Xbox 360 has to be one of the greatest systems ever in its 1st 3 years out..

features aren't games and games aren't features.........So I'd say the ps3 does beat the 360 when it comes to features

Ps2 had 28 AAAs and 85 AAs out in it's first 3 years. that's the begining of 2000 to the end of 2002.

360 had 11 AAAs and 56 AAs out in it's first 3 years. that's the begining of 2005 to the end of 2007.

that's according to metacritic, not including XBLA games.

best ever ? that title goes to SNES

Greatest system ever? Yeah, right there behind the original NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, Dreamcast, PS1 and PS2...

So yeah, its ahead of the original xbox and maybe the Saturn and crap like the neo geo...sweet.

It's a great console, no doubt. But one of the best? I doubt it, the NES, SNES, PS1, PS2, DS and even the Dreamcast in it's very short lifespan had better first years. The PS2 alone had far surpassed the 360 in it's first three years with games like ICO, MGS2, Final Fantasy X, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, GTAIII, GTA: Vice City, Twisted Metal:Black, Grand Turismo 3, Devil May Cry and the list just goes on and on. Not to mention all of those were exclusives except for GTAIII and GTA: Vice City which was released on the Xbox a year or two later.

It's a great console but one of the greatest ever is exaggerating the truth.

Yea because the greatest console get crushed by one system worldwide in sales, and only true success comes from NA. :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Gaming has evolved and so have standards. You can't make comparisons like that. At the same time though, it's not surprising that people feel that a now gen console is the best ever, because it is. Graphics, sound, immersion, control, gameplay, online etc etc have all been improved over the years, so it's bound to be the best.

I'm 43 and I've been gaming since its first inception, and whilst nostalga is great and I have fond memeroies of every gaming platform I've owned, I could never say that we haven't had it so good.

I disagree. If i do not have a ps2 now nor a 360, and had to choose between one of them. I will take the ps2 for its awesome libary.

Sorry I think the PS2 and DC had better success in their times.

Seriously, the 360 did nothing except for rely on new technology. DC had online access when no one had it. PS2 was the first to integrate a HDD to consoles and broadband connection. PS2 was also the first console that could be used to play games and watch movies on.
