[QUOTE="Kickinurass"]Yeah, I bet I will be whipping out the Force FX replicas for that Star Wars game. Probably end up smacking the TV.My brother recently brought to my attention that we have a collection of heavy wooden swords and other weapons we use for training - if I can use them to swing my sword in a game such as Fable, and it doesn't equate to random waggle, it could add to my training regimen.
But, I'd doubt anything like that will happen, so I'm saying no for now.
donalbane
Well, I already train with my weapons pretty frequently.
Kinect might just allow me to add some variety to that, instead of doing the same slashes and strikes 100 times each. Or at least make the process more entertaining my giving me an actual target and goals to accomplish.
I used to have an xbox but if I still had one I wouldn't get Kinect....well...maybe for the Minority Report esque navigation video and music. But NO I think Kinect is terrible, And PS move isn't too shabby either. Just hella skeptical about both, especially Kinect, what do you guys think?
blackgamer1213
yeap, and I'll enjoy myself unlike so many already crying and complaining about it, that even if they use it at a friends house or at a gaming store will already have that negative attitude and not give it a chance.
gamers  too damn much!
You should have put a poll, I'm not an xbox fan but I do own one and no I won't be getting it, not after E3, I'm gonna talk everyone I know out of buying it when it's out.Clank-PS-Snake
, I don't know why but this made me laugh out loud.
But to TC: I don't really get on my 360 anymore, but even if I still played it, i doubt I would buy it, the games do not look appealing. I'm still unsure if I'll even buy the move.
Its expensive and there is almost zero chance that a non-party game will come out for it, so no. It still seems more like a proof of concept than a viable idea.
I'll consider the Move, considering it has buttons and therefore, makes it usable for non-party games, but it'll still be spendy and I already own a Wii. Why spend the money on news controllers to do something I can already do?
I will not be touching it.
If I do end up getting it, it'll be a long time.
Chutebox
you're an xbox fan? wow, coulda fooled me....
Some one should make a list who are real Xbox fans that will be getting the Kinect, a list of non-Xbox fans that will be getting the Kinect, and a list of non-Xbox fans that will not be getting the Kinect. When the Kinect finally is out and have a huge chance to bless the gaming room it will be at on display, you will notice the people on the list that said they will not be getting the Kinect will be the first ones in midnight release launches snatching the Kinect with so much anthusiasm. I truly believe this will happen because the Kinect is plain and simply the best fun deliverer, in my personal educated reality of opinions. Jump in and Kinect.
Absoultely NOT. I want my dual analog controls with sensory feedback, and I want my core games with complex gameplay and cinematic immersion.
i don't think many people here would buy Kinect...
unless girls started loving it, then everybody here would be buying it up in droves :P
It doesn't matter you are an Xbox fan or not. If you are a gamer and have a family like me, Kinect is just a bonus gaming experience for me/you to have fun playing with my/your family.

Actually, with Kinect you can get a million times better immersion and complex gameplay, if it as added to your standard pad controls
I doubt it...if it gets a $100 price drop and some interesting games come out for it...then maybe...on the flip side I won't be buying PS move either and I don't own a Wii so you could say that I am not really a big fan of motion control as of right now.
Possibly, but only because T10 are releasing a new Forza for kinect.racing1750
I will buy it day one, because i cant help it, i just want to see how it feels to be 100% immersed in a game, not like with Wii mote that just wave a hand, but full 3d body integration is just the coolest thing i can think of
Ibuy it also to see how you can interact with a game world in Kinectimals and the Yoga game that you can use the full 3D body mapping fully, like kick a wall properly and use the ehole body in the game, than just one hand and the rest on a 2D plane, like Move does
Then again, it is not like i will not get Fable 3, Milo, First Child of Eden, MGS rising (hinted to use it), Sega new Kinect title etc later, so there are already enough great Kinect games for me i guess, even this early
I have it preordered. Honestly, more than any of the launch titles, I want to be able to talk to the 360 and navigate menus without a remote, but I am pretty stoked bout Star Wars, Child of Eden, and the rumored Fable III compatability. donalbanei don't understand why people are buying this thing for the voice control, what's wrong with the controller?

You dont get full 3D body immersion with a controller, or Move or Wii, so Kinect is something totally new and can immerse the gamer in the game fully
And you can still use the contoller as normal i suppose

Except no one knows if you can. So far, no games allow use of a controller. Its all camera.Kinect = Fail It wont go anywhere near my 360. If I want real quality motion controls I have my wii for that.Sp4rtan_3
Kinect is a generation ahead of Wii though, totally different things
BTW i find Wii controls terrible myself, especially because i have to hold two sticks at hands, with wires too, it is extremely akward

Well Microsoft made it pretty damn clear that Kinect is not for people like me (core gamers) I seriously can't demean myself by jumping around like an idiot/i don't understand why people are buying this thing for the voice control, what's wrong with the controller?[QUOTE="Chris_Williams"][QUOTE="donalbane"]I have it preordered. Kinect is not something totally new, it's eyetoy on steroids. Viral marketer would imply that someone is paying for this service. In which case, someone's getting robbed. Its like listening to my little brother explain how Disney Channel programming is the best thing ever. Yep, each show is in fact.... the best thing ever. Logic be damned!!![QUOTE="a_simple_gamer"][QUOTE="Chris_Williams"] i don't understand why people are buying this thing for the voice control, what's wrong with the controller?blackgamer1213

Kinect is also hands free and supports multiple gamers without extra things or sticks, so again, how is it same ?

Notice I said Imitate and IMPROVE! They took the idea of the eyetoy camera and improved it. It is the difference of 2D to 3D, Move does 3D for any body part with a stick and 2D mapping for the rest, Kinect does full 3D mapping for the whole body and multiple gamers
I agree the mapping is something old, far older than both PSEye and Kinect anyway, so you can say MS copied and MOve did not in the first place
The point is that Kinect offers new things, not what Wii offered years back, unlike MOve

I see "hands free" as "lacking input options". I'd rather not have to do a jumping jack to reload my water pistol.I think it'll be a failure in that it won't be anywhere near as good as MS is hyping it up to be. It's limitations, a prerecorded demo or two at E3(specifically the Forza one) and the trailer from last year which showed a lot of stuff that will probably never be implemented confirmed it for me. I don't think it'll flop in sales, though. It's clearly doing better in preorders than Move, but I think that's because of all the advertising and because it differentiates itself from the Wii, unlike Move.no but i dont think it fail like people on here think
the no buttons thing seems to reallyappeal to the casuals who dont really play video games but would like somekind of bonding time with their kids with games

RogueShodown
The major drawback of Move is that essentially is three parts, Nav, PSEye and Move stick and some games need two sticks and for more gamers gets worst, it is just extremely complicated for the average gamer to handle
Wii had mote as standard, that is why it succeded and MS offers one out of the box thing for multiple gamers, again something that an average gamer can undersand and get easier, wihtout worrying for extras
BTW, developers can easilly use Kinect and the standard controller in combination, so i dont see any limitations, only huge immersion in future games
Kinect suffers from a huge issue and its the ability to move around in the game, if that problem gets solved then I will get Kinect until then no games other than Forza interest me. I am not about to spend money on an object I won't ever use unless its more practically.
Atm the moment I choose spending the 150 dollars on 3 360 games rather than Kinect

It does not erally suffer that much, since there is no limitation in using a standard controlelr to move around like you normally would
