I've only heard of rumors to this point...this kinda clears it up though I'd say...479.99 + 120 gigs...ooooooo makes it real hard to even look at a PS3...

why...I own a 360 and I think its cool that MS is doing this...I have no need for HD at this point and I'm sure the Hard drive will go down in price at some point...The guts of it are all the same though....Black is cool though...

It still plays games right? it's not like it's the end of the world, it's just a black xbox360 with a new HDD, and I bet the HDD will be sold separately too, which I won't buy anyway tho'.

how so?

uhhh...they no longer own the latest/greatest piece of equipment from microsoft?? this has got to be an industry first (am i wrong?) normally, companies only release cosmetic upgrades to their consoles (e.g. the slim/small versions of the PSX, PS2) I don't think I've ever heard of a company releasing a system with upgraded hardware (HD, HDMI, cooling) within the same generation

It is not coming that soon. Most likely next year. Thats what my Gamespot manager said. Also, whats your problem, it is not like your 360 will stop working.

Do you know what a SKU is??? If retailers are reporting SKU's for it than its confirmed... When I worked at best Buy for 4 years it was customery to have SKU's in the system well before the launch of something....

Not everyone, I have a 360 and I couldn't care less. I rather have a white console, besides that, the expanded hardrive and black controller will probably also be sold by themselves at retail. I guess there's the HDMI port, and that'll matter to some (too bad for them, I guess) but not to me.

Is this microsofts attemp to make there system as good as ps3? they made a  new 360 just so it could have as much gb, have hdmi. ITS A TOTAL SHOCKER THAT ITS BLACK NOW!

1.Kill 360

Interesting I don't feel owned in the least. And I'm also very curious about that price point. I have no doubts that there is a new 360 in the works, however increased price? I don't think that's going to be true. The black does look hot though. Maybe I'll give my brother my old one and get a new 360 with the smaller / cooler cpu. Hmmm.

so would this new system make the current "premium" become the "core"? It would be nice for ms to drop the premium price to the core but leave in the 20gb drive. Then they would be on par to ps3 sku wise.

No I'm not. I don't have anything that can use HDMI and my hard drive still has 11 gigs left (after more than a year) with videos and demos on it. I delete things I don't watch/play anymore. You're pretty ignorant.

Exactly... if you need to buy every TV show on the market place and rent 5 HD movies for the weekend... then get the new model. If you don't then have a fun time filling up 20 GB.

Whatever. I have the HD-DVD add on and it is white, so the black would just look stupid with it. I'm sure they will have the 120 gig upgrade fro the hard drive, So im good.

No. They didn't release a new one. If this is true, it won't be released until the end of the year.
