The 360 is a great console. XBLA, Achievements, Friend Lists, Leaderboards,GAME SELECTION. Great stuff.
It's mostly the multiplats that I'm really digging, but there are definitely a few exclusives that rock too.
nintendo are basicly selling last gen hardware for ridiculous prices and dont forget always treating european gamers badly with their games (lazy ports, games delayed).
face it no company is perfect, you just think some companies are more perfect than others
when you get RROD you experience the same PS3 gamers experience everydaywhoody12How witty. (sarcasm)
I made the mistake of buying a 360. I was worried everyday then I turned it on it would get the RROD. I sold it after 3 weeks and got most of my money back. It was too nerve racking for me.jdc6305
Do you have OCD? I mean, did you lose some sleep over it?

I mean... it isn't that expensive. If he was that worried, he should've just got a store warranty.Having had a an X-Box 360 for 5 days, I've experienced the lovely RROD. Having gone through it myself I must say, despite all the great games it has, is the 360 really worth it? It's been two years, and it's simply not acceptable that the 360 should still have his many problem. To all of you wanting a 360: Don't buy one. It's a waste of your money. I've kept it in a cool area, plenty of space, and have barely touched it since I got it. Turned the console on and off via my controllers, and have even kept my power cord elevated. I am now forced to come to one conclusion:
Only Nintendo is worthy of being in the gaming world. Sony lies too much, and Microsoft releases a failure of a console.

Maybe you should check the manufacture date before you bought it, unless you got it on ebay or craigslist (likely). Personaly I think you are full of crap judging by your sig. My 2nd gen 360 has never had a single problem and is fairly quiet and runs cool..i think you got a lemon.

Not only that, but since it RRoD in 5 days, he can bring it back to the store and get a brand new x360.
lol why are there so many fakeboys lately pretending that they own or used to own a 360? It's kind of pathetic actually.
MY console just got 4 AAA titles and mass effect (AAA gamerankings) in the last 4 months including generating the biggest entertainment sales of all time for one game in particular. While MY console was doing this, what did YOUR console do to counter it?
I'm either supposed to "just wait" or settle and trade in my mature games for super mario roaming the galaxy.
I think I'm pretty happy with where I'm at.

If you pay $500 for a console, you should not only expect it work, you should demand excellence at all times. It simply is not acceptable for Microsoft to have not fixed this problem. A true disgrace to gamers.

that's exactly why I don't own one. Look at all the xbox360 fanboys downplaying the issue though, somebody already told you that he had RROD three times but he still loves the xbox, I can't believe it!
Being on my 3rd console, I can easily say, "Yes, it is all worth it." For everything else it does.musicalmac
And why they don't fix this problem is still a mystery to me.Litchie

Looks like MS will never fix it.

I find that hilarious. And inevitably, you'll have that fanboy that comes in and says he's still on his launch unit and that is proof enough that the RROD doesn't exist even though MS admits it does.

Because it has the best current game library.
I gave up 2 ps2's because of the common disc read error problem, and Sony never even offered a specific warrenty for it. Does that mean I should have hated the system? No...it was clearly the best system last gen and if I wanted the best gaming experience it pretty much had to be from a ps2. the 360 is int eh same boat. You can settle for a bunch of flops and inferior multiplats on the ps3, or you can settle for inmature games on the wii....but you'll be missing out on the best current experience available.
I just bought a 360 last week. I love it so far although the damn disc drive says my games are dirty when they aren't!!!!!OllivanderThat sucks dude. I bought mine a month ago. The only problem I've had is it froze once during a XBLA game.
It's what happens when shoddy parts are used to save a few bucks. MS needs to fix the problem big time and the 3 year warranty is only a gimmick to distract from the problem.Zhengi\
Guess what the new ones have the new 65 nm chip and fix for it as confirmed by OXM.
I wonder what people will say against it when it is no longer a problem.
because many of us had to buy more than 1 ps2, yet we still accept that it was a great system.Jandurin
yep, I had a launch ps2. I had to go in and fix it 2 or 3 times due to DRE. FInally it crapped out for good. So I bought a slim. Still love it

So OXM has tested these new units out extensively or did they just throw together an article to say that the fix was confirmed? I'd definitely rather wait to confirm this cause not all launched units broke within the first few months of their release. I don't MS with their history of broken products.

There was just finally enough reason for me to purchase the system. I rarely take it online, though I do have a gold account.
I did get it for $40 from Amazon though. Not 50.

That's cool. I definitely will get one, but I don't feel it's the time yet. I'm definitely critical about the quality of the system because I find it ridiculous that they can't or are unwilling to fix the problem. The 3 year warranty gives me no assurances because I plan to be gaming past 3 years. I don't really care about the gold service since there are other alternatives that are free.

It is absolute garbage because of the RROD. Which is why I decided not to get the RROD 360. I got the regular 360.DaysAirlines
