On the computer system at work, and in the warehouse. They are just new bundles (Forza and Marvel: UA), but they are still different SKU's. Use a different description than SKU if you want to compare their models because SKU (stock keeping unit) numbers change every time the package is altered slightly.

Even if you don't count them, that leaves MS with 4 and Sony with 4. Sony dropped the 20, which means you can count that one out. The 60 will be gone in a few months, and it will be just the 40 and the 80. 2 SKUs. MS will keep the Core, Premium, Elite, and the Halo, which leaves them with 4 different console models.

Like I said, there are plenty of legitimate reasons to bash Sony, so go ahead and use them. Number of SKU's is a failure if you're comparing it to MS.

That was more of a blanket statement to those who say Sony is out of control with SKU's and ignore MS's. You aren't the only one to make that point.

It's like 2 years away and by the time it's released it'll be less then $400. I don't think they need it, but this it just Toshiba and M$ way of getting my HD-DVD out on the market, that's all. I'm just wondering what other things will be added to this system. Will it come with a 240GB drive with 10 movies and 5 T.V. shows already on the box? Will there be any games included? There are a lot of different directions M$ can go with this. Hopefully the hardware won't be as faulty. They have plenty of time to make it perfect.

frustrating as it may seem here, this is actually very clever on MSs part imho. as long as blu-rays future is in doubt, the PS3 isnt going to be as tempting as it could be to consumers. by adding the feature, MS are going to further instill that doubt and prolong this format war. its just another way MS are going to undermine sony. if they offer the HD-DVD 360 cheaper than sony offer the PS3 then its another kick in the balls to the PS3 and blu-ray. its probably not going to be a deciding factor in the format war but as long as its going on MS are happy. downloads are what they are more interested in, as shown by the 360 elite and content on Live (in the states anyway).

does it concern the games industry? not a jot. however if MS decide to make only HD-DVD games in the future then there will be hell to pay. chances are they wont since that would break console law (well theres no actual law...but yknow...theres rules n stuff).

personally i dont care. im not backing either format until a victor is declared. my 360 plays every 360 game nicely so im happy.

Microsoft doesn't have a financial interest in the success of HD-DVD, unlike Sony with Blu-ray. Of course, they don't want to see Sony succeed, but they aren't going to go bankrupt if HD-DVD doesn't succeed.
