Thumbs up
"The timing of the departures coincides with the September 2021 announcement that Crystal Dynamics had been signed to co-develop Perfect Dark.
This, combined with the few job roles currently advertised at The Initiative, suggests that the Tomb Raider developer is likely taking a much stronger lead than first thought on the project."

Easy peasy lemon squeezy. lol :P
I'll read the articles in a bit but could it be that these people were contractors and their work was done?

Gamers don’t seem to understand how the industry works. People come and go as the games hit different stages of development. It happens all the time.

yeah, what stands out the most to me is that a lot of the departures were designers and artists.
wasn't initiative a group of 3rd party developers hired by MS to work on PD?
I guess it just changed from a collaborative effort into tasking a third party to do an exclusive game
So just a repeat of Rise of the Tomb Raider. Why didn't they say so?
AAAA was believed to be a typo in the job listing by a recruiter (not MS/Initiative)

Guess they're figuring it out as they go along. Maybe they had a 'too many chefs' problem and realized it wasn't going to work, and what they need is a team that already has a process of how to work together.
Oh so kinda like having 10 managers but only one employee to do all the work.
Coming to E3 this year apparently. Game play was done in 2020, so it makes sense.
(Speculation) Jeff talks about what games are coming in 2023 and what maybe delayed into 2024. He expect this Xbox to spend alot time talking about Starfield, Redfall and Forza Motorsport at E3. He also expects gameplay of Perfect Dark to be shown at this year's E3. pic.twitter.com/FahyoNfbTK

Protossrushx predicted this and was called a ‘hater’ by fellow system wars remember the super star destroyer AAAAA crashing into the Death Star people really need to agree with him
What is up with Microsoft studios ALL having issues? F*ck up anything but Perfect Dark. I have been waiting for this game for so long, and it looks like it might be the next Halo Infinite or Crackdown 3. And just like with PDZ, they will release a shitty PD game, sales will tank, and MS will consider it being not a profitable franchise ffs. So much potential in this series, but nobody at Microsoft has the talent to execute what's needed.

Most of them are contracted probably. Not full time employees.
I'm excited for a new Perfect Dark so I hope this studio is able to keep it together. With that being said, I want to see Crystal D make another Tomb Raider title. Please drop Avengers because that game is crap.
This pretty much confirms that PD is a flop. I guess GS doesn’t need to review this game when it comes out in 2040
Game development is hard.
With Crystal Dynamics apparently taking over the project, I'm sure they'll bundle along to some kind of finished product eventually. Can't say much about the quality of that product, though.
When this game fails, they need to sell the IP to Sony.
Because Sony has a stellar history when it comes to fps games. :-S
There are only five AAAA studios.
Mt. Rushmore just got a fifth entry after Elden Ring ofc (and also for releasing 7 masterpieces in 13 years, a feat no developer is close to)
That game they were wanting to release was NOT a Perfect Dark title. Nothing was carried over from the originals. Character design, character personality, back story, the world history/lore in the game gameplay, EVERYTHING was radically changed, and the Perfect Dark name was to be slapped onto it hoping they could dupe people who actually want a real Perfect Dark game to buy that shit. It'd be like the Tomb Raider reboot which plays NOTHING like a real Tomb Raider game. So, my response to that studio going under, and that game never being made is a resounding "GOOD!"
Sell that IP, along with the IPs of Conker and Banjo to Playtonic Games, an "indie" studio comprised of former Rare devs who were part of the company before the buyout.
Reorganizing the teams is neither a good nor a bad thing. Based on this article it sounds like a very strong team is working on Perfect Dark and a more talented director will soon take the lead.
Protossrushx
How do you know this ProtossRushX when you are still new here? He left GS before you show up so how do you know him?
Protossrushx predicted this
Ohhhhhh!😏
What I find funny is that this team was suppose to be the All star team that MS hyped up , and lems here are making up all kinds of excuses of the reasoning behind the mass exodus 😂

time for a banning 😂
@daredevils2k:
On a serious note "SP removes his SW mask" :P
The team is/was made up of some superstars in their field and frankly that there may be the issue because superstars come with super egos. Too many would be leaders and not enough willing followers if you know what I mean. ;)
"Puts mask back on" Now then, let's get back to the serial stuff.
Another day, another...
lol :P

FTFY. And add Playground Games to your list.

If they want to make one, they will make one, and it won't be a mess like Crackdown3.

Resistance 3 and Killzone Shadowfall were dumpster fires FPS made by Sony.
