see how flawed your argument is).

Achievments...it's just such a huge reason the 360 owns so hard that it deserves to be on the top 5 of my BS "fact" list of why 360 owns so hard.

I'm glad you enjoy your 360, I enjoy mine too. However I don't like how you say we are all "kidding" ourselves if we don't have your tastes, and I don't appreciate being called a PS3 fanboy ( i don't even own one...) by a someone who is obviously an extremely biased 360 owner.
