Is it really that much of a big deal to you TC? I mean take MGS4 for example, it takes 5 minutes to load every new act. If it was a 360 game, yes you would probably have to switch discs but that can only take 1 min or 2. I can honestly admit that the PS3 has better graphics than the 360 but the 360's graphics are still quite impressive and it's not too far behind the PS3 it terms of quality. Also I'd like to point out that 360 most of the time has the better version of multiplats.

Dont forget that all the great looking games for the PS3, are first party(minus MGS4) and the 360 hasnt had a good first party game in a while. So we dont know that first partys can do with the 360.

[QUOTE="wickedwaffle"]ok there has been no ps3 games that has 2 disks yet is this gen whyll otherwise xbox 360 games has dozens uv them even two uv da following 2009 exclusives has 2 disks (( forza 3 ( ) splinter cell))) but then the xbox owners want to say there games look better than ps3 games when there games are on 2 disks and ps3 games are on 1 and ps3 games still look better \Animal-Mother
Wait lawl wut? PS3 doesnt need two disc games due to blu-ray. Plus i don't mind 2 dvd's

you know how uncomfortable it is to be in the middle a a game only to be asked to insert Disk 2 it's a burdon.

they should have left that in the 90s.

[QUOTE="navstar29"]So by your logic, If I had a PS1 game with 100 discs it would look better than any game on both the 360 and PS3 ... hmm interestingKashiwaba

Ah I might get brain damage if I stay here any longer cant you get the idea that PS3 and 360 graphics are nearly the same but to make a good graphics you need alot of codes and codes need space so alot of codes needs alot of space.

 ... he said it again! BTW nice sentace formatting

In a programming sense you couldn't be more wrong, there is more coding correct BUT coding and lines of code themseves are not what takes up the space. Modern games tend to hae more detailed, more numerous and more various textures and geomety. THIS is what takes up the most space, models and textures NOT lines of code which make these assets work.

And since both consoles have pretty much the same texture memory that is not a huge sticking point, there has hardly been a game that even half filled a Blu-ray, you simply don't need that much space.

Anyway even if you were right (and you are not) it's a simple principle of programming that more code =/= better code, as the assets we code for get more complex there is more coing needed but simply extending your code will not give you a better result.

[QUOTE="MortalDecay"] The storage medium that a game is on has NOTHING to do with graphics. Plus, it's nice that you had to create a new account just to say that PS3 games look better....Couldn't say it on your normal account, because of how unsure you really are? :lol:ogvampire

Better graphics = more codes = need more space its simple cant you get it.

more graphics = more codes = needs more processing power (of which the ps3 doesnt have)

Sorry but it got enough processing power and the exclusives are a good proof.

Actually there's been quite a few, with Uncharted ~22GB, Resistance 2 at ~43GB, MGS4 at ~50GB + other (most likely first party games) which didn't release their Game size on disc data.

Thats true. 360 Version of FF13 on multiple discs would cost more to make and ship than the 1 Disc PS3 Version.

I didnt say it will use the whole Blu-ray and yes for normal games which doasnt use pre rendered CGI 2 DVDs are more than enough, and about Lost odyssey it used 4 DVDs cuz of CGI + Voice acting that game had english + Japanese + French + Dutch voice acting.

For MGS4, I understand but for FF13 it would suck. You try to enter a part of the world map and it asks you to swap discs.

ahhh blu-ray. Now with graphics processing capabilities.

What does a medium that a game is been distributed has to do with how good looking it is? Only thing that has to do is the amount of game there is and so far judging by what was released blu-ray is still not necessary for gaming

way more than 2 or 3 given the space required in MGS4

navstar29

MGS 4 was 32 gigs, That's without comprehensive compression with comprehensive compression and a dolby digital 5.1 only track then it would fit on 2 discs let alone the fact there is only about 3 hours of actual gameplay in mgs 4.

vids or it didn't happen ... and don't give me youtube videos of people's quick runs with the solar gun or the face camo

Go find an archive of thespeedgamers run of mgs 4 take out the cinematic and they beat it in about 3-4 hours gameplay online.

OOOO so thats why every game hes released in the MGS series has pretty much been a movie? Id think someone not stuck in the past would actually evolve his game.

P.S: forgot to add its so 1995 then i guess thats why ff7 was released in 97, and many multi disc games were released after that, and i do believe multidisc games on the ps2...

They aren't really using the extra storage capacity to improve in-game graphical quality. It's not like it'd help much anyway since you can't circumvent the PS3's hardware limitations just by using higher capacity discs. They're mostly only using it to store cutscenes and audio completely uncompressed, which personally I think is a waste of space. There are so few games even this gen that don't still fit comfortably on a single DVD.

If you need any proof that disc capacity =/= graphical quality, you need look no further than Crysis -- it's the undisputed graphics king for 2 years, and it only required about 5.46 GB of disc space.

There ya go. Crysis could fit on a DVD.

You remember when I told you that you should not hype, praise, etc just because it is exclusive? This is one of those moments. Have you played MGS? 1995

You know what? ps2's dvd-rom had more storage space than dreamcast's gd-rom, and that's why ps2 had better graphics, LOL NOT. The real truth ps2 version of unreal tournament 1999 was superior because ps2 has more system memory than dreamcast.

this gen started in 2005.

it is now 2005.

Wii is winning, Xbox 360 is second, Ps3 is last.

the Xbox 360 is competing very well with the PS3. both systems are neck & neck in power- although the PS3 does have a couple of very fine looking exclusives- Xbox 360 will hit back with games like Forza 3 ME2 etc which look outstanding.

very few Xbox 360 games require more than one disk and it is not a major issue at all.

Xbox 360 users get the option on most games to speed up loading by installing to the HDD. many PS3 games on the otherhand have this being mandatory as the BluRay drive inside the PS3 is quite slow.

at the end of the day both systems are very similar- which is the best is matter of opinion. From my viewpoiint I prefer the Xbox 360 due to the tendency for multiplats to be superior on the console, because I am very fond of the Xbox 360 controller (except for the D-Pad) and I am also a fan of games such as Halo & Fable.
