[QUOTE="drj077"] [QUOTE="Bigboi500"]Got my 360 which includes 20gb HDD for a total of $220 plus online gaming is not a necessity so some of us don't pay $50 a year for live gold. -DrRobotnik-
That isn't the point. Going spec by spec and offer by offer, the PS3 is the best deal. Especially, if you can find a decent offer and get it for under $300 like I did. A blu-ray player is $200. Built-in wireless and free internet is worth probably over $300-$400 throughout the life on the console. The dual shock 3 controller is $40 on some websites. Plus, you can install a 320 GB hard drive instead of the 80 or whatever you happen to have at the time. The cell processor, hard drive, motherboard, GPU, and ram are probably all worth over $250. That's a lot of good technology for practically a steal.
The 360 doesn't even offer close to similar specs at 2/3s to half the price. And, people continue to buy into this crap. What is really funny is that the system you just bought for $220 is worth half that price now that you took it out of the box while the PS3 continues to hold its value.
Seriously, people need to get a clue on this. It's not rocket science to see which system is the better deal. The 360 with it's three cores, GPU, maybe a hard drive, etc. is incredibly dated technology. My computer that I payed $350 dollars to build is easily 2-3 times as fast as that machine.
NOBODY IS ARGUING THAT! My god, you'd think people would read. People accept that the PS3 is BETTER VALUE, BUT! its still more expensive than the 360, no matter what way you spin it. Therefore this thread is now OVER!That's the thing, though. In terms of long term committment, the 360 will be cheaper now, but it will devalue faster. The second you take it out of the box, you're out a $100. This isn't true with the PS3. You're right, I can spin this however I want, but this problem is analagous to buying an American-made care right now. You drive it off the lot and it's worth half of what you paid for it. You buy foreign and you don't have that problem. That's why I own a brand new Toyota Corolla.
